Just a fun project I cam across. There are a ton of options on the internet to personalize your robot. It was pretty fun to design this guy and get creative with it.

Great video. I 'm fairly new to wood working and this will be fantastic project to build up my skills.
For sure! If you have a table saw I would recommend making yourself a little sled. Makes it much safer cutting all the little parts.

Awesome ! funny enough, I just spent the latter part of the afternoon "building" robots with my 4 yr-old twins, first with Yasmine, out of cardboard tubes and hot glue, then Leonard needed one too and we made one out of wood scraps and hot glue (in a rush). It's clearly gonna be the start of a long series of robot builds WITH the kids, and I really look forward to it.
Ok, this was just an FYI, and your robot is way crisper, but I just thought I'd share the warm feelings around this coincidence.

The different sized eyes is what puts it over the top :)
+krtwood - That's funny; I was so busy gawking over how cute it is that, until you mentioned it, I didn't even notice that the eyes were different sizes. Even with the close-up at the end. Haha. I guess that shows how much it works with the style of robot. It seem perfectly natural.
I agree, I can't take credit for that idea. I seen it somewhere else. Etsy and Pinterest are just full of these little guys, all a little different.

How was the wood secured when the CNC was carving on the body? A dab of hot glue?
Double sided tape?
Yes, double sided carpet tape. Works good, but never tried it with a big bit with a heavy cut, probably not go for that.
