That is a very beautiful box which is beautifully and professionally made. You should do more videos like this, but perhaps consider some voice-over to explain what you are doing, or at the very least some annotations.
Sweet! I have this cheapo one that works great but it is a plastic eyesore. Not crazy about the slits as they tend to block sound but I guess you were going for that retro look which looks awesome. Wife has a colander that is the perfect size. All it needs is some black or brown primer and no one will be the wiser. thanks for the idea.
It looks great! I only think it's a real shame that it's just 1 speaker. I wonder if the drivers make the stereo sound mono, or if it just takes either the left or right channel.
I have an ugly Sony docking station that sounds terrible, and the dock doesn't fit my iPhone when it's in its case. Custom time! :-) I think I will do a design like yours but add a bass port, and a larger multi-element speaker left over from another piece of dead portable stereo equipment. Nice built, and the wood case and buttons look great.
Now add some dampening material and change the speaker for a better one. What is making a wooden enclosure good for if the sound also isnt made better together with the design..? : )
I love this wood working book *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . A few of the topics talked about in the book include wood working strategies, explanation on the development cycles of trees, and various lumber characteristics that craftsmen favor. I also provided my father another copy.
I was thinking the same thing.. I was also thinking the box isn't acoustically tuned for the speaker but then again it's just a cheap speaker from a cheap dock so it won't sound great, I think it's more for a decorative piece rather than sound quality
I`m retired and have a little shop where I do woodturning, produce musical instruments, and a bit of cabinetry. I found this woodworking book, “pepe amazing plan” (Google it), and acquired it despite the fact that I own many woodworking books in the house. It`s the most comprehensive book I`ve come across. It has decent coverage on every subject matter.
im in a project and im designing a docking station, do u know any docking to get the main pieces so i can have the best sound spending the less money i can?
Jberardo10 Ive been woodworking for awhile now but after watching and learning some new techniques at the *MySecretBlueprints. com* webinar a bit ago my mind is officially blown. Ive been doing a few things wrong that I didnt know.
J Nye Actually one of the speakers didn't work thats why I didn't mind taking the docking station apart. It actually seems to sound alright with one speaker. It might already have been mono because they were wireless speakers (put each speaker in a different room) anyways its just for the garage and I wanted to show a video more for the idea than design.thanks for watching
It's inspiring to watch someone as talented as you are.
Wow thanks for the kind words!

Sweet Feet. A+ one thing you might want to add is some fiberfill for better acoustics
Looks beautiful in Wood dude !
Great idea and very well done and love the opening song
Awesome design !!
Excellent work!
It looks great! I only think it's a real shame that it's just 1 speaker. I wonder if the drivers make the stereo sound mono, or if it just takes either the left or right channel.
That looked so awesome !
Great work. I wonder if the sounds is good due to the massive wood thats being used opposite to the normal plastic?
Nice job, friend!

Love this. When you screw in a circuit board you should always use a star pattern. doing it the way you show on your video it is easier to break.
Very nice work :) great job!

Glue in a mustard bottle? so cool
you are questioning his creativeability
I'm not I think it's creative
GOD GAVE YOU AN IDEA ... WISDOM CONBATE AUTRA IDEA ... GOOD LUCK
Pretty awesome!!!
Sin palabras Tio. Genial!!!!
Wouldn't you want to elevate the speaker just a bit so the excursion don't hit the wood? Otherwise great project, very nicely done.
***** k?

+Gage Pine Would have sounded better if he installed a black plastic bass port in the back. Then there would be some resonance.
Ame Nightcore it's not like this speaker is moving that much air anyway :P
GOOD JOB
wow that was cool
Ual...Perfect...Very Good.
Very nice..
Das sieht ja mal Richtig krass aus! Respekt
mach 200 stück davon und verkauf eine station für 99.99€ oder $

Was one speaker blown or something? I noticed two in the beginning, only saw one make it into the dock. :'-(
Beautyfull wood
im in a project and im designing a docking station, do u know any docking to get the main pieces so i can have the best sound spending the less money i can?
amazing
Very very talented, but did you use mustard as glue? I thought I saw you using it as glue in this video.
Steve The Creeper just glue in a mustard bottle
It's beauty
Those unevenly spaced slots for the speaker is bugging the hell out of me. Other than that, great looking build!
te quedo shingon
Awesome
nice 70s style
awesome
What type of wood are you using
Even if this build turned out bad, which it didn't, i'm liking cause of Pearl Jam.

Why are you using mustard for glue
Works good, try it!

No just joking, I buy glue in bulk and use the mustard bottles for a glue squeeze bottle.
Thanks for watching
Ryan

Jberardo10 Ive been woodworking for awhile now but after watching and learning some new techniques at the *MySecretBlueprints. com* webinar a bit ago my mind is officially blown. Ive been doing a few things wrong that I didnt know.

Good work, dude! Can u do tabletcasething?
What kind of saw is the one you're using at 3:15?
Cool.
Sweet, nice looking piece. Is that walnut and maple?
Sure is, scrap piece of walnut was only 16" long 6 wide and 1.5 thick

when he pulled out the mustard bottle and began applying, i almost choked
AWESOME ... 8)
how did you glue wood together with mustard!?!
***** Woodworking secret. We'd have to jump you into the gang to tell you.
why didn't you use the big saw for the 3 little holes
jig saw
So everyone is ok with the lines cut for the speaker?
+clapperz also went from stereo to mono!!
the shitty sound quality... it looks great but i'm afraid it sounds like shit
+Vincent Koster might be because the speaker it's self
They are so uneven it's so horrible I can't
Why didn't you use your xcarve?
This video was a year before I got the xcarve.
What did you do to turn it from stereo to mono?
well, nothing it seems... =P
