I considered this swap but a M60 came up super cheap. If I had a 318 this would be a major upgrade and cheaper than putting a S50B30US. Intake sounds great!

We were planning the same swap, we already have the M54 and stuff. Trouble is, a good E36 chassis is not so easy to find in Finland. Or even a half decent one. They've mostly turned brown a long time ago. Unless it's a collectors something or other, which probably has an extra zero in the price.

Hi buddy, i’ve done the same swap on my E36 320i. I’ve recently done the M50B25 intake manifold swap, DISA valve deleted, Vanos and many other thing replaced. Unfortunally still need a map because the engine hesitate at low rpms unfortunally (Maybe for DISA that isn’5 deleted in the software actually). Can i ask you where you put the vacum line of fuel line? Actually i’ve put a fuel filter of E46, that has FRP inside. Have you put the hose of vacum in manifold or on in the “F” plastic stock connector on the intake boot? Thank you 😉😃
We put the vacuum hose from the "Pressure regulator valve" - (number 1 on the diagram). So, the hose number 6 on the diagram goes to the fuel regulator on the filter. We blocked the thing that goes from the "F" connector.
@@OGBemfa thanks mate! Actually i’ve removed also CCV valve (number #1 in link that you have posted). That part need vacuum for working and the pipe (number #6) make vacuum for this valve. With pipe FPR of filter connected in #6 this vale theorically doesn’t have the vacuum anymore 🙈 However i’ll try to put again in the original F connection because the M54 fuel line doesn’t work with full vacuum of intake manifold like on M50. However it’s a great swap you have done on yours, bit mor difficult on 4 cylinder base i think. Congrats 😃
Well, the owner really did a thorough job on the engine and added some upgrades that aren’t really necessary for most people. I don’t know, you could do it for €2,000 or for €5,000, haha. It really depends. But definitely not under €2,000!
Lots of forums and youtube videos out there on this swap 😄. You just have to dig a little. I would write it here but I don’t remember everything by heart right now. But the main thing to get the engine in is: oil pan and wiring harness from an E39. Also the engine mounts from a 6cyl E36 of course. Other stuff you pretty much learn and improvise as you go. If you need any info just send me a DM on IG and I’ll try my best to answer anything you want to know 😄. Best of luck!
