    So with it’s permanent ice caps on it’s poles, we could technically land something there, and it wouldn’t be destroyed by the super high heat, and we could study the planet more, correct?

      Landing a rover or humans in Mercury’s polar regions, where water ice exists, is a fascinating idea but extremely challenging. Mercury’s surface experiences extreme temperature fluctuations, ranging from scorching heat during the day to freezing cold at night. Additionally, the planet’s proximity to the Sun results in intense solar radiation, and its lack of a substantial atmosphere complicates landing procedures. These harsh conditions make current missions to Mercury’s surface highly complex and risky. While the discovery of water ice is intriguing, technological advancements are necessary before such missions can be considered feasible.
