      Scott Cho I understand. I also agree with you about Lori. She was literally the devil on Rick's shoulder in that tent egging him on to do something about Shane.

      Miguel Avila he was a threat. Lori made it worse though. I'm satisfied with how his story played out but I think he a frustrated with the group. That's why he wanted to leave. But of course here comes Lori convincing him not to leave.

      Happywife Taylor I don't think Shane would last long with Negan and Saviors. I honestly think he would of gone crazy struggled to cope with losing people and tried to take out Negan on his own without thinking about a solution. He wouldn't of listened to Rick and made another bad decision getting himself killed

    Shane was an excellent antagonist for the show; every character was impacted by him in some way. Every show needs characters like that. Shane was before his time...he was built for the apocalypse as it is now, not how it was in the beginning. Leaving his story open for a return, especially since we know Judith is his now, would've been interesting and cool.

  • @realest92
    @realest92 7 лет назад +5

    Shane was the guy Rick is now. Rick was even more dangerous than Shane was after awhile. As time went on Rick realized Shane was right, you can't be the good guy anymore. If Shane was alive today than Rick and him would make a badass team but that would never happen because of Shane's head over hills for Lori.

  • @thedilfofwallstreet5385

    I wish they kept Shane alive. They could've done so much with his character and he could've been redeemed. Imagine him in All Out War. What happened with Otis was a split second decision, and if he hadn't left Otis, both himself and Carl wouldn't have made it. I would've done the same thing if it meant saving somebody I loved.

    Absolutely loved Shane. Better to have audiences feel strongly about him either way than to be indifferent. As a viewer, I always felt conflicted how I felt about Shane but even his craziest actions and ideas came from a place where he felt he was justified in them and even if the way he went about executing them was wrong, I could always see where he was coming from. He connected with viewers good or bad, and that strong emotion makes him memorable, therefore, awesome. 😀

  • @timstacy8034

    I think they killed him off way too early. They could have waited until Laurie died, in which would resolved the friction between him and Rick. Shane was so determined to kill the young man because of him belonging to another group that posed an imminent threat… I just wonder if the young fellow belonged to the Saviors and if so, then that speaks volumes considering the trouble they are all in now with Negan. Shane wasn't entirely a bad guy, he only did what needed to be done the same way that Carol did/does. He loved his new family (Laurie and Carl) and was going to protect them no matter what even if it meant Rick had to go. Besides, Rick did make stupid decisions like going back to Atlanta after he just reunited with them... In this world, it's not about who's married to who but who can protect who and I wonder also, if Laurie would have died the way she did if Shane was around. After all, that was his baby and he knew it.

      Matty_S Gaming Shane wasn't capable of being leader because of his decision making. Shane was a good guy really now the only bad thing is that he turned against Rick,but another thing is that they were like 2 leaders and 2 leaders for 1 group was not good thats a reason why they killed Shane,and the problem with Lory...he losed his family to save Lory because he loved her,thats why he was crazy and when he find out Lory is pregnant he got even more crazy caz he knew its his child and the parental instinct comes out and bla bbla bla ...gets even crazy.

  • @cerebrumexcrement
    @cerebrumexcrement 7 лет назад +1

    I liked Shane because he was a go getter and he did make a lot of sense where I felt Rick was too soft. However, I think if he was alive, Rick would be dead and there would be a completely different group dynamic going on -- much less compassionate and handling situations with brute force. Glenn would have left, Daryl would have left, they would have never met Abraham and Co. and made their way to D.C. and eventually settling in at Alexandria. So even though I liked Shane, I'm glad he went the way he did.

    Only problem with saying Shane was trying to help the group survive is that he really wasn't. Everyone else was 'expendable' except Lori, Carl & himself. He would have sacrificed every single one of them to keep that group alive.
    He wasn't wrong about "fighting for it!"; I detested what he did to Otis but I did understand it; He was a stereotypical Alpha male so the rape did not surprise; I thought he could have found a more 'humane' way to show Hershel what he was protecting (one unrelated walker, a deliberate set-up) and I got that he was torn between his love for his PARTNER (in cop speak that is VERY important) and his emotional love for Lori... but he was only concerned with himself, Lori & Carl. That would have ultimately endangered them... even Daryl knew you needed a group to survive. Lori got on my last nerve too but Shane was a grown man and she was the wife of his friend, he could have backed off.

    I think he was wise about the world. The only thing that bothered me was him trying to kill Rick. I think him leaving and running into Michonne instead of Andrea, only because Michonne and Shane would have been awesome against both the governer and Negan! However, the power struggle against Shane and Rick would have imploded.

    Shane was an adapter. If you watch Rick in season 5, he's all Shane. He even wears the same shirt Shane had on during the farm. The dirty brown t-shirt. Rick encompasses all the people he killed. So technically, Shane is alive and well...in Rick.

    I just rewatched all the last seasons of the walking Dead( 1-7.) I standby my feelings towards shane. Which I hate Him and he was a narcissist, egotistical douchebag. You could tell that from the very start that Shane feelings/Obsession for his friends wife, even before the apocalypse. You can just tell by the way he looked at Rick's wife and his son. Yes He and Rick had been bestfriends their whole lives, But you could just tell with his character's Demeanor. And no this is not a good guy. I truly believe that Shane and Lori started having an affair while Rick was in a coma, if you go back to that episode of Shane and Rick in the hospital. You can clearly see Rick's heart moniter shows he had a strong heart beat and pulse. So I don't believe Shane thought rick was dead, I truly believe When this happened he purposely left Rick for dead. So he could take his place in Carl and Lori's lives. And No He wasn't a good leader either. He tried to force his way of thinking on to the others in his group. He showed no concern, care for the well being of the people under his leadership with expectations of Lori, Carl and Himself. Everyone Else is expendable to him including the other children, The fact he was more then willingly to let his people die in the city with no remorse and was nonchalant about it. That how little he cares for well being of everyone else. Back the Cdc I'm sorry But don't excuse any kind of sexual assault, or attempted rape. My mother always told me that a drunk man tells no lies. The moment he attacked Lori and attempted to rape her. I'm not gonna over look that just because he was drunk and say he's not a bad guy because he is. The First time he was in the Woods with Rick alone, He had his locked and loaded point right at rick. If Dale haden been there than he would have shot and killed Rick( Yes Rick is his Bestfriend, his partner and he loved rick. But his Obsession with Lori was that much more greater.) Shane said" himself all he cares about his Lori, Carl and Himself". He prove this when he was willing to Sacrifice Otis just to save himself and He lied about it. That tells you right how many more innocent people would die because of him? How many more innocent people would he be willing to Sacrifice for his own selfish gaine? Also he's tried on numerous occasions to get Rick eaten by Walker. Bascly threatened Dale. When Dale discovered the truth about what really happened to Otis. What he did at Hershel' s farm( yes he had a barn full of walker, But it was still his land and Shane didn't need to handle things that way. Causing of Emotional pain on to Hershel, His and family.) He was more than willing to leave Sophia to fend for herself at the hands of walkers. He set the Trap by killing Randall and making up that false story to lure Rick deep into the woods to kill, Dale Knew of this and tried to hide Shane's weapons from him. Shane was real a threat, a hothead and real Danger to the lives of everyone in the group. Plus he would have left everyone to die, or gotten the group in worser life, or Death situations. And more and more people would have died. It wouldn't have mattered rather Lori died or not. The Fact that her Baby could possibly be Shane's or Rick's. Would have made the conflict between him and Rick worse. Shane trying to kill Rick in order to what he wanted. Which is Rick's wife and to replace him as Carl's father, now the baby. Yes I hated Shane by time season 2 rolled around.
