It's a good repair when the owner can use their services at the end of the day! Well done and 5hit luck at that hour, mate 😱 😳😅 Without a doubt though, the owner needs a new main.

Just like most repairs, you never know what you're going to run across.
I'm really surprised that you started that repair at 4:30 p.m.
However, you got it done and no "leaky leaks" afterward.

My man. Ay mcdonalds, male to pex adaptor, and a piece of pex. Works perfect. Ay mcdonald is like that bolt dresser but better. Fergys should carry them. If not ask them to order some in 1/2 and 3/4 ips. They also make cts ones

Oh man that sucks!!! That's a waste of a Mega Press fitting when something like that happens. Those suckers are expensive too!

Eventually there will be more leaks in that old line.

Never, EVER, EVER use press underground, inside inaccessible spaces or for a permanent repair. They are only good for temporary repairs!! You wouldn't get paid if you did that with me!

@user-zl1bh2gk1b I'm not trying to be a jerk but you're 100% incorrect. Permitted unground in soil, concrete and anywhere you can get your tight quarters jaws

Stupid repair. Using copper in the middle of an iron line will just accelerate the corrosion.
