80 wt is also great for paper piecing. This box is awesome and has me wanting to see if I can still order it!! Wonderfil is great thread, so glad this box is giving you a chance to try it!
I went on a personal spiritual retreat and brought my sewing machine. Additional items I brought included: snips, extra thread, a small bag of clips, pins, a small cutting mat with rotary, ruler dependent on project, bobbins, wool mat, small iron, water bottle and pre-cut fabric. This all fit in my travel machine rolling tote. Omg how could I forget? Seam ripper. Bring 2. I may have put a few thousand miles on mine. lol. I learned a lot that weekend after I decided to completely change the pattern of the quilt mid-ensemble. lol.
Give the tabby box at three. Retreat I would attach a retreat note to you if I can figure out how to attach. I always make a list with clothing, tools, I made a special bag that I keep Withers to go in and spinning that are cutting and he will pad for pressing and ribbon sakes. Don’t forget your meds. Oh, and a Band-Aid in case you cut yourself have fun in Minnesota. I Lived in Minnesota, Apple Valley, or three years and loved it.
Absolutely love the bag for your daughter and the stories about her. My daughter moved to the east coast and I miss her so much! Pink Door does a nice job for Tula peeps…thinking the 80 wt is for EPP? By Annie has been hosting several creators who fussy cut Tula on her you tube channel! Thanks for the book rec, too, sounds fabulous! Enjoy your family time, you are blessed!
Holly, that Pink Door was an awesome addition to your preorder! I also saw cat eyes😝, I really like most of the Tula I’ve seen, but not ever purchased any. The colors/prints seem so vibrant and pretty! I’ll say 4! You’ve got the right idea- plan your projects and make your list now!!! We had our son’s Birthday dinner tonight🎉🎉🎉. It’s wonderful to be together as a family🥰 Enjoy your weekend ❤️😀
80-weight - I thought at first it was for machine embroidery, but then I saw on the card that it said they love it for foundation paper piecing and English paper piecing. That makes sense too. I only recently found out about Wonderfill thread. It's supposed to be great for EPP.
I’ve gone to classes and taken my machine. I made an under the machine mat (helps with vibration). I also made a row of 6 inch pockets (and another row of 2 inch pockets attached on front of those) that hang down from the front of the mat. The strip of pockets are attached with snaps (Velcro would work) so you can roll them up for travel and then attach to mat when you want to sew. There’s room for my clips, marking pen, small scissors, hump jumper, pins (stuck in the mat or in a box) hem turner measurer, purple thangs, corner poker thingy, seam ripper, extra bobbins, seam roller etc. You can make the pockets any width you want to accommodate what you take. I saw the pattern on RUclips but don’t remember the channel. It was called Sewing Machine Mat. Very handy.
Oh, we are STARVING for rain out here in West Texas! Rain is ALWAYS good, because we need it so much. I have only had to have my yard mowed ONE time this Summer, and everything is so dry.
They look like eyeballs to me! 80 wt thread is great for English Paper Piecing because it just disappears into the fabric. Since Tula is a big EPP fan, it makes sense that they'd go with an 80 wt thread. Love the pink door box, and hugs to Dandelion for having to stay inside!
Very pretty fabrics but I'd give the box a 3. I can't think of anything that the others haven't mentioned. So glad the UPS man remembered Dandelion's treat.
I love the bag - I made 100 similar ones for my daughter's wedding. We filled them with bougie snacks. Most guests were staying at the hotel, a couple traveled a couple hours and they could snack on the way home.
Good morning Holly!! ☕️💜 Glad the rain slacked off so you could visit with us this morning! 😊 I like the Tula Tabby line, I always start planning a quilt in my mind when I see them! Lol One of my youngest daughters loves her cat, Carol, so very much and I do want to make her a cat themed quilt soon. Right now I am finishing up my 7th out of 8, Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt, quilts to give my grandchildren this fall. They have been fun, I have each of them the book to go with their quilts. 🥰 So the kitty quilt will happen, hopefully soonish! Lol Back to what’s happening here! 😂 The bundle was good, I liked it very much. The box was fun, those custom zipper pulls were so cute!! There were what, 3 patterns? I know Tula fabrics are a bit more but not sure about the solids, maybe so? Overall I would agree with you on the 4. Dandelion knows how to spend a rainy day!! And I am so happy the new UPS driver brought treats and made a good impression on Dandelion!! Makes my heart happy 🥰. Always so good to see you lady!
Good morning and thanks for sharing. I really liked that hombre print. I am going to try and get some of that. I have no idea what I would do with it, but it’s pretty. Have an awesome day everyone.
That is an adorable makeup bag! 80 wt thread is often used for sewing epp. I have never tried it in my machine, probably possible though. I have a bag of sewing stuff that stays packed for retreats. One gal forgot the pedal for her machine one year, she didnt live real far, so she went home and fetched it.
Hi Holly, I love the fabric in the pink door box. Not big on cats on fabric but is very pretty if you are a cat person. Love the iron bag. I agree with you give the box a 4 kind of pricey.
Hi Holly, Mary Oliver died in 2019. 80 wt thread is used mainly for embroidery. Wonderfil is a Canadian thread company. A cute box but rather pricey. I give it a 3. Make yourself a list of things you would need to sew "on the road". I always enjoy a Dandelion moment. Have a good weekend Holly.
The fabrics are pretty and there is some cool patterns, thread and accessories. I'd make the projects. Because the price seems a bit high I'd have to go with a 4.
Good morning and TGIF! I've got fun plans for the weekend, including working on props for this year's yard haunt, making a mock-up for a new shirt, and (hopefully) hitting a craft faire tomorrow. (Keeping my fingers crossed that I made adequate adjustments to the shirt pattern; with luck the mock-up will be good enough to wear 🙂). Might even make a pie; the blackberry bramble has been going full steam and there's a gallon Ziploc full of berries in the freezer. The book tote turned out beautifully! It's a good size - that's a pretty big book you got in there - and the matching bookmarks really do make it a great gift set. The corner bookmark that you did makes it extra-nice, since one can use whichever type they prefer. The first few times I saw Tula Pink fabrics, I didn't like them very much. I thought the colors were too garish. They've grown on me, though, and now I absolutely adore them (and that's your doing, by the way; you got a pink-hamsters-with-yellow-flowers print in one of your boxes ages ago, and that was the moment I fell in love - which is ironic, since if I recall correctly you didn't care for that particular print). The cat's eye print is fantastic! It's got a Halloween vibe without being the usual black/orange or green/purple combo; it would be awesome as a tablecloth at a Halloween party, or maybe as a set of dinner napkins. The ombre/geometric print is out of this world! I agree that the mouse print is the least-attractive of the bunch, however if it were used in small pieces (scrappy blocks, HSTs, etc) it could definitely work. Loving the stripes for sure. As for the box, big conflict there. Every single thing in it is attractive, useful, and/or fun, and I'd definitely make the bag. It gets full marks in the "would I want it for my very own" category. That being said, it's not worth $76, especially since shipping is extra according to the website I went to. I'm sure if one bought the items separately they'd add up to that, but that doesn't mean I agree it's worth what they're charging. So, that's a 5 for wanting it & a 3 for value, bringing us to a total of 4/5 for the final score. Poor Dandelion! She looks so woebegone on a rainy day. Cheer up little puppers, the sun'll come out again!
Oh Dandelion, is mommy pointing that camera in your face again?? She loves❤you that’s why! Holly, I use Wonderfil I get at FQS, it’s the glow in the dark thread for me. Yes, love this Tula. I’m confused big suprise, I thought we were just using 1 #??? I say 5. Thanks Holly. 🥰🥰❤️🤗
I haven't been to a retreat in years. I have seen posts where ladies said scissors and snips were borrowed and not returned to put your name in large labels on everything!
I like the cute kittens in tabby road. I really like the idea of the iron bags. I love taking my combo pincushion thread bag, snips, scissors and of corse my wool ironing pad, tv tray to put iron pad on and my mini iron. Also you need a good mini light source. Happy quilting
Hey Holly, it's so nice to see you today. Tula is a beautiful lady with a beautiful mind. Her creations border on masterpiece. I would rather buy larger pieces of fabric for $75, however you need the extras to make the projects. I give this a 3. Thank you for sharing. Love you Holly, be blessed ❤
I like most of the older Tula but the newer animals, not so much. Maybe the goldfish only! Because of price and lack of interest in fabrics I give the box 3.
Wonderfil I love this thread! I EPP (English paper piece extensively) Wonderfil out of Canada has a WIDE range of weights and colors… customer service is fabulous too. I highly recommend this thread company
For your trip make sure you have a power cord strip, You've got your iron + bag, pins, scissors, snips, cutting and ironing board(wool mat) multiple rulers, multiple rotary cutters & blades. Several projects cut out and ready to sew.
Hi. Would books fit better in your bag if you put them in “portrait “ direction instead of “landscape”? I thought the furball looked like a blue giraffe! The kittens in cups are cute and I love that version of Tula. I’d give the box a 3 though.
Loved the Tabby Road fabric. I’d give the box a 3 for the projects since I never take my irons anywhere and a 4 for cost. So I guess a 3.5 total. The book bag was cute and I still think it would be great for a journal…I used to have cute bookmarks (pre-Kindle), but I usually grabbed a receipt or a dollar bill when I was ready to quit reading. The makeup bag is awesome.
What helped me going on trips pick out a pattern before you go and cut out everything you need to sew and that one less step you have to do on your vacation I give the box a 4
Mary Oliver passed away January 2019. The box is a 3 for me, because of the fabric and the Kitty Cups pattern. The solid colors are turquoise, coral, lime green, and lavender.
I find Tula Fabrics frays alot. My quilt stores block of the month had a tula choice and i did that one. I can't cut all the strings off the back as it frays more and more. The long armer will not be happy when I bring it to thig em. For the price of her fabric it could be better quality and not fray. Have a great weekend. We are getting rain here in NJ for both days. i have to sew for my granddaughter. Stuff for back to school!
Hello Holly, you're looking lovely as always! The Tula is very cute. My favorite is the diamond print, and yes, those are cat eyes!!! I think I need to make the hot and heavy pattern, I really like it. I give the box a 4. Thank you for sharing, until next time.......
I love Tula Pink fabrics, but I am not a cat person, so this cat fabric doesn’t excite me at all. I thought the box was a little pricey, but so is her fabric! These big designers like Tula, Kaffe, Anna Maria, are all charging a lot per yard now - $13 - $17 per yard here in ❤! I was shocked when I saw a bolt of Kaffe, & it was $14 a yard! I’m retired now, & I can’t afford those prices! Tips for travel sewing - first thing to pack are the cords for your machine! And, on your return trip home - same thing! I cannot stress that enough!! Ask me how I know!!😉😉
I love the bags you made. I use those size bags for when I visit my doctors. This way I always know it is for medical visits. perfect size for my records that i carry, notebook and the papers they give me. I don't lose any now. The hot and heavy pattern is by annie newest pattern. Isn't everyone already know about her! Greatest patterns. The pattern was made for the Olisio two size irons. Tula asked by annie to do this pattern for her two irons.
I love Tula Pink so I love these fabrics. I give the box an overall 4. I do feel it's too pricey for what you get. The original disco kitty you have is worth it's weight in gold. I tried to find a piece of it to finish a project, and ppl are selling it for $400/yard! So needless to say, I didn't buy it at that cost. Decobob I think some ppl use as the bobbin thread but my friend uses it for EPP. Aww Dandelion such a sweetheart. I bet she's missing her FedEx buddy.
love that dandelion! her sighs say it all. take on your retreat a seam ripper 😝. i love that old piece of tabby road better than the new! the pink door is too pricey for me and nothing earth shattering in it so i give it a 3
The kittens in cup pattern is cute. The solids are nice. But $70 is to high. So I give it a 4. The Tula pink gets a 3. I love kitties but the color pattern is not my taste.
I use to be a festival vendor. Sold handmade item and dog treats. I had one 10 day event . I took my machine with me. I also made sure I had everything I needed to make the project. Fabric, matching thread and so on. Also included a seam ripper, small scissors , extra machine needle, a hand sewing needle, small iron, spray starch, clips and pins and my fabric turner. This all went into my handy dandy roller bag.
Yes, I’d like the box, both patterns and the hardware for the bag(s) are great. But I’m not sure the value is there. Pretty thread , but I have plenty, and solids, eh. I give a 3.5.
I wondered when you would put a decal again on the table to keep you centered. 😊 It works. It must be allergies and the rain that affects your voice. Just saying cause it happens to me . Ouch $76.00! I like the box, but some of the extras could have been eliminated to keep the box price down. Considering everything I give this box a 3.5. So sweet, the treats continue for Dandelion.
I am reading about 80 weight being used for piecing. Wonderfil thread has no lint! Alot of dealers tell us to use wonderfil or glide and Not aurifil as aurifil has alot of lint.
I have to give it a 3. The kitten in a cup pattern is cute but I don’t think I would make it. I do like Tula, but have a hard time knowing quite what to do with it.
I liked the pre-order fabrics - really cool. The Pink Box doesn't seem to have the value that I thought it would. I like the items but they seemed pretty expensive, I guess the thread was half the box price? I wouldn't buy for that price if I saw it in the store - 2.5 from me.
I have a question for you…. What do you do with your bookmark while you read the book? I always lose mine! If I stick it further back in the book but it falls out….I am now an evil person who turns over the corner!!!! 😱
If it's your book, turn all the corners you like! Having worked in a library for 15 years, I'd have to put you in library jail for corner folding, although corner folding is way down on the list of ways to mess up a library book. I usually put my mark farther back in the book while I read.
This may seem harsh. I'll give it a 3. I've never used Tula and if this box was to introduce you to it, I find it way to pricey. The price really bogles my mind.
$30 for the thread-- 80wt cottonized polyester thread is extremely fine and incredibly strong, your seams will lay flatter, making it easier to line up patterns and quilt, blocks, and for machine embroidery, $36 for the 4 fat quarters as these fat quarters are about $9 a piece. $10 for the Kittens in Cups pattern $10 for the Hot n' Heavy pattern $15 for zippers, $6 for bag hardware, $20 for custom zipper pulls, $3 for the sticker Tula PInk stuff is more expensive than other similar items and these are retail prices, not shop wholesale prices, so the price tag for the Pink Box is a good value for overpriced Tula PInk stuff.
@@pattiecoxey New collection Tula Pink fat quarters are not $2.50 each, a 24 FQ bundle of the solids $96, divided that by 6 = $16. FQ Shop $9/FQ. The zipper pulls were custom metal made, not the regular kind. I looked up the patterns prices, $10 each. Tula zippers 3 yards are $25, the box had about 70", so $12. It's Tula Pink stuff, not ordinary stuff. I'm not saying Tula Pink is worth the price premium, because I don't.
Thanks Holly! First I don't appreciate you not acknowledging my feelings about the dandelion fabric thing I also shared with you that I am very ill and I don't appreciate you not intervening when someone challenges my box vote and opinion on this video. I am entitled to my opinions and you rarely say a word to any of your "lovely wishes" comments and certainly not mine. You ask how we are and tell us much you care about us but ignore this harrassment I am getting from this person I don't know regarding my vote on your subscription box. Where are you?
Her early designs were fun and interesting, but now only OK. I see her "Roar" dinosaur collection is on sale or clearance. Note, this Tabby Road collection is a "Deja Vu" collection as it was released before and perhaps updated. Tula must be out of ideas.
I really love Tula’s colours….I do not always love the animals….for example as a dog person I do not want cat fabric! And I love elephants and giraffes but not so much some of the other animals…
My family is getting together for my 85 th birthday.I’m thrilled to be with my wonderful sons❤️
Happy Birthday! !
Happy birthday 🎉
80 wt is also great for paper piecing. This box is awesome and has me wanting to see if I can still order it!!
Wonderfil is great thread, so glad this box is giving you a chance to try it!
Excited to see how the iron carrier turns out!
Extendion cords and power strips are handy. At retreat we always
Have snacks for sewing time. Pre cut your projects also helps.
I am in love with the kittens in cups!!
Bring 2. I may have put a few thousand miles on mine. lol. I learned a lot that weekend after I decided to completely change the pattern of the quilt mid-ensemble. lol.

It’s wonderful to be together as a family🥰
Enjoy your weekend ❤️😀
80-weight - I thought at first it was for machine embroidery, but then I saw on the card that it said they love it for foundation paper piecing and English paper piecing. That makes sense too. I only recently found out about Wonderfill thread. It's supposed to be great for EPP.
Hi Holly, the higher the number the finer the thread. My quilt store carries that brand. I love the fabric and whatever you make will be beautiful.
I’ve gone to classes and taken my machine. I made an under the machine mat (helps with vibration). I also made a row of 6 inch pockets (and another row of 2 inch pockets attached on front of those) that hang down from the front of the mat. I saw the pattern on RUclips but don’t remember the channel. It was called Sewing Machine Mat. Very handy.
Pink door box - yes it's expensive, but with Tula you know it will be. Would I want it, yes. 4.5, cost 4
The bag is really cute
Oh, we are STARVING for rain out here in West Texas! Rain is ALWAYS good, because we need it so much. I have only had to have my yard mowed ONE time this Summer, and everything is so dry.
Hi Holly! Pretty stuff! Love that Dandelion! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day! Oh, 4's. I agree!
The 80 wt thread is great for EPP.

I love Dandelion!! Just watched Mind of a Dog on Netflix and so much appreciation for dogs and what they do!!
Very pretty fabrics but I'd give the box a 3. I can't think of anything that the others haven't mentioned. So glad the UPS man remembered Dandelion's treat.
Hello everyone. Happy Friday! I give the box a 3 as I do not care for most Tula Pink fabric.😊🧡💛
I love the bag - I made 100 similar ones for my daughter's wedding. We filled them with bougie snacks. Most guests were staying at the hotel, a couple traveled a couple hours and they could snack on the way home.

Portable lighting and a power strip are very helpful at retreat.
Good morning and thanks for sharing. I really liked that hombre print. I am going to try and get some of that. I have no idea what I would do with it, but it’s pretty.
Have an awesome day everyone.

I love Wonderfil threads and I use DecoBob all the time! I use it for piecing and quilting.
Hi Holly, I love the fabric in the pink door box. Not big on cats on fabric but is very pretty if you are a cat person. Love the iron bag. I agree with you give the box a 4 kind of pricey.
I’m not a big Tula fabric fan, though I generally like her blenders.
The box is a 2 for me. I liked the solids.
I love the makeup bag you made, so cute😊 I like some but not all of Tula. I agree 4 for the Pink Door.

5/3 for me its always fun to get some ideas for fabric you love! Gonna go get me some Tula today…love the kitty, the stripes, and the eyeballs. :)
The fabrics are pretty and there is some cool patterns, thread and accessories. I'd make the projects. Because the price seems a bit high I'd have to go with a 4.

Poor Dandelion! She looks so woebegone on a rainy day. Cheer up little puppers, the sun'll come out again!
I use that thread for quilting. I also use 90 wt in the bobbin when I am paper piecing
You're right, we are using one number so well done you! Man Dandelion hates that camera. She gives me the stink eye every time I point it her way. xo
@@DandelionStitchesHolly, I hope you are not upset with me. I say things twisted sometimes you know! Would never want to hurt you! 😢

Light! Yes! It was not on my list. Thanks!
I like the box but it’s so expensive. It’s a 4 to me. Enjoy your daughter party. Love Dandelion. Thank you for sharing.
Cute makeup bag & fabric!
I love the kitten pattern but feel that the box was a little pricey so only a 3 from me! Thanks for showing us that box. Have a great weekend!
Hey Holly, it's so nice to see you today.
Tula is a beautiful lady with a beautiful mind. Her creations border on masterpiece.
I would rather buy larger pieces of fabric for $75, however you need the extras to make the projects. I give this a 3.

Hello Holly, you're looking lovely as always! The Tula is very cute. My favorite is the diamond print, and yes, those are cat eyes!!! I think I need to make the hot and heavy pattern, I really like it. I give the box a 4. Thank you for sharing, until next time.......
I give this a 3. I typed in what to take on quilt retreat. It will give you some great ideas.
Love the kitties and the solids
I give it a 3 total. Tula fabrics are not my favorite, I do like the iron carrying bag, cute idea. TFS. Happy Birthday to your daughter.
I would say 4/3. I don’t love cats but I love the colours. I would guess the price is exactly the value paid….not a deal but not a ripoff
3 for the pink box. I like the Tabby cat print from the bundle.
The original Tabby Road kitties fabric is worth a lot of money to collectors. I had some and sold it at a phenomenal price.
love that dandelion! her sighs say it all. take on your retreat a seam ripper 😝. i love that old piece of tabby road better than the new! the pink door is too pricey for me and nothing earth shattering in it so i give it a 3
The kittens in cup pattern is cute.
I give the box a 3.
Love your bags! 80 wt. is what I use for EPP. Nice things in the box. But I think it’s very pricey. I give it a 4.
Yes, I’d like the box, both patterns and the hardware for the bag(s) are great. But I’m not sure the value is there. Pretty thread , but I have plenty, and solids, eh. I give a 3.5.
I give it a 4/3. I like to cut everything out before I go on retreat. It’s better for my back.
Not a tula pink fan myself but everyone has their own taste
I wondered when you would put a decal again on the table to keep you centered. 😊 It works. It must be allergies and the rain that affects your voice. Just saying cause it happens to me . Ouch $76.00! I like the box, but some of the extras could have been eliminated to keep the box price down. Considering everything I give this box a 3.5. So sweet, the treats continue for Dandelion.
My vote 2. Not a Tula fan and price is way out. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
3 for me but people who love tula will love the box, but for me not so much
I give the box a 4.
Love the Tabby Road fabric!
The box has some fun stuff but I am not sure the value is there for me. I would score this box a 3.5.
They are cat eyes!

I think it is a cute box but it is pricey for what was in it. Thanks for sharing! ❤ I give it a 4
Nice box. A little pricey. I love the zipper pulls. I’d give it a 4
I liked the pre-order fabrics - really cool. The Pink Box doesn't seem to have the value that I thought it would. I like the items but they seemed pretty expensive, I guess the thread was half the box price? I wouldn't buy for that price if I saw it in the store - 2.5 from me.
I really like the kittens in teacups pattern and how fun this box was, but I don't think I would buy it. So, this one gets a 4 from me..
5 and 3
I give this box a 3 😢
I’m giving this one a 3…it’s a good box but not at that price point. I LOVE cats, but not a Tula fan…Thanks for sharing!

1/5 I do like Tula fabric most of the time.
This box is a 3 for me. Seems pricy for the contents. I appreciate Tula but it's too taste specific for me. I don't think it plays well with others 😅
80 wt for quilting?
This may seem harsh. I'll give it a 3. I've never used Tula and if this box was to introduce you to it, I find it way to pricey. The price really bogles my mind.
Hi Holly...80wt I use only for EPP. If it's polyester I give it away. I give this box a 3. Too expensive for the contents.
$30 for the thread-- 80wt cottonized polyester thread is extremely fine and incredibly strong, your seams will lay flatter, making it easier to line up patterns and quilt, blocks, and for machine embroidery,
$36 for the 4 fat quarters as these fat quarters are about $9 a piece.
$10 for the Kittens in Cups pattern
$10 for the Hot n' Heavy pattern
$15 for zippers, $6 for bag hardware, $20 for custom zipper pulls, $3 for the sticker
Tula PInk stuff is more expensive than other similar items and these are retail prices, not shop wholesale prices, so the price tag for the Pink Box is a good value for overpriced Tula PInk stuff.
@@marinaabad4995 leave me alone! Think whatever you want and so will I!
@@marinaabad4995 new collection Tula Pink was purchased separately by Holly (FQS) not part of this box.
The box is “ok”. But you only got solids. It is very pricy for what you get. I give this box a 3.
3/3. I’m not a big Tula fan
This box seems very expensive. 1
Happy Weekend - I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't really care for Tula fabrics. Sending Light and Love to All .❤🙏❤
Her early designs were fun and interesting, but now only OK.
@maureenleclair8773 I am not a fan either!
Unfortunately I give this box a 3. Not my jam. Xoxo
I give the box a 3 - I wouldn’t pay that much for a box, by Annie patterns are awful to follow.
