This video got much more views than anticipated, so to give more context I like to think that this encounter between them wasn't written to be presented like this, but Oppenheimer had a notoriously short shooting schedule, so I can see them being like yeah lets have Tom Conti (the actor playing Einstein) on set for this scene so we can tie these two together just because its a 3 hour picture (with a lot of dialogue so likely a 180+ page script) and they have so much to shoot. With that being said I did preface the video by saying I love this movie, 99% of it works for me and saw it several times, one of the best cinema experiences in recent memory for the sound design alone + fun fact my favourite movie of all time is The Prestige, which is a Nolan movie, main point being that just because the way they tied these encounters together was silly doesn't mean that its not a great film, both these things can be true at once. Edit: also great to see that this won so many awards at the Golden Globes, hopefully will sweep the Oscars as well :)
I'm saying that you, or I, or most of the people on the planet are not in any position of making fun in a judgmental way for his cinematic choices, @@tiburc10 If you wanted attention, congratulations, you got it. But it still doesn't make you right.
read the biography, Einstein was Oppenheimer's neighbor in the Princeton AEC campus. And he did visit Oppenheimer on the same day when the charges was brought against him and was made known to the faculty/public
@@Cinecorner7 it would've been even better if Oppenheimer looked in the distance while talking to Einstein, then looked back but Einstein disappeared... Like Batman 🦇
SAME WE LAUGHED SO MUCH at the cinema, but nobody else was laughing and we were literally crying trying to hold it in. i'm glad there's a community of people who found this scene funny hahaha
Not wrong! 😂 I gave it a pass because I loved the movie overall, but yeah the line he delivered felt too campy for a serious scientific drama. Like then He and Einstein grab a pair of budwisers and shotguns "And now its time to roll out" About him being there though, I was more perplexed that his friends were watching him strike out with Jean than I was about Einstein walking by his front door. He probably knew he was going through a tough time and saw him saying bye to his guests, thought he would swing by and reassure him. They both lived nearby, that part didn't bother me whatsoever.
Mediocre target audience of Marvel's humor. Do research broo,, they are neighbors and Very Close Friends, of course he's gonna approach Oppenheimer casual like that

Einstein didn't pop up out of nowhere. He lived there, too. It's only common that great minds stroll around at night.
yeah someone mentioned it as well! however I still think it was silly how they presented it :D
Yeah but still the way Nolan blocks the scene is pretty bad it makes it comic
Right... Nolan is a bad director@@tiburc10
You think Nolan can't make a bad choice? You think he is perfect and eveything he does is perfect?@@alioncaci

Einstein died a year after Oppenheimer's clearance was denied so yeah I think he was talking to him in his head there.
