It's a complete waste and also terrible for the ecosystem. A 13 minute flight is outrageous.
Remember this when a celebrity or politician tries to guilt trip you into staying home instead of driving. Or to sell your car for an electric vehicle.
As if electric vehicles were sustainable. The carbon emissons for mining and processing cobalt, lithium and all the other minerals, is already high. Those are non-renewable, rare materials that are difficult to come by. Then you have the fact the batteries last about 15-20 years, and that after that, you have to toss away the battery and get a brand new one. Imagine everyone having to buy a new battery every 15 years. All those dead batteries will end up in landfills, and eventually, the toxic liquids will overflow into the ocean. They aren't good options, but I guess, it's what we have.
If rich celebrities dont want people to see and track their every move, then they shouldn't be celebrities. Big lottery winners often go dark for this exact reason.
And the worst part about it that there are people who use jets more times then tailor. We need to shame on all of them, we need to fucking enforce this shit to stop.
N621MM is a 2009-built Dassault Falcon 7X used by Taylor Swift. Cars and trucks contribute 23% to total greenhouse gas emissions while private jets contribute about 0.04% of emissions. If 1 in every 3 people were able to contribute half as much to car and truck emissions, _that_ would make a significant impact on the environment. On the large scale, which is the only scale that greenhouse gas emissions affect the whole earth, Taylor Swift flying her private jet or not isn't going to make any difference in terms of emissions, and it's not going to invalidate your individual effort, beause your's is part of hundreds of millions of others. You can think that Taylor Swift shouldn't have to care about flying private jets becuase there aren't enough people with private jets to contribute anything meaningful to global emissions simply by not flying them. Conversely, you can think that Taylor Swift should care becuase her emitting more than the average person is setting a bad example and that other people will care less becuase of her. Either way, you shouldn't let a few people's actions make you think that your contribution doesn't matter, becuase it does.

We have to reduce our carbon emissions, drive bicycles, eat less meat, fly less, and then there's celebrities who get dozens of likes for doing what we're told not to do.
The 13 minute flight might've been to go to a Gulfstream facility at the other airport for maintenance or a retrofit. Pretty common to fly out of an airport near your home and go for maintenance at another large one. It's possible Taylor flew across town, but I think the maintenance angle is more likely.
Well, there's good reason for this: there are *WAY* too many stalkers of Swift out there. Not to mention the chaos she caused when she flew commercial to Japan in 2015 during the _1989 World Tour_ , which caused _three hour_ delays at Tokyo Haneda Airport. Flying into Tokyo by private jet into one of Tokyo's smaller airports means way less interruptions to Tokyo's two major international airports, Haneda and Narita. Like it or not, Swift is just _too_ visible a celebrity to travel by commercial flights. Even with many airlines with special airport lounges designed to cater to celebrities, her presence would cause too much chaos not only at the lounge, but the whole airport in general, citing the example I mentioned above.
Maybe its because I am a big car guy, but if I had what amounts to infinite money I would drive everywhere. I could make the ride as long and fun as possible because gas is practically free for me.
And that's why I stopped liking Famous Celebrities, I'm no longer interested in those types of people, I would prefer a thousand times to follow Jesus (That he does know you) than famous people, whether you're Christian or not, I don't care, I'll stay with God 💗
To be fair to Taylor Swift ferry flights like these happen all the time for private and commercial flights and they probably did this for maintenance / to pick up or drop off crew. This is also the plane she sold last week so these were definitely the new owners.
This is why I dump oil down the drain and run the aircon 24/7 because what’s the point of a years worth of diligent emission cutting is undone every time Taylor Swift flies to get a glass of water.

id day private jet use is okay for long distance flights like over countries. If its literally a 28 mile distance, thats just cutting the line. Use a car or smth idk.
@@Pyunut And also rather than using a gargantuan jumbo jet fuel guzzler to transport one person, they could literally just use a small plane that isn't a jet plane (so, turboprop or piston or something) if they're flying such short distances. The only reason really to get a private jet rather than just flying first class or using a plane instead of a jet is if you need to get to places on the other side of the world and back quickly for business reasons, so someone like Taylor Swift probably has good reason owning one, however they shouldn't be used for such small flights.
