Background:
I know my progress is really slow and not impressive at all compared to others. I paid in hard work like many others. We are in the same game, just different levels. Same hell, just different devils.
I made this video to document my progress over the past year where I have gone from not being able to do a handstand to doing (1) 40 seconds of handstand hold, (2) 1 rep of handstand pushup and (3) press to handstand.
Original post on reddit: How I went from 0 to 40 seconds handstand hold in 12 months: / how_i_went_from_0_to_4... Спорт
The beginning is clever do it against two walls I never thought of that
Yeh same. Cool idea
Nice video man. Love to see other people's progress. Thank you for posting
How much do you weigh?
@@jollysheldone425 75kg
Jamie Tso Excellent job 🤝
This is why i love calisthenics: you don’t need any fancy equipment, or move to far places. You can just do it wherever you want and stick to the basic moves like push ups. As long as you commit to it, you will find harder variations and increase confidence in yourself🙌🏼
Also, what I like about calisthenics is it's poetic in a way that the force you're working against is yourself i.e. your bodyweight.
@@alanwalkman29 I'd say learning (training) with yourself as you're mastering body control through ranges of high to very high mechanically-disadvantaged ways
Congratulation, very inspiring! Now I want to reach the same goal ..... at 57 ;-(
You can do it you're awesome I believe in you !!
@@Wiizardii Thank you!
Yes, me too....
Me @ 62 if I can ;-)
Why the sad face man! It's a great age to be keep yourself fit! Let's get it you can do it. Good luck :-)!!
Respect bro!
PS: dope interstellar song
I am going to start TODAY - thanks
Now thats the freaking spirit
Good for you man but let me tell make sure you learn a straight back hand stand and not a Banana one I’ve been doing them for 6 months and regret learning a banana cause now o gotta kind of start over
How are you doing? :D
yes ~ it is always better to lean the correct movement the first time. @@Zack-sj2vs
Hi ~ not sure if that was a question for me ?
@@TheActualTed havent started yet ~ been to visit my brother in the UK. i MUST GET BACK TO IT - I was doing 40kg weighted pull ups and 40 kg weighted dips ~ I did a steve maxwell course and he said you are strong enough if you can do 40 kg. I think I can go higher. saw a 60kg guy climber do 70 kg~ incredible
"Everything you have ever wanted is on the other side of fear."
Robert Aznar or laziness
Jack St. another word for fear of work and commitment?🤔
As someone who has been walking on their hands since I was 6, I applaud your hard work and progress. I am 46 now and I still use handstand/walking as a workout. Keep up the great work!
I can hand walk when I was kid. but I just learn handstand 42.
@@shanyuxi So would you say hand walk 300 yards or hand stand 100 secs is harder?
As someone who has been born with 4 hands i also applaud you, i am 64 and still do walking as great workout.
@@harmanhameed6286 Maybe I'll catch you one day:)
@@BayouHotBoy1 Haha now looking at it that was a good joke 😂, also thanks for being chill man, you rock
What's great about these videos is seeing the progress you've made. Truly inspiring.
He started better than my 1 year progress
yeah same lol
@@unsaturated8482 damn this was an old comment lol
That music was perfect for the 40 sec hold! I could feel how much of an achievement it was for you!
Also it was good to watch you start your journey from press to handstand. I now know what to look forward to! Thank you!
This is one of the most inspiring things I've seen in a long, long time. Jamie Tso you are incredible! Thanks for your gift of fearlessness to the world
You are amazing, I am at the start of this journey and I will push through to get to where you have arrived. Well done, really well done.
Well done Jamie. Really impressed. You give me hope. I am starting my journey shortly. Will try to document.
this is incredible! i also did a vid of my handstand journey but its been way over a year for me and im not where as advanced as you, truly think your progress is amazing as i am trying to learn myself and know how hard it is! 🙌🙌🙌😍
Always warm up your wrists first. Very important
How?
@@danielharder7511 ruclips.net/video/hicA-ehGTyM/видео.html
@@Newton988 thanks
in the beginning it makes a lot of difference, then you won't need that much
@@danielharder7511 That's wrist strengthening. You can warmup with pushups
Wow! Respect man.... People always want quick success but the got to understand if it's easy to do then it ain't worth learning... Thanks for the motivation, I'm gonna start mine.
So inspiring! Love how hard you worked. I find it interesting hoe hobbies teach us life lessons. For example: "Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear." I really liked it.
Respect, I like your patience. Normally here in RUclips everyone want to tell us he can handle it in some weeks but I do the handstands since more than 3 years now. It isn’t so easy to hold and press the handstand.
your dedication is admirable, and motivational!
This brought a tear to my eye..what a journey! Appreciate you for putting up this video...and also kickass background music!
I’m guessing you know what the background music is.
But if you don’t it’s from Interstella.
I feel you. I am the same. No trainer but just the wall. I'm still with the wall and struggling. I'm 57 and started last September 2018. This date is July 31, though Im still with my bestfriend, Paul the Wall, I am able to feel how my spine works bone by bone from disk to disk to lengthen , extend and reach way up inverted. I will keep watching this and makes me more motivated. My goal, without Paul my wall, at age 60, I have accomplished the king of all movements, HANDSTAND. Thank you for sharing this. You are superlative inspirational. God bless you and embrace this gift from above. Sending you love.
57kg?
I cheered at your first December 2018 pushup. Congratulations at having achieved your goal!!
One of the best videos I've ever seen. 10000% inspiring.
Massive respects! Amazing video and very motivational! I remember myself 1 and a half year ago, i had the exact same fears but i never gave up like you dude! Keep up the great work
This is a sick transformation man! I literally just uploaded my own and found this. Respect!
you are such an inspiration honestly! you made me watch all of your videos and subscribe 😁💪🏼
Amazing man! Congrats on the progress. I am just starting my handstand/calistenics journey. This is definitely motivating!
Good job when I was in my late teens early 20s I used to do handstands riding a skateboard... I can relate to your journey ... well done...
You are awesome! I'm halfway there and I got a lot of inspiration from your video. Thank you, you mean so much!
The video you made and other calisthenics videos i got back into helped me regain the passion for training, i used to kickbox go to the gym and do calisthenics but then 6 months ago i gave them all up and put about 12kg, last week i got back into kickboxing and training but the comeback is very hard i am weaker slower and i felt embarassed going back to the gym in this shape but i've done this shit before, good luck in your journey to everyone reading! Stay on your game
hope your better now!
Congratulations man, I'm struggling to get into it and more. I know I'm coming too. Excellent motivational video
Loving the journey man!! Incredible work!!
Great job mate! Awesome progression!
Inspiring! I'm at that point where I can come off a wall for 10-20 seconds but have a low success rate with entries. This gives me the motivation to keep training!!!
Respect for you Jamie!
your BRAVE!
u have no idea how much u've inspired me!
amazing video for such an amazing young guy.
Incredibal! Congratulations Bro! Nice Work
Super inspiring! I've been attempting to learn how to raise up from having my knees resting on my triceps. Awesome video. You're the man! I'm posting this on Facebook :)
Thank you for sharing your journey. It is hard sometimes for me to understand my own processes. So when I saw the perseverence it took you to reach your goal it has inspired me to consistently work towards my goals. Thank you. Namaste
Good motivation bro once i fell on my lower back and got hurt terribly since that moment i never tried it again but now im going to try hard and finally learn handstand. 💪💪💪 Keep the good work lad
Holy cow that's amazing...

Awesome video man and really inspiring. I will definitely try this out. I always wanted to do a handstand.
My man, i am gonna start posting videos. Hopefully i will achieve handstands to. You inspired me a lot. And the most amazing thing is your body transformation. You look really ripped at the end.

Bravo man impressive how persistance toi were..way to go dude
got me pumped just before my workout thx!
Go hard or go home bro :)
You're an inspiration, man
Thx man. Good job. Inspires me to train more to reach the same goal.
I can easily do it, but horizontally! It's my fav exercise!
😂😂😂
Human flag huh?
😂😂😂
Sleep?
Very inspiring. I'm just starting to feel out the balance from pressing my knees into my arms, but I need to continue developing strength, flexibility, and technique in other areas before I fully commit. I'm optimistic though. In 2020 my mobility and pain was at it's worst so I'm grateful for where I've gotten so far.
Congatulations and thank You for inspiring me. I have the same fear but I wont stop.
Simply awesome job dude. Nice dedication !!
Thanks a lot bro! I appreciate that :)
always remember this : fall down one hundred times? get up one hundred and one times =]
Help, I cant get down after the 101th time
Handstand journey is amazing. That feeling when you are in a handstand somewhere in the woods and remember your first tries...
I wish I recorded my absolute first attempt and look at it now, 3 years later
Super and inspiring. Thanks for making this!
Thanks for sharing your handstand journey with us. I’m so pleased you were able to persevere and get there.
I am terrified of handstands and rolly polly but I’m slowly conquering that fear. Congrats to ya 🥂
Thanks for the support! That fear is so real!!! Till now I'm still afraid of doing handstand on parallelites. Hope I can overcome that as well haha
How on Earth do you think this isn’t impressive? This is amazing!!!
