Ok, i wasn't expecting much when i was looking at this recipe, but yesterday i made it and indeed! WOW! The spice mix was perfect, i did add Chili Spice and swapped cured sausages to hot Italian sausages i had frozen (baked on 450 for 45 min, then tossed them like suggested). This recipe is going into our usual recipes we make on a monthly basis! :) Thank you
I'm from South Africa. Came across the recipe by chance and tried it 👌🏻 I just added fresh Chilli and coriander and it was wow. I also squeezed lime on the the shrimp and let it marinate with the Cajun spice😋

Just made this tonight. Haven't had Jambalaya in years, and yes it was good. The only alternations I made was added chicken thighs, and the cooking time was reduced by a few minutes. My shrimp were done in about 7 1/2 minutes. Definitely a keeper recipe!
@@IslandVibeCooking can you please tell me the recipe for the best jambalaya ever? Looked through all comments and there is no description box or anything with it
I love Jambalaya, in fact I crave it. It’s hard to find restaurants around me that make a nice Jambalaya. I tried this today, I had to double the recipe because my family is the size of a small army… this recipe is perfect. Exactly what I was looking for!
Thank you for sharing your recipe, it was easy to follow and I've only given a taste test, and it is really good. Can't wait till it's done. Thank you.
If I make it again, I’ll cook the rice separately. When the rice is added per the recipe, you run the risk of undercooking the rice and overcooking the shrimp.
I guess I'm in the undercooked rice club, too. 2nd attempt: mushy rice (damnitman). I'll get it dialed in one of these days. I don't want to cook them separately.
I've been making this from an old recipe 15+ yrs ago and have done my own thing. Thought I'd check to see if this New Englander is doing it right. Thank-you, it seems I am. Will try adding cajun w/creole seasoning. Great instructions.
Looks good will make that tonight I will let you know 👍 Yup that was more than good... Thank you much lady 😘.. I love this recipe. I was just scrolling through jambalaya recipes because I just accidentally made a jambalaya and wanted to see how close it was. 😂 I marinated chicken in melted butter, garlic, cayenne, and a lot of a really good Cajun seasoning I get from my Cajun husband's favorite restaurant. After a half an hour I fried the chicken in the marinade in a cast iron skillet until it browned. I tossed in cut up celery, bell pepper, and onion. And sautéed until veggies were transparent and sausage was brown. I added some broth and cooked it a while longer. Meanwhile I fried some raw rice in a bit of oil until golden. Then I took the chicken out, chopped it up and tossed it back in with the toasted rice. Cooked covered until it was done. About half way through I realized my made up recipe was really danged close to what I thought jambalaya might be and sure enough, yep!
Darn good recipe thurrrr, I hadn’t made jambalaya before, mom did many times growing up though, it’s a weird experience tasting a similar dish to the one you remember from the house you grew up in, kind of a surreal experience! Thank you for posting!
