- Al McClure runs his Insane Blown Hemi Altered at the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car at only it's 2nd meeting.. Check out the awesome bit of driving on the 2nd pass where the car gets horribly out of shape..
These guys have the greatest heart and guts in drag racing. That level of power on such a short and narrow car....
I built a wild ride out of a Pontiac two door bubble top car back in 1969-70. I cut everything off from the fire wall forward. And made 4 foot longer rail front end with ten spoke wheels on the front, big slicks out back. A 1967 big block Pontiac motor blown an fuel injection set up. Wild ride took a lot to keep it straight down the track it ran solid 9.25 sec which was great back then. My favorite racer that I made was my 52 Packard limo purple and dove gray metal flake paint job. With original straight 8 motor all souped up with two big turbos and four fuel injection carb set up. I used to run it mostly for show at the gasser wars back then for laughs. Had two fake dummies in the back dressed in top hat and tails they looked like they where right out of the 1920’s. Got tons of laughs and had a blast. I really miss the old days of racing.
Before each pass, the regular racers are thinking about what their time is going to be. Before each pass, the fuel altered drivers are thinking about where their car is going to end up.
Fuel Altereds, guardrail to guardrail in 6 seconds flat.
Awesome video, love those Hemi's!
Those altered jockeys had a big sack. Used to love watching them in their day.
Back when tv had drags every weekend instead of the garbage they have on now these and super stocks were the most fun to watch, Wide World Of Sports was the weekend, today it’s how to cook food or how to sew, or how to make your life Green screw that go out and burn some rubber that’s why my 2nd car was a 500 HP 1966 GTO in the early 70,s
Too freakin right
Oh yeah I loved watching pro-stocks in the 90s (mopar)
Wide world of sports hi jumps into those little pools, remember that crazy shit.
You go Dan ! 🔥✌
That narrow wheelbase gets squirrelly every time. But when they do hookup it looks like it's on rails.
I did that many years ago and was good at it. Fast too ! That first one shown on the track, reminded me of myself back then. He just had a certain “style” about him, as did I. I would work that mop with a flair and didn’t miss a spot. Thanks for the memories ! 🇺🇸😁
Man I know the good old days. I worked in performance development at Chrysler engineering and was also a driver. 69 on had lots time around everything we had.
Altereds have to be my favorite cars because you dont know whats going to happen
True that! And I love listening to them wine. Such a marvelous rev up.
They're also the best looking in my eyes by far.
Not bad actually. Just a little crossover at the end . A little short cut to the exit 😎
Great video.
Mopar power baby ....
The person guiding him , puts him back off his rubber track . Not even close .
Question: are these guys racing 1/4 mile or 1000 ft or 880 ft or what?.....
1/4 mile hon.
Haha.... how far away are the spectators in Oz ? May as well watch it on RUclips. lol
Low% nitro stuff is actually a lot harder to tune because of the way alky speeds up the ignitions process of the fuel.
USA vs Australia and New Zealand , in September at Sydney international drag way , can not wait !!!!!!!@
It may been a dumb question but why do so many people have mops ???
The cars go into water before the burnouts and it gets on the track. The mops dry the water for saftey
The Accelerator that would make sense just never seen to see em do any thing with em lol
Also, lots of time alcohol will slosh out the tank vent after the burnout and the mop can will be used to remove it from the surface. It can also be used to wipe up any other fluids on the track but hopefully water or alky are the only ones.
Horribly out of shape REALLY!
david wright not really ! They bait you in with some nonsense headline. I do like those Old school races though 😊
You drive a blown altered and see how those sudden movements wich cause you to switch lane feel at 360 kmh. If he didnt control it when it got out of shape it could've ended very bad.
The fact they let him make a 3rd pass is beyond me!! Them auzzys are scared that’s for sure
Unfamiliar with the term "mops." What does that mean in american?
pretty hard to have a sport with NO spectators.
terry brady think its a track test day idk
They need to bring TNN back on.. For this reason
"Flinty460"....is that referring to a BBF? As in 7.5 liters... If so, I'm all in.
I'm pretty sure if they say Hemi. It's a Chrysler. No phord
Nitro the shit cuz it makes shit explode 😉
That's awesome these guys are insane:)
They could run 4 wide and not have to move the crowd back😲
Burnouts are great in person but pretty boring on video. Maybe it's just me but I can't do 30 seconds for the burnout just to watch 5 seconds worth of down the track. I think I'll watch fishing.
@westbender 820 oh, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings?
@@normanclature9819 probably not, your just an idiot trouble maker
Over rated description for the quality of the crap camera work.
Shot shorts and a green car🤨
Ozzies on nitro on fuel altereds......better.....
Click bait
1/4 mile mops
I'm just here to watch these guys smash their cars, why else?
Kalle
Why does flintys videos get dislikes?
Littleman_4 because some people are fucken idiots.
Too dam long. Edit them down to what folks want to see. The action, not cars being backed up.
That sucked.
Clickbait. Paused the ads at the end of video. 👎
Richard Alvis obviously have no idea what clickbait actually means. Its a Blown Hemi Altered and it ends up in the wrong lane. Pretty clear cut description, run along now...
@@Flinty460 noticed in the comment section that there were similar comments. Iguess you and I disagree on what "way out of shape is". Congratulations on your text tone, you must be a real brave sort of person.✌
@@richardalvis4695 We obviously have a different interpretations of what "out of shape" means but in my books anyone that crosses the centre line to this extent is up there.. Nothing to do with being brave, I just don't appreciate being accused of "clickbait" for no reason.
Crap driving
