Great build. Also you may want to add a piece of noodle to the piece of pipe you are laying your top tube onto, keeping the bottom part of the top tube from being scratched.
Thank you!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Only one difference in my application is I have a big table vice at the end of my workbench that I will come up and out from it with plenty of “real estate” 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Wow! I love the way you just got right to the point - too many RUclips videos are 5 minutes of content "crammed into" a 30 minute video. Well done! Now I just need to figure out a way to mount the base plate to something I can clamp into my WorkMate - shouldn't be hard!
Thanks man! I appreciate you watching! Sorry for the late response I was in Europe!!! Hope to see you on the channel more often!!! Don’t forget to subscribe!
I like the idea, I have always been told to clamp around the seat tube. I find a way to mount a block of wood have a hole drilled in the middle split the block in half and mount it to the clamps. Then you will be able to clamp around the seat post.
I have a 57lb ebike I want to hang. Love this idea !! I have a carport with 6X6 support posts. Bought the 18” pipe, base, and clamps. Like the pool noodle idea.
Great stuff! I'm thinking MAYBE you could mount it to your bench with bolts. First, countersink the nuts into your bench with expoxy (and have a hole drilled through so the bolt can go deeper). Then simply grab your whole rig, and drop it in place. I BET there's even a way to make a quick-detach... just thinking out loud.
Your local source for your light-weight tubes and their tube label for hunting them down? Plumbing pipe is a little heavy and their iron threads give-out under too much tightening.
Thank you! I try and keep the channel entertaining, informative and to the point. Sometime I hit it sometimes I don’t! Thanks for the awesome comment I hope you subscribe! Have a great one!
Excellent idea. Loved it when your daughter removed the splinter you left when you cut the pool noodle. … Put another mount outside and you have a station to wash your bike.
I don’t see why not. I will say the further away from the base you go the lighter the bike should be. But I don’t see any issues with 35lbs. I’m away on business but I will hang one of my 35lb plates on it and put a video out! Don’t forget to subscribe!
@@GWDadventures awesome! Thank you. I have a shop i could definitely use this design in! I might just build it and adjust to my weight needs. I got 3 bikes and 2 kids bikes so, it would be pretty easy i think to build to suit. Awesome job!
@@GWDadventures I went to home Depot today and found the pieces that I needed except for the bar clamps! I'm so bummed! Perhaps there's an Amazon link somewhere that I might be able to purchase those?

Resting beautiful frame on a metal pipe? Stand needs development. Some sort of 6" length of PVC cut open and put perpendicular on the pipe that you can rest the frame in safely to clamp up? Good luck.
Yep get what your saying…. Haven’t done an update to the video but a simple pool noodle around the frame solves that issue. You just have to have a little ingenuity. Thanks for the comment!

watched at least a dozen bike stand video's and this is by far the best one .
Thanks @kevinm919 much appreciated!
That’s what I’m talking about! Nice idea!

!!! Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! Love the Idea !!! Cheers !!!
Thank you! Hope to see you on the channel more! Don’t forget to smash those buttons! Have a great one!
If you put the pool noodle on the bar and use your clamp's rubber grips, you'll get a solid grip without risk of damaging your frame.
Yep, you are 100% right on!!! Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Well done and practical.

Or you can have the pipe mount to a wall and go straight out from it.
Dude, awesome, simple and straight to the point. I'm at the hardware store right now buying the set up of parts!

Or just put that slit open pool noodle over the frame section that's going in the clamp
That’s very clever. Definitely will fit my needs. Going to make one! 🌟
Awesome! I’m going to do an update video for a tweak but all in all worked perfect for me! Hope you can subscribe my friend!

How awesome was that dial tone to start your video and loud bells throughout. It definitely WAS NOT annoying and make me wanna burn down the workshop.

Nice! Can you rotate the clamp so you could clamp from above the top tube? My bike doesn't have thru frame cables. Thanks!

Hahahah the la for watching much appreciated! And yes next up will be the wash stand
would it have been easier to just put the pool noodle arround the bike frame bar?
Amazing this would take me 6 days vs 6:18.
headed to lowes right now
Awesome let me know how it turns out!!!
I mounted mine from the ceiling of my garage
Everything was great, then you used the pipe clamps,it all when down hill from there😆🤣🤪
Will this hold a 35lb downhill bike?

Hahahah I work plenty with my hands I was just trying to rush it because I hate long DIY videos.
