Hey hey hey! Thanks for making these videos! I have played a lot of AoM back in the days as a kid but I was never good at it. Currently learning the game again and I certainly agree with where you placed Hades. Its pretty easy to get a good archer build going with him.

Keep up the good work :D (Aoe3 veteran, anxiously looking for Home City shipment to come and save me(I Know there ain't no Home City Shipments in AOM XD))
Yep pretty fair tier list. Could argue for Freyr being a bit easier to play tho because of the archaic age power (being beginner friendly) other than that pretty spot on.
mostly aggree. I would put Thor in hardest tier though. His bonuses while strong in the long run, leave him really vulnerable early on. It's easy to fall into the trap of getting too much upgrades early on instead of units. Freyr has the edge here cause while simular playstyle (probably want 2 armories researching for him), he has the boar god power to defend vs early rushes.
It's really wild to see you rank Set so highly in difficulty, considering he's the one I do the best with. Only reason I don't play more Ra is due to lack of Anubis. Just too strong to ever go for the other two if I have the choice.
Would love to see a tips and tricks guide for Retold! I saw in one of your videos what appears to be you queing up tasks for villagers to do after they're done? I might have misunderstood, but if there's a hotkey for that, that's a gamechanger :D (both gameplay and technical tips are great)
Jumping from one god to other is no joke here, even in the campaign i was playing in hard difficulty and it was very hard for me switching from poseidon to zeus
Problem with Gaia is you can fall into a trap using automatons early on which are surprisingly weak. Also Caladria can be very tricky to use effectively as she needs bit of micro and can get shot down easily if you're not careful.
When the replay system is this bugged/unusuable I would have liked them to have fairly consistent small patches altering over-tuned aspects of the game. If the replay system is in fairly good working order, then leaving the overtuned stuff can be okay for a shortish time - as you can actually watch each specific thing yourself (you don't have to rely upon a specific RUclipsr's focusses & such). Just wanted to bring that up/out there.
This is hard to actually answer because what is the metric? Sure atlantean builds at least early game could be simpler on paper but the civ mechanics are obtuse. Meanwhile it could whats the easiet civ to get you a win consistently ?
I play Oranos and to me for someone who's new he's the hardest. He doesn't have any stats increase, anything that research faster, anything with more hp. It's just about vision and hitting units to see them. So I think pros can make the most of him but not a newbie. Hope he will get some buff in terms of stats
If you utilize his sky passages well, I'm pretty sure he can be strong. I mean, they're like free underworld passages all over the map. With a few well placed sky passages you have nearly no vil walking time, you can just retreat in an instant, if your opponent is attacking you and so much more. I don't really know if he needs to be buffed, once people figure out how to play him. The game is still very new, so I would just wait for a bit and see what there is to come, since there is no meta or anything right now.
can you make a detailed guide to play the game better, for example how many workers should be hired in the first age, what buildings should be built, what materials should we focus on and what upgrades should we do in the second age, can you make a comprehensive video about the transition times and the number of soldiers from age to age, I really need this, I'm losing to everyone
i uploaded a video called "easy build orders.." which will help you for the first age for all civs. Once you get a good base from that, it makes everything else a bit easier

What to do against the mino rush? And Gaia is listed easy but how to defend with them because their units are really weak? Tips are really welcome because I like to play with Gaia. New player here and I love the game!
I disagree with seth being hardest. He is pretty straight forward with building monuments and barracks in a small area to maximize the cost reduction. The animals of seth are trash with their low dmg and hp. Good video anyways love your content
An argument can be made that defending is harder and attacking is easier. I would encourage people to start with an aggressive siv. Aggression is necessary to win, and tends to be easier if you can do it early. Defending and then countering with a timed attack is not easy. Also there is less pressure when attacking. While a defender may be too scared to leave their base and give up map control
Gaia has always been my favorite. If not for the mechanics, then purely for aesthetics. That she's the easiest is purely coincidental. And since I'm just in it for fun, optimization is not my priority.
please tell me what im doing wrong, im just stucked lossing vs IA and my friends cuz i dont know how to make army or phase eras, I do the clasic BOs, like X to food, Y to gold, Z to wood, temple, switch, then in clasical i dont know how to take from this part, when make army when do upgrades to technology or things, and how to get to manage resources to do the next jump... i need the basics to starting flexing all knowledge. it exist? any BO to Classical to heroic and so and so?
Honestly Egyptian RA sucks big time until we can build Fort. Units suck, myth units suck, while i played campaign with RA in one mission enemy literally killed every single military unit of mine, even though i had like 170/170 pop used, from those i had like 40 50 workers, and even though i empowered buildings they still gather food very slow
I think Kronos is the easiest Atlantean god. He gets timing and tempo advantages all over the place: Faster construction into time shifting for forwarding without walking citizens out, extra myth units for rushes, and getting refunds for those myth units when they die (and they will- it's not as though prometheans or automatons are durable) Oranos' sky passages are hard to use effectively, and trying to leverage Gaia's bonuses at the wrong time will leave you open to attack and cost you the game. Kronos encourages timing and pressure, not sitting back and letting your opponent overwhelm you.
All of the Atlantean gods are hard to play due to their complex and unique mechanics (Kronos time shift, Oranos sky passage, and Gaia lush) despite having the easiest economy to manage.
I disagree with Gaia being easiest. On paper it seems so but a lot of her bonuses have long term payoffs, and Atlanteans already have a pretty weak classical age army so she really struggles against aggressive play. Trying to utilize her bonuses like faster eco techs and cheaper promotions at the wrong time will cost you the game
That would apply more to a list about how hard they are to win with or a general tier list rather than hard to play for a new/newer player I think. From what I have seen people think Gaia is pretty weak so what you say makes sense, but it doesn't make her hard to play mechanically.
I agree, focusing on eco and walls early on can distract you from applying pressure and lose you map control, I also find her early units and powers are a bit meh or just difficult to use effectively. For a noob Gaia definitely isn't easy to play well.
None of the norse gods should really be in easy right? They have to build two different villagers + micro ox carts and also need to use their army to make buildings which can be hard when you need them to attack/defend.
Thor & his new benefits might push him towards the easy side, actually. Dwarfs become cheaper & you practically don't need to make gatherers anymore, and each upgrade at the armory gives you a new dwarf. You can also power up the Hersirs at the very start, making them decent fighters (especially against myth units), generate favor faster, and obviously collect relics & build anything. Not to mention both of your 2nd age options provide healing. It's pretty simplified if you ask me, but probably takes one or two plays for a newcomer to really get the hang of it. (Like all the other Northern options)
idk why people put set as hard, with so many free units and insane god powers, just coached a friend for 1 hour and he won his first ranked game(first time playing aoe games)

That's a weird thing your autism has targeted
Means he can’t peak at my units now!
New to the game and I like Gaia a lot. Helps that atlantean build order is like 10x easier than Egyptians and Norse.
