Hi Rick and Heather. The S&L certainly looks like a smashing van and it's nice to hear that a builder can guarantee a fixed price so now hopefully we may see you both in a new van in 2024👍. Cracking vlog as always and good luck.
Nice vans, interesting on the insulation and great to see one in construction too. Great if they will fix a price as we know it's a nightmare otherwise. Great to have a look around, thanks for sharing. All the best of luck on your hunt for the perfect van for you... all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Another great van. I’m sure you will have considered both these options but Vantage and Consort both do a similar layout. We’re collecting our Devon Aztec XL next week. We already had a 5.4m Devon Colorado which we loved so decided to get the 6.36 Aztec. We decided on this model because we loved the very wide ledge at the back for cushion storage and the boot space is great. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.
Another interesting vlog and nice to see mid build to so you have a better insight into what's done. Great that they will guarantee the price too unlike so many. Now its the options list of what to have. Thanks for sharing and good to see some nice and neat ideas.
We address the Vantage and Consort in a future video, the Aztec XL is a great van good rear and front but a small kitchen and shower curtain, we’re looking at one in April although we’ve already filmed one. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
@@RickandHeather That’s great, I will check out your Aztec video later, I must have missed that. I was really thinking the Vantage and Consort vans matched your requirements best. It’s so difficult choosing the right van but after having the 5.4m van we are used to a small kitchen and bathroom and garage storage was our priority. Having said that, I hope we haven’t made a mistake. 🤣
Informative as always with the decision process. Interesting to see a smaller camper van company and its ability to adapt to a clients requirements. Be interesting to know the average price of these smaller companies camper vans, versus the big companies prices, balanced with considerations on quality of insulation, build, fixtures and fittings. Though as always, it's a personal perspective. Good on you both, for the very sensible and full research you are doing before committing to a company. It appears your layout preference is known, its just all the other factors now. The layout decision though for most, is often the biggest of all the decisions, after budget of course. I hope all the planets align for you soon and no one can say, you have not done your research. All the best for your decisions in the future with choice.
We’re doing a lot more research on this purchase as it’s a long term investment, we were very impressed with the company and what they had to say and offer.
Really informative video and good to know that options can be added ie diesel heating etc into the build. Like the fact it’s similar to the Vantage / Consort layout. Looking forward to more of your personal mini reviews in the future 👍
The Vantage and Consort don’t have the little desk behind the driver, although the Consort fridge is set further back allowing the seat to go fully backwards it doesn’t have the same space at the front, the Vantage Eos has a big cupboard behind and the Neo is slightly better with a thin pantry but neither make are like the Apollo, the only close comparison is the Devon Aztec XL. In a couple of weeks there’s a video showing all these.
Hi both a great video and I enjoyed seeing how the vans are built and the processes involved I can see why you like the S&L vans they look really well made and finished off and it’s nice you can personalise them with extras and spec to make sure the van meets your exact needs Looking forward to seeing which one you decide to go for Take care both Daniel I agree with the light grey!
Very interesting video, especially as you can see how they are built, have just looked at the full review, of the Apollo ,which has so much storage and obviously well thought out.I assume build time is about 12 months , how large is the garage, will it take 2 reasonably sized chairs , if so has got us thinking now ,thanks for sharing
The garage is a decent size yeah we’re convinced our chairs would fit easily, it’s a great van, if you give Anthony a call (details in the video description or on the internet and the Facebook group) I’m sure he’ll measure it for you) please if you do tell him where you saw the van! 😊
Great to see vans in various stages of build Rick, I, like you and many others will be stuffing insulation in door pillars and doors if our van ever arrives from Elddis. I got the feeling this van was preferred over the IH and the price lock has to be a winner. Cheers K.
The IH is a lovely van but we’re still awaiting pricing and availability…. We’re not chasing them, Anthony has been very approachable and open at S&L so it’s definitely one of our favourites for sure 😊
Good opportunity to see them in build state. Interesting to see before anything is in it. Sounds like they company are very fair guaranteeing the prices. Seems a very good standard of build. Thanks guys we are finding your thoughts and discussions really interesting. 🙏👏👍
Lovely vans them, whats the lead time on them?? Build quality looks fantastic. Love it when you see them under construction and all the work that has to go into them, then you understand why they are the price they are. Is this a top contender for Pearl v2.0 🙂
The lead time is based on Fiat obviously but they can build a van in a month, it was great to see them in part build we’re neither denying or confirming what we’re doing yet 😊
Nice that they can custom build. MHO, I would like to see a fold down table behind the driver's seat to give you room whilst driving, then fold up when needed. Would you stick with a manual or would you go for an automatic?
The automatic adds £6000 to the price as it’s a £4000 extra option for the box and you have to have the 180hp engine upgrade which is £2000 (Fiat prices) I’d rather spend that on other things as I’m quite happy with my 140hp manual at the moment
call the van AME after Amy Johnson who was the first female (British) to single handed flew from Englang to Australia Cheers Roland shepherd ( Australia)
Ermmmm don’t believe Gadget John’s scaremongering… many dealerships are having LPG fitted, Brownhills do, Devon do, there’s always going to be LPG but I appreciate it’s harder to find…. We’ll be going diesel heating so the gas will only be for cooking and a tank will last over a year….
@@Grt234 I know how much I use a year with heat and cooking, my offset is going towards diesel heating as it’s the main source of use with the gas, as I say just the cooker alone is a very small amount of gas and I know one full tank will easily last a year even if we do our usual 80 odd nights. We travel enough to plan a route via the LPG stations and never let it get low, plan ahead and top up where we can. Eventually if it becomes a bind we’ll look at alternatives but I honestly think we’re a while away from that point.
If anyone is interested in the S&L the company details are in the video description and they also have a website and facebook page 👍

That's great the fixed price.
We were very impressed with the company 😊
Great vlog, great van add the usual extras plus a truma diesel and 180 bhp engine …. Sweet😂
Yes there’s a few options to look at!

Nice van, like the storage at the back and it's easily accessible.
That’s why we got one! 🤣
Looks like a great van. Hope that you manage to secure it. I liked both of the colours but preferred the darker one. Take care Gill
I originally liked the dark until Anthony said it looks like an Amazon van 🤣
Lovely vans them. Build quality looks brill compared to mainstream stuff. Do prefer them to those IH you viewed. Cracking👍
Yeah it was really great to see them being built and how approachable the company are letting me film anything
