Spoilers unfortunately it's not him. Before John Hurt died I really wanted a series about the 8th and The Warrior not together but alternating every episode. Still think it would be great for him to truly get his time shine at The Doctor.
Hehehe yeah I Looked it up on line to make sure he hadn't done it before (at least that had been caught on the web) if he had I was going to throw the opening of "Listen" at him
I'm mad that we didn't get to really see him in action as the doctor I know he did a movie and a mini episode, but I wish he had a season or something.
Yes, he was criminally underutilized. Nothing against Christopher Eccleston, but if it was up to me in 2005 I would've brought him back for Series 1, and then brought him back again after Whittaker instead of Tennant.
One of my favourite Who speeches...and Matt Smith took my breath away in that scene. He was absolutely brilliant. I loved watching Paul McGann perform it here. In fact I love all the clips I've seen of past Doctors performing speeches from recent episodes, like this one and the Pandorica speech.
Given Eight's adventures in the Divergent universe, some of this fits him really well, especially "I walked in universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman"...
I'd love to see the classic Doctors attempt some of Tennant's speeches and probably Chris's speech in Bad Wolf at the end where he confronts the Daleks and tells them he's going to get Rose back no matter what it takes
I think McGann is the bridge between Classic and New Who. Too bad he didn’t get a series. Love his big finish stuff, made him my favorite. Hopefully he gets a spin-off show, since Russell’s back and has always wanted a good spin-off.
if he had time to prepare for this speech...I think it would be better than matt smith...he could of been one of the best tv doctors (CHECK OUT HIS AUDIO DOCTOR WHO ADVENTURES!!)
That just cements to me something that, if you've seen any "Day Of The Doctor" videos with me commenting, I would've said with the subtlety of a 6 year old caffene addict with ADD but...he should've been The War Doctor!
A good chunk of this speech is about his doctors adventures in the Big Finnish stories, mostly to me it seems "universes where the rules of physics" is the Zagreus arc .
GoldBlaze, Yeah I would totally love to hear 9 read it, sadly that will probably never be, unless he does a Tom Baker, and eventually does come back to the role. But Ecc, doesn't seem like the kind to do that.
I agree. Tom and Christopher has not done any of the speeches and mostly likely will not. I'm wondering if anyone would ask Matt to recite his own speeches at conventions. That would be interesting to see. Just a thought.
Einez Crespo Actually i would love for Matt to try his hands at some of the speeches from Big Finish that the 6th og 7th Doctor made. Since all the classic doctors have done new who speeches perhaps it would be time for some of the new doctors to do some a few classic Doctor Who speeches. Personally i think it would be awesome if Matt could do his version of the first doctor´s one day i shall come back speech.
+TheSolarminiteBomb Christopher Eccleston really really loves playing villains, its why he didnt have fun playing The Doctor and probably why he won't reprise the role for a good long time.
Lord Christoff I've actually already done that for you, combined "The Long Song" (Wake up) With Paul's reading, check my channel feed.... your welcome lol
sure the fans didn't love Rings of Akhaten. But i did. And i love Luther. Neil Cross the writer of both would have been an excellent Who showrunner. Certainly better than Chibnall, writer (in my opinion) of the worst post 2005 doctor who episodes ever. I liked a total of 2 episodes this season. Maybe 3 at most if you include the recent new years special. Jodie is great, but her scripts are fucking awful. I blame Chibnall for the fact that her character is still undefined as anything other than "fun" or "kind". By the end of Series 5 you knew exactly who the eleventh doctor was. Hell you know who ten was by the end of his first episode. Jodie is forced to just be a mish-mash of previous doctors with no real identity of her own. I love her as an actor. And i look forward to more. A shame Chibnall had no fucking idea what he wants to do with the show and thus had postponed the next series till 2020. If you don't have any idea what to do with the show do the respectable/moral thing. Refuse the job and suggest someone who could actually do it justice. Maybe Paul Cornell, Neil Cross or hell, someone like Tony Jordan, creator of Hustle. (a brilliant stylish show. Someone like Jordan could have been perfect) Honestly, the reason the Beeb chose Moffat to takeover after Davies is because Moffat wrote frankly the best episodes of Davies' era. Chibnall wrote the WORST episodes of both Davies AND Moffats era.) The decision to choose him to take over is frankly laughable to me. Its like the BBC WANT Doctor Who to die again.
I love how he slowly starts to really FEEL, and get into the speech as its story intensifies.
All his practice with big finish
The professionalism of reading this for the first time in the moment, but still conveying eight. Paul McGann deserves a series of his own
If Peter Capaldi regenerated back to Paul Mcgann, I would be totally ok with that.
Spoilers unfortunately it's not him. Before John Hurt died I really wanted a series about the 8th and The Warrior not together but alternating every episode. Still think it would be great for him to truly get his time shine at The Doctor.
5 years later, he does return...
uhmm....
Well we ALMOST got there…
Hearing Paul say ”take it all, baby” is something I never knew I wanted
I love how McGann is expecting the Stonehenge one. How many have done that one at conventions now?
Hehehe yeah I Looked it up on line to make sure he hadn't done it before (at least that had been caught on the web) if he had I was going to throw the opening of "Listen" at him
I think every classic doctor has done it except Tom. New Who only Matts done it cuz well you know XD
RassilonTDavros i
I'm mad that we didn't get to really see him in action as the doctor I know he did a movie and a mini episode, but I wish he had a season or something.
Dystride hes done over 100 radio dramas as the 8th doctor that are 100% canon and fully acted.
A lot of his stuff is on Spotify now, it's really good honestly
Yes, he was criminally underutilized. Nothing against Christopher Eccleston, but if it was up to me in 2005 I would've brought him back for Series 1, and then brought him back again after Whittaker instead of Tennant.
The sound of his voice is so very wonderful to hear 🥰💕
One of my favourite Who speeches...and Matt Smith took my breath away in that scene. He was absolutely brilliant.

No one can beat Matt with this one. Bit this was excellent. Really enjoyed it
Capaldi could match Matt. I could even imagine Tennant and Eccelston doing this speech.
I'd love to see the classic Doctors attempt some of Tennant's speeches and probably Chris's speech in Bad Wolf at the end where he confronts the Daleks and tells them he's going to get Rose back no matter what it takes
man, I wish I could meet Paul McGann he's a huge inspiration for me, especially his voice acting in Big Finish
I got to meet him in 2013, he was one of the most amazing people i have ever met
All it needs to be perfect, is the music.
I've already done that for you. Already on the solarminite channel
numenlad
You're awesome!! Going there now.
Daniel Haire cool comment there let us know what u think! Subscribe and check out our movie reviews!
How does Paul McGann manage to still be the sexiest of the older Doctors? Granted, he's as much a part of NuWho as anyone since he reprise his role...
I think McGann is the bridge between Classic and New Who. Too bad he didn’t get a series. Love his big finish stuff, made him my favorite. Hopefully he gets a spin-off show, since Russell’s back and has always wanted a good spin-off.
well.... Tom Baker himself said "Paul Mcgann is a very handsome man" and i couldnt agree more
I wish they would let Paul come back and play the Doctor again
Matt's version is still the best but this wasn't bad for a spur of the moment performance.
this was a cold read. if he had a bit to reharce, he would smash the performance
joshua powell true
That was really good for only just getting the speech just then
Awesome to see the speech matt did and the emotion and energy put into it was amazing
Brilliant, met Paul 2 weeks ago, fantastic bloke!
He still has passion for his role, I love it so much
The speech starts around 2:50
*flies away in a Type 40
My favorite doctor reading my favorite speech
if he had time to prepare for this speech...I think it would be better than matt smith...he could of been one of the best tv doctors (CHECK OUT HIS AUDIO DOCTOR WHO ADVENTURES!!)

this was brilliant! :D
Can't wait for the *thing* =P
First time I've heard that speech without the music in the background. It's better with the music but Paul still put a lot of emotion into it.
A good chunk of this speech is about his doctors adventures in the Big Finnish stories, mostly to me it seems "universes where the rules of physics" is the Zagreus arc .
This makes me wanna re listen to some of my fav Paul McGann big finish stories so much lmao
I loved that so much!
OMG, this is so perfect!
Listen to this video and play this at the same time, it really sets the mood... Doctor Who: "The Rings of Akhaten" - Wake Up (Without speech)
"I've seen things you wouldn't believe..." Does that include attack ships off the shores of Orion?
"C beams, glittering, off the Tannhauser Gate..."
Best part of that speech. The omega reference.
GoldBlaze, Yeah I would totally love to hear 9 read it, sadly that will probably never be, unless he does a Tom Baker, and eventually does come back to the role. But Ecc, doesn't seem like the kind to do that.

Erikjust I agree. It would great to see Matt read that speech. :)
Erikjust It's not as if 7 hadn't done speeches in his actual TV appearances (6 might have too, but I haven't watched much of him).
+TheSolarminiteBomb Christopher Eccleston really really loves playing villains, its why he didnt have fun playing The Doctor and probably why he won't reprise the role for a good long time.
i was there, he is awesome!
Best Doctor!
It was so cool to be there : P
Matts version will always be the best💙
I hope Jodie W regenerates into Paul McGann
Amazing, still.
My social study's teacher asked a person if he could read it he had brought the speech. So my social study's teacher got h to say it
he's just flat brilliant. makes me wish he got more than a movie and a short.
Lord Christoff I've actually already done that for you, combined "The Long Song" (Wake up) With Paul's reading, check my channel feed.... your welcome lol
Wow 👌
The COMPLETE Q&A is also available now on this channel
Nice, but still loved Matt's version.
Interesting how closely many of the pauses and accents resemble the Matt Smith version.
8th is my favorite Doctor
If u liked this check out the one with the music from ROA and a slide show. Also on this channel!
wow, that was great
That was amazing
His proof was eh got the paper back singned and showed us in class
Lol. This is sweet.
Schrenzo?? Think he means Scherzo
Who is the woman?

This is a little pointless when you can barely understand what he's saying
Worst speech of Doctor Who. Why are they waiting Pauls time with it
