Now your Hippy / Malibu a Go-Go, Rollerblading California Girl Kira/Marina - this is 70's, like 1976. Malibu Beach Barbie had already happened and blue eyed blondes and tans were all the rage - Farrah Fawcett, Cheryl Tiegs. Kira would have been wearing a cassette player while rollerblading with her plastic sun visor and striped sports socks, with dance tights. Los Angeles was the star maker capital and everyone went there to become famous and be seen - Muscle Beach. Also happening on TV big time then would have been Wonder Woman, Police Woman and the Bionic Woman.

Also amazing makeovers, when I boil wash my dolls I dip their hair and then comb it makes the hair lay down smoother. I love Sparkle Yes Barbie, I have 3 of them 🙈 I rerroted two with synthetic hair 1 blond one copper ginger and the 3rd one is on a MTM and I rerooted her with human hair. Keep spreading sparkle, glitter, joy and pastels!!!!

Nice to see the Jurassic Park outfits; this line is so good. I only have the one with the skirt, which I think is more of a curvy size, but I am considering getting one of the others. I would get them all, but they are $20 CAD on Amazon in Canada. Oh, well, at least they carry them.

I was doing a doll makeover while I watched! How fun is that? She has pink streaks that disappear when wet, good thing you showed me how to wash doll hair or I would never have known! Still needs work.

I gasped at the Fairy of the Garden doll!! I love her so much! I got in trouble with her because my mom told me not to take her clothes off (they don't go back on if you do) and I did it anyway... no regrets, she's still one of my favorite dolls!! She's on a made to move body now. 😅💕

The thrift “Theresa” doll looks just like “Whitney” from my favourite childhood line “Perfume n’ Pretty”- is Theresa and Whitney the same doll with different names or are they different? Sometimes the same Barbie will be named differently depending where they are, or is Whitney different because she has the “Steffi” face mould? I love Barbie history/ facts💗 there are so many wonderful aspects to this hobby of doll collecting!☀️

3. Meadowlands Flea Market, East Rutherford, NJ
4. Westchester Trains and Hobbies, White Plains, NY
5. FAO Schwarz, New York City
6. Toys R Us, East Rutherford, NJ
7. P!Q, East Rutherford, NJ
Best place with lowest prices on thrifted dolls is Value Village in Hawthorne. (Not sure where you live, but hopefully it's close enough to you!) I mean, vintage dolls are literally $1.99 or less. After sending this package to Arjen, I found an All American Teresa AND Barbie Fairytopia Magical Mermaid Kayla/Lea for 79 cents and 99 cents! 🤭 I nearly passed out as they are quite rare and pricey. American Thrift is also great, but they recently raised the doll prices to $1.99--$3.99. Meadowlands Flea Market is AWESOME for boxed dolls as is Westchester Trains and Hobbies. Happy thrifting! I hope you're able to find all the dolls of your dreams. 💖
Yes you live very close to were my parents live in Palisades Park! My husband and I just moved to Nc but I can have my mom check it out for me! Ty for listing all the places! How do you like the new toyrs r us? We moved before I was able to check it out!

I'm going to walk through Koreatown this weekend. 🤣 (Mostly because you got it in my head, and I want red bean shaved ice.) ANYWAY, I really like the new Toys R Us. The store is not as spectacular as the one in Times Square from my teenage years/twenties nor does it look exactly like the Toys R Us from my childhood, but it is an updated, open concept, two-floor wonder for kids of today. It's in American Dream so...there's an infinity of things to do. It's wedged between Nickelodeon Universe and Dreamworks Water Park. When you come back to visit your family, you definitely need to check it out! Great Barbie section!
