For the office cake: I think this wasn't the first time people "ganged up on him". OP could be the type of person who gets easily pranked by the people in his life which I can imagine gets frustrating quickly. Addition to that, it his workspace. Its work, not place for several pranks. I would hate it if I was pranked by all of my coworkers and boss. I wonder why they pranked only OP.
