Here’s my hot take: In present times they won’t get to the Hollow Earth proper, they’ll end up in a space between the Surface and the Hollow Earth, and it’s so hostile because of the radiation emanating from all of the portals to Hollow Earth. In the past Shaw and the expedition gets attacked by the Ion Dragon until Godzilla shows up, they fight for a while, Godzilla makes the Ion Dragon retreat setting up their rematch for the season finale.
With every episode it becomes more clear to me that this was written way before GvK. I don't think this is a bad show, it just feels real disconnected imo
I honestly felt Kentaro has been getting sidelined since his best moments in Episode 4, so hearing that he'll be struggling with loss in Episode 9 gives me hope.
@BiitoreinGoji94 Too many people keep overlooking the that that he's burnt out and feels abandoned, yet again, by his father. Kentaro was all energy and gung-ho to take on the adventure to find his still living father. Now he feels it was all a waste. All the sacrifice and near death experience were all for nothing in his mind now. He's "checked out". All things factored in...can we really blame him?

It could be a scenario where they don't fall completely into the Hollow Earth but maybe fall into a pocket between the surface and centre. It's been mentioned previously that there are Hollow spots in the bedrock and they did go through a sort of warp tunnel in KotM to get to another pocket to revive Godzilla. Some entrances could lead to these cavernous areas occupied by smaller Titans that have burrowed up to the surface seeking radiation.
9:01 you gotta understand that this is another part of the hollow earth. It's a different environment that suited for certain titans. Same thing for the temple from kotm and from dominion. He's Anders from Workaholics...and it shows. But I'm excited for the episode. I agree with most people below. Keiko is alive and those insect Titan babies acted as an accidental cocoon of sorts that allowed her survival into The Hollow Earth. But what do YOU guys think? Do you struggle to separate Anders Holm's Randa character from Anders Holmvick from Workaholics. Did those Titan bugs inadvertently SAVE Keiko's life and she's still alive? Not really, I do like his portrayal of randa. Perhaps it's my first time seeing the actor play this character instead of seeing him in other media. I'm not sure if keiko did survive in the hollow earth but it would be a surprise.

As for Keiko, if she is alive, I think by the more concentrated exposure to Hollow Earth radiation, she'll be aged, but just slightly I would imagine. Maybe equivalent to mid 50's.
Even though there is an unnecessary divide between Godzilla Minus One and The Monsterverse, I think we can all agree that Warner Bros. has a more coherent grasp on Godzilla than TOHO. The MonsterVerse has been telling a cohesive story and world developing over the past 10 years whereas TOHO is struggling to develop Godzilla into something more than a reboot-a-thon.

For me, the last 4 TOHO Godzilla films are as follows: Minus One Shin Final Wars Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. Crazy to think that the time between Final Wars and Shin only beat out the time between Shin and Minus One by just 5 years.
