One improvement over MOW:Assualt Squad 2 that I like is those trails the arcing artillery shells leave. Dosen't look stupid or unrealistic (to me at least), and helps you find the source of the shots more easily.
This game is truly so lackluster compared to the like of AS2 / GoH. I was so hyped for this too.... :( Yeah I know they're different teams blah blah... but that's even more the reason they should be looking at the competition and improving upon it, not going 10 steps backwards.
Is it me, or the animations of the soldiers is worse than the MOW AS2? 12:30 the animation where commander casually looks around even though he is in a middle of the tank battle is laughable. I really hope it is there just as a place holder or something and the devs will fix it in the final product.
@@andremesot5144 GOH= newer, better graphics, base game is more realistic, costs more, DLC and mods will come but you gotta wait Mowas= older, worse graphic, base game is a bit less realistic but it has years of dlcs and mods and factions + costs just 3 dollars
For those who have played both Call To Arms and Men of War 2 - are the controls easier in MOW2? I love both games, but I have a tremendously hard time with the unit controls in CtA.
I feel like for all the time it’s taken to get this game we already have Gates of Hell which is like a perfect blend of Men of war Assault squad 2 and the mod robz realism. Plus the Mowas2 multiplayer and modding community is still going strong. This feels like dlc/mod rather than a whole new game. Shame
It looks okay, but CtA looks far more polished, especially with MACE and other mods. It doesn't seem like many innovative things were done with this...
After MoW Cold War im skeptical about this studio, what a flop that was. This could easily be released as DLC for MoW Assault Squad, game engine looks practically the same. After all those years a new engine would be expected. Devs could not even be bothered to put in new voice lines, they're using the same ones they used in the previous game. Cash N Grab.
I grew up with the Men of War series. But a game for 2023.... This game could've graphically looked better; especially they should add First Person... The extra gore I see from this video looks nice, but nothing like a mod could add in Men of War Assault Squad 2. Graphics isn't everything but it could look different atleast! This isnt 2009, its 2023 man... Engine seemingly hasn't changed either and I doubt the pathfinding of the AI has changed that much. I could just play the previous games with mods and still get the SAME EXACT experience. I am worried the fumbled in this new addition that's it. I really hoped I am proved wrong though. But from First Impressions, just seeing the same game engine being used is worrisome,

Looks like they're using the exact same assets from AS1 and AS2, even the voice lines are the same. Think I'll stick with GOH for a while unless the full release looks like they tried something unique :/
You think this game was rushed and half-unfinished because of the war in Ukraine? Looks like they were trying to go somewhere, then left it unfinished and published it without polishing
This game is going to be absolute garbage, they copied a ton over from mowas 2 and they made it a lot more arcady. Just buy men of war assaupt squad 2 if youre interested in this franchise

I see what they are trying to do to improve apon mowas2, so far it looks good but it definitely needs a lot of changing and tweaking

i prefer CtA's over MoW2, They butched them from really badly i think from the MoWAS2 controls.
