I feel like being a zombie would probably bring sheer terror to anyone who knows about the PSI- storms and the c-consciousness taking over their minds yet they still have the ability to come back into their OWN consciousness and as Stalker Info's translation videos makes it sad to think about how they can remember their own families despite being virtually braindead at times.

In that case you shall do like young Pootin anecdote: he found himself in a riot sayin' "Ppl my Mak has 8 rounds in it. 7 are for you and the last 1 for me: what should we do"?
Honestly that what i like about stalker, you could be legent to your peers but you're still just a man as mortal as anyone else, armor just makes you less likely for you to die by a bullet but it can't avoid that from happening
Dying to a Controller, then having your ghost freeze after being controlled by the Controller must be among one of the worst ones. Yes, those freezes should be canon, lol. (though they wouldn't make any sense)
I wish there was more in the way of secrets and detective work one could do in the zone. Shortwave radio signals and numbers stations, secret files and abandoned military bases, etc etc would be so fun to explore and track down. The X-Labs and Dead City are my favorite parts for all their lost secrets and hidden lore to find.

Honestly- while the Bloodsuckers sound absolutely Terrifying, the Radiation being horribly agonizing, the Fruit Punch- also terribly painful, space bubbles- seemingly hopeless, and the Psi-Storms being enough of a mind-fuck. Being brainwashed- either by Controllers, the Brainscorcher, or the C-Conscious itself, is the most terrifying for me, your very soul is thrown in the backseat, as either pure instinct, or subliminal messaging taking control, as you become either a drooling, bumbling, homicidal mess, or a cold-hearted zealot, trained to kill. Either way, you’ll spend the rest of your life seeing every action your body makes without any of your input, no control, as you’d likely gun down your own Brothers, and Comrades, just to later get put down like an Animal. Some crazy shit, honestly.
Fruit punch probably one of the worst hands down, imagine exploring a underground facility with a buddy only for him slightly ahead of you to slip and fall into it, squirming and screaming in pain as he begins to gurgle and cough up blood and caustic fluids enveloping him as you watch in horror.
Honestly for me the worst way to die in the zone would be to a pack of Tushkano's. I can't remember the mod but I do remember reading dialogue about a hunter leading some duty soldiers into the Wild Territory and as they were camping out for the night a wave of Tushkano's came, so many that they covered the ground entirely, and attacked them. Killing all of the duty soldier except the hunter, eating everything including the bones. That's why I think they're the worst way to die, either you get mobbed by dozens and die a quick and extremely painful death or you get caught off guard be it in your sleep or something else by a few and die a slow but excruciating death, either way I just pray stalkers can grab their pistols and make it end fast.

After playing the original trilogy several times and 100's of hours in Anomaly... I just started a Merc run in GAMMA. Dude, the radiation is unforgiving.
Being a zombie is one of the worst, vaguely losing your own mind even as it was burnt away previously, just vague memories you can’t even remember why you remember, close would be a messy death at the hand of most anomalies
Unlike some other anomaly which gives instant pain and suffering, the whirling one shook me the most because you can’t escape it, you’ll get crushed by pressure as it slowly but surely rupturing your body into a pulp.
It would be cool if in Stalker 2 fruit punch would severely damage your armor and health. First second and you lose 10% armor, second you lose 40% of your health. third is death.
In STALKER Anomaly there is a mod that, if you take damage, you’ll drop your weapon some times. If it lands in an anomaly like acid or fire it will destroy it.
It would be cooler if Stalker 2 actually gets released. We're waiting since CoP for a new title of the freakin' best series in postapocalyptic RPG gaming history

My Artstation Portfolio can be found be searching for "meshcarver". It might interest you and the fans here to know I also had a new map for ARMA in development too at one point called NOVA ZONA but had to cancel as work came first sadly- it's something I'd go back to in a heartbeat given funding. Again, searching for NOVA ZONA ARMA Mod will bring it up. Also clicking my Avatar here will link to five vids I made during development. It's nice to see the image anyway but yeah, if you could add that in I'd appreciate it. Fingers crossed for STALKER2 and the Team at GSC.
Whirligigs and mutants suck, but getting ripped apart by 8 different dogs sounds like it honestly the worst thing ever. Anomaly’s are quick put those dogs man
Nice video bro, I have to say I agree with your list. Since their are so many different ways to meet your end in the zone the possibility's are literally endless. But when It comes to the bloodsucker, It's better to just take the quick way out and eat a bullet or keep a frag grenade handy for just such an occasion. At least then you stand a chance of not going alone.
I was with a squad of 3 others in Zanton when my guys started acting alert etc. Out of nowhere, a hail of gunfire opened on one of my guys, he slumped forward dead, but not before firing the grenade launcher on his rifle directly into the ground where he stood. Myself and the entire squad were blown to smithereens, but I survived with terrible injuries, only to stumble into an electric anomaly in the blind panic. Didn't even get to find out who was shooting at us.
I wish we had something like a glitterbomb for bloodsuckers. Even if they had the ability to make the glitter on their skin to also become invisible, you could still see the particles disappearing as the sucker moves through the cloud. I hate bloodsuckers, most of the time I see them out in the open with no way to funnel their movement and they just dance around me like cowards.
Been watching your stuff since I got back into stalker and into the radius and I’m digging your stuff, will you make a vid about the artifacts lore at some point? That’d be super badass
The game is so much more than the movie. I am still to this day amazed by the game. Released more than decade ago, these videos is an evident that this game stood the test of time. As a loyal fan of the franchise, I anticipate the second part.
Killing bloodсука seems that easy in vanilla, but Misery, Anomaly, and other mods, shows you that they're not that easy as spreading 12 gauge to their face. It's hard to see them in their cloaked mode; just add fear and panic, you'll become a fly in a chameleon's tongue.
Long ago I played stalker for the first time as I kid, I misinterpret one of the gravitational anomaly’s. When screen shook, as I was getting damage, and in the end anomaly tired me apart. I thought, that this particular anomaly snot just hit you with high gravitational difference, but actually tries to knock you on the ground, and only then tore apart. I thought that when you get in this anomaly you constantly reminded by it that as soon as you fall, because your legs just gave up, you will be torn to pieces.
Worst way but rarest way finding the wish granter. all that fighting and loss just to get screwed over and slowly die in the center of the zone listening and hearing the granters voices in your head one last time. maybe you get lucky and it just kills you but most will probably pick a bad wish that will prolong their suffering.
i would say that simply just starving to death is one of the worst ways to go in the zone. there is food practically all over the place and if you can't find ANY then god have mercy on your soul
I love how in avideo with horrible ways to die you go "you can get pounced upon by a deadly chimera, and never even hear the cause of your death..." well, yeah? That's like one of the best possible ways to die if we exclude dying in your sleep? Like... why the fuck would i want to hear what killed me, see it or feel it in any way? If something can kill me quick enough so that i won't even notice i'm dying right now, that's my preferable way to go out of this world lol.
I have yet to watch the video, but imo the worst ways to die are anything related to psi waves ( psi storm, emission, brain scorcher, miracle machine, controller ) and maybe dying from stepping on a burner anomaly and catching fire Edit: oh yeah and I remember in game hearing ( or reading ) a story about some dudes being attacked by a massive pack of tushkanos at night and the only one who made it iut had to stand on top concrete blocks to survive. In the morning, he found out that only bones were left from his buddies. Also sounds like a horrible death
Small areas of radiation are probably where som parts of fuel has landed, some areas in the ukranian forests around the npp have pockets that are highly radiated even today so I suspect that part to be in the spirit of realism that the makers of the game wanted.
The truly horrifying thing about it is there are even small pocket anomalies that give large amounts of radiation and displace when there is a large occurance like an emission. I believe it was put into more detail with CoP as one of the ways the Zone is adapting.
A Saiga user is advised to spare two magazines for each bloodsucker encountered... The first magazine is for killing it. The second is to kill it again.
I agree with the list other then I would have replaced the space anomaly with a gravitational anomaly. Dying by a gravitational anomaly could be fast and only last a couple of seconds but also you could be ripped in half and bleed out on the ground. The saver pain you would feel before dying even of you died in seconds.
being zombified after an emission or after confronting a controller, being too far to take cover from an emission and the emission eventually get you....
I think dying from the brain scorcher and being controlled just like monoliths... the pain you can be turned into monolith or a zombie I mean i feel like the anomaly which takes you upwards And makes you explode is not good... a whirlgig? or just call it gravitational anomalies are the worst for me just rip you apart but psuedogiants are also bad ways to die if you are poorly equipped...
Og stalker games are scary on their own. Stalker gamma however makes bloodsuckers 1000x more scary for some reason for me (psysuckers not as much as you know they there)
So i just came here to drop that generally, for me, strictly subjectively speaking (although i assume many would aggree with me), death is the more horrible the longer it takes times the ammount of pain induced. So it would be like pain*lenght=horribliness factor. Also i'm writing it before watching the video so that i won't get my thoughts influenced by it for more authenticity. With this in mind i'd say that surely one of the worst way to go is space anomaly trapping you inside. I wouldn't put it at top 1, as in most cases you have all your stuff with you, which presumably includes a gun and at least 1 bullet so the moment you feel starvation effects kick in (or the moment you make peace with your death) you can just, you know, *pop* yourself out of existence. But it surely has a top spot somewhere cause if you'd happen to drop your gun right before entering the anomaly (or go out of bullets) and don't have a knife on you (very unlikely) it would be horrible. In fact, i'd prefer any other anomaly than this really. Most of them take a couple of seconds or less to kill you, this one can take weeks of excruciating pain induced by starvation. Other horrible way to go that would go into the top 5 would be psy-induced consciousness trauma also known by stalkers as zombification. And i'm deliberately leaving controllers out of this equation, i'm talking strictly about psy fields effect like those induced by brain scorcher or miracle machine. I only assume it's not instant zombification, it probably takes a lot of time, i mean, even without the psy protective helmet from Sacharov you can dwell in the field for quite a long time before it kills you, so it would be a slow and (psychologically) painful death too. I dropped controllers out of that one cause i'd like to put them separately into my top 5. Imagine being still conscious and aware when a controller uses you to kill your entire party, or even your friends, and then forces you to commit suicide. A terrifying way to go. Another awful way to go in the zone that would definitely make it on this list would be by a gravitational anomaly, but an uncanonical one - the shield anomaly that's present in a variety of mods. It deflects you, or whatever you throw at it, and then strips you of the laws of physics. If someone doesn't know what am i talking about: imagine you walk into an anomaly and suddely you get pushed/thrown in a random direction into the air, presumably the same direction you came from, and then as you fly in a perfectly straight path you gradually slow down. Also your moves and voice slow down. And at some point you just stop. And there you are, frozen in the middle of the air, unable to move, unable to scream from the vague pain you felt while slowing down as your blood vessels also frozen, unable to live as your heart just stopped but also unable to die as the electrical signals running accross your nerve system also just freeze in place, unable to gather thought as your brain is stuck in a giant lag, unable to breathe as your lungs are stuck as is the air inside them, and unable to even feel pain as the receptors can't send any more signal. You're trapped in the last state you were in for example: mid-inhale, heart in the middle of a single beat, eyes sore and looking forward in shock, a mild pain from the blood that stopped in your veins, unable to grow into bigger pain as the signals on your nerves stopped, and with only a brief ghost of a thought caught in your mind. But i think my number 1 would just be good ol 'plain and boring' acute radiation syndrome. I think i don't have to explain why this is the worse, imagine rotting alive for a month before you die from all your organs failing. If you never saw what ARS effects look like, or in other words how serious radiation burns (wounds) look like, rest assured that you'll sleep better this way. BUT if you insist on knowing and joining the circle of the people who wish they never had eyes, for the extreme case of ARS google "Hisashi Ouchi" and go to images. Hisashi Ouchi is a japanese man who was kept alive against his will by scientists for 83 days... well, somewhat against his will as he expressed that he wants to die on multiple occasions, but never specifically and officially asked to be euthanized before passing out and the family did not sign the papers for his euthanasia, so the scientists who were keepin him alive "for science" were also bound by law to keep him alive in that state. And the state we're talking about is, well... let's say that at the end of his life he looked like a skinned and mauled corpse-skeleton with some meat on it that had to be kept in the air hanging by all his limbs cause anything touching anything would just bleed all over everything and induce him with even more pain and instant infection. That's radiation for yall, ARS would be my top one.
Sargent Sergei makarov of the Duty first battalion, first company platoon 1 reporting in... I have to say I have seen my share of dead stalkers friend...we do what we can to prevent that...hell I would prefer Freedom fighters die by our hands instead of an mutant.
One anomaly I think is pretty horrible is the vortex anomaly. Heck, I suppose even the electro anomaly is a horrible way to die. I remember seeing a bandit walk into one and make a blood curdling scream.
@@lambda-m1676 oh I see. I still remember the scream. Man, sometimes I really don't wanna kill them. I tried joining them once, I couldn't. Didn't have the heart to. Heck, if you go talk to other bandits, they'll tell you that the current Bandit boss is extremely stupid and that destroying the Flea Market is an absolutely horrible idea. To join the Bandits, you must first destroy it. Knowing that, I really can't join them. I'll essentially be screwing all of them. Plus, the lore. the backstories of all of them. @@ThorsDecree I've been in many moments where I thought I'd not survive a blow out, but because I have the STALKER ANOMALY Dynamic emission cover mod, so long as I can find a hole in the ground or a vehicle to crawl under, I'm usually going to be safe from an emission.

I really feel like being stuck in a Temporal Loop (Space Bubble) would be terrifying. Every time you think you are going to escape you go back where you started...slowly dying of radiation, psi, hunger, thirst...maybe all the above.

Maybe a mod could do that?
If youre not in it, join the stalker anomaly server and suggest it to someone. Its the only game that will ever get updates, so there's hope
@@brim-skerdouglasson a lot of mod do that its just the fact that a lot of aspect where stripped from the base game like SoC was suppose to have more lab and way more hidden stuff the earlier draft had so many concept and idea that where never realized its sad thanks god there mod like Oblivion Lost that recreate a lot of it but still
Even in the novel, the fruit punch, known as the witches' jelly, was the most feared anomaly in the Zone.
I just started Chapter 2 today, can attest lol
Oh i remember that one. That's from Anomaly.
His story with a controller and poor ecologist team also makes me wanna puke.

You just gotta do a well timed jump ;) although sometimes that may toss you some distance..
@@gavincleland9010 I mean realistically, not ingame.
But yeah, it's relatively easy to escape it.
@@brim-skerdouglasson I didnt make that mod but its a easy 1 line change for a couple ltx files to make all anomalies do that!

However, could I ask you to at least credit me in the Description for the Thumbnail and leave a link to my Portfolio too..? I saw that the same image was used at the beginning of your "STALKER Lore - Gravity Based Anomalies" video too.
Could I ask the same of that video..?

Glad you enjoyed my my dude. Keeping a frag or HE handy is a good idea my dude.
God I love this channel. Please keep it up. You're a great content creator, you're creative, witty, immersive and just all around entertaining :)
That’s pretty clever, probably more likely to use flour or paint but that would be a great concept
Been watching your stuff since I got back into stalker and into the radius and I’m digging your stuff, will you make a vid about the artifacts lore at some point? That’d be super badass

Radiation for me is the most horrifying way possibly to die. Those Russian soldiers who dig trenches in red forest, Chernobyl.... poor bastards.
Yeah, even if they fight for a warmonger. Nobody deserves to die of rads...
Wow! Welcome into the Zone, Bro!
Nice video and interesting to see it.
I miss for your video.
The game is so much more than the movie. I am still to this day amazed by the game. Released more than decade ago, these videos is an evident that this game stood the test of time. As a loyal fan of the franchise, I anticipate the second part.
Currently replaying vanilla SOC. Love this game so much!
Ionizing radiation is fucking brutal. Any form of burns is an awful way to die, but radiation burns are the worst in my opinion.
The Controller would be on my top 5 for sure. Imagining having so many hallucinations you decide to shoot your head
The moment he said you could get pounced on by a Chimera I got pounced on by a chimera and it scared the hell out of me, the timing is insane.
Dying to pack of cats on campfire save only in Anomaly
Im the "gun down everything" kinda stalker, but when i see a translucent blob running towards me the only option is flight.
Worst way but rarest way finding the wish granter. all that fighting and loss just to get screwed over and slowly die in the center of the zone listening and hearing the granters voices in your head one last time. maybe you get lucky and it just kills you but most will probably pick a bad wish that will prolong their suffering.
Right off the bat I am guessing Zombification.
My worst would be getting sucked into a spatial anomly and not finding my way out of it.
i would say that simply just starving to death is one of the worst ways to go in the zone. there is food practically all over the place and if you can't find ANY then god have mercy on your soul
I have yet to watch the video, but imo the worst ways to die are anything related to psi waves ( psi storm, emission, brain scorcher, miracle machine, controller ) and maybe dying from stepping on a burner anomaly and catching fire
Edit: oh yeah and I remember in game hearing ( or reading ) a story about some dudes being attacked by a massive pack of tushkanos at night and the only one who made it iut had to stand on top concrete blocks to survive.
9:05 the backrooms of the zone

Accidentally killing the 100rads barkeep in SOC and crashing the game is probably one of the worst ways to go

A Saiga user is advised to spare two magazines for each bloodsucker encountered...
The first magazine is for killing it. The second is to kill it again.
Remember, fellow stalkers.
Bloodsuckers are invisible but also noisy asthmatics.
They run all day long
I agree with the list other then I would have replaced the space anomaly with a gravitational anomaly.
If S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 released your Channel goes through the sky Mate!
Stalker gamma however makes bloodsuckers 1000x more scary for some reason for me (psysuckers not as much as you know they there)
im my opinion the worst thing in the zone is being
zombieified still its not dead but really painful for stalkers

The grinder from Roadside Picnic and Andrei Tarkovsky.

One anomaly I think is pretty horrible is the vortex anomaly.
