- The Twelve Days of Christmas by Bob Chilcott.
"This work is classic Chilcott - vibrant, fresh, and great fun. It is an exuberant setting of the well-known carol in which the 'five gold rings' refrain is re-written to appear in an array of guises: gentle soprano solo, swinging barbershop quartet, hard funk, and rock gospel style." - Видеоклипы
I love Bob Chilcott, and I love this arrangement! I've been looking for a good quality arrangement of it for a long time. Thanks for posting!
I love you drummers
A couple of the 'five gold rings' sections are parodies of other composers: Karl Jenkins after six geese a-laying and Faure's 'In Paradisum' after 11 pipers piping. And of course a rewrite of 'Silent Night' after seven swans a-swimming. When I sang it in Diversity choir, our tenor Rex ascended to the pulpit to sing the final solo.
Thanks Gus, really interesting
If I remember correctly, the "five gold rings" part at 1:22 is based on the "Flower Duet" by Léo Delibes.
Love this Bob Chilcott rendition! Just learning this in my community choir for a very mixed repertoire Christmas concert (several local choirs) at Romsey Abbey, Hampshire (UK) on 5th December 2017 - if reasonably local why not come along!
heard this performed by the Bristol Bach Choir the other night (Dec '15) and it was great.

Is great
The barbershop quartet reminds me of OneSound Jan 2014! This was a great performance!
As Tim writes Lee, It's a complete work by Bob Chilcott and the part that you refer to is a repeat of the verse '5 Gold Rings' :)

Just performed this at Romsey Abbey, Hampshire, UK with Wyvern Community Choir (Fair Oak) and four other excellent local choirs. Loved it - thanks for putting this on RUclips - it really helped! Also especially to Bob Chilcott for the fun arrangement. *****
