- The small gap in the suspension linkage of the Specialized Stumpjumper can trap rocks that can damage the frame. This devise seeks to eliminate that risk.

Wow. Im going to buy one. I never even thought about this issue til now. Thanks for the video
Well I ordered one after seeing this video. Big mistake. Never arrived after 6 weeks and when I did get a reply from foxfolk I was told it might be with customs which could take upto another 90days😂 Gave up and claimed a refund directly from my bank. I ended up making my own out of a old inner tube and 3m tape for the cost of a coffee.
Super! It's funny that in the evo version such protection was provided, but in the flex version they forgot about it.)
Makes sense. Always dirty in there
It's amazing a company like this can exist, and make a single product that only works for 1 bike, and be profitable. Guess it goes to show you the reach Specialized has that they can sell enough of those bikes, to allow this company to even exist.
How do you know they're profitable? We've seen many of these niche mtb companies go OTB
@@CowneloAlvaroid Honestly, don't know if they are. They seem to have made it through the first year. So many other bikes could use similar protection, I do find it strange they only focus on the 1 bike.
@@JasonScottCarter Yep the focus on only 1 bike/part is odd & makes me wonder on their longevity. Hopefully they can stay in biz
I would be surprised if this isn’t just a side job for 1 person.
It’s also amazing Specialized does not have that covered.
Weird that the evo has it from factory.
Thats a fault on behalf of specialized
Pivot makes a similar product that's available on their site to protect the gap between their DW-Link suspension from rocks, mud and grit. Sharing in case others on your channel are riding a Pivot. It's always best to play it safe than to be sorry later.
you can buy that 3m double sided tape instead of relying on zipties... its called vhb tape ... or molding tape in the auto section
Be aware: this will only fit carbon frames, does not fit the aluminum frames. They said they will be out with one later this year.
My little brother got a Stumpjumper EVO a couple months ago and it actually came with something similar to this product with the bike from Specialized directly.
Hi Clint, Great vid. I've had a DirtSkirt on my carbon Stumpjumper for three months now. It is so worth the price, compared to the replacement cost of a new frame, this is minimal. The DirtSkirt has kept all dirt and stones from entering that gap. Of all the upgrades this gives the most peace of mind.
Thx, I just ordered it. 🙂
I literally just got mine. Took a few weeks but we will see how well it does.
How about some moto foam
compatible with epic evo 2019?
I wanted to get one but they still don't have one for alloy to keep mud and stuff out, not to mention 30 dollars for just 1 is pretty crazy. then I know the shipping will take forever so i think ill just make my own. its a nice item but not at that price.
That’s odd that 2022 Stumpjumper EVO has a little protective flap, but the Stumpjumper doesn’t. 🤔
22 SWorks SJ. My rear wheel moves. I think it is axle/dropout/udh and not hub/freewheel. Any one else have this problem?
My stump jumper is almost 25 years old. I just replaced parts as needed. As well I have a maren 9 speed almost the same age. I love 3 sprockets in the front.
Sico MTB components do a few different ones for Stumpys and Levos.
Thanks Clint. I ordered on for my new SJ expert
3M 2228 moisture sealing tape.
Great idea, thanks for the heads up, just ordered one.
My ‘22 Evo has one from the factory.
My evo has a factory one like that
Similar issue on Evil bikes.
Every bike has that gap
Is 'foxfolk' a sub-brand of Fox? Similar name and logo.
I don’t think it is
My 2020 Stumpjumper Evo came with something similar from the factory.
Same for my 2021 one.
Same with my 2022.
What prevents debris entering from the bottom?
The real risk is the rear tire picking up debris and throwing it into the suspension linkage.
Thanks !! I just ordered it right away for my S Works Evo !!
Doesn’t your Evo already have one from the factory? My ‘22 SJ Evo Expert did.
@@VanPelt408 … yes indeed but not enough large or long for clearing all imo
@@cg1983 I was thinking the same, the Dirtskirt looks like better coverage than the one from the factory. Are you going to remove the factory protector or try and mount the Dirtskirt over it?
@@chucks5419
The original one can be take off with the little screw… so I’ll probably have to take it off because it’s a little too high to put the dirt skirt on top of it
Company won’t last long making a product for a single bike. It says it’s for the EVO also, but as others have mentioned my EVO has a rubber flap covering that gap.
