Pet Cheetah I think is their best work. There's so much meaning behind it and in the second verse it's basically Tyler saying: "Yeah I'm done being an "underground" lowkey band I'm just gonna flex my production skills real quick." and I'm all for it.
When they played this live on the first leg of their Trench tour (we saw it twice here in Atlanta), he was up on a catwalk OVER the audience singing/rapping in the sky and it was FIRE. This song live... hits different.
This is Tyler breaking the 4th wall on the challenges in his mind recording Trench. Having the success of Blurryface then immediately writing a lore-heavy album and creating this world in solitude after a huge world tour must have been a mindf*ck. 'This clique means so much to this dude it can make him afraid of his music, and be scared to death he could lose it.' Until the album's release, Tyler had fears about their fans not connecting with the Dema storyline and their art falling flat.
@@nikita8370 that's fair. But I can say that while there are a few songs that are not particularly to my taste, those same songs are still better than 90% of anything I've heard in recent years.
The thing with Trench is I’ve been listening to it for 5 years now and I still find a different layer/sound in the songs with each listen. There’s an insane level of production on each of these tracks.
"This *clique* means so much to this dude It could make him afraid of his music And be scared to death he could lose it" it's one of my favourite lyrics!!
Lol it took me a while to like this song. I started liking it when I played on Beat Saber, after that I realized how good it actually was. I have nice speakers in my car and this sounds amazzzingggg on full volume 🧡
Tyler was having a writer's block so he wrote this. They were thinking with Josh to add Jason Statham there somewhere. But the song came out so good, they decided to put it on the album.
As someone who works in production, Tyler is an inspiration in soooooo many ways. The LAYERS! Tyler taking a beat he should delete and “exercising” (in reality he basically tells us we’re all dumb for trying when he makes this masterpiece) is what I wish I could do every day.
@@girlwithnoname956 ok, you are probably right eith that one. And i don't say you don't have reason, but i remember one of them made a video (IT CAME TO MY MIND RN THAT IT WAS STOLEN POTENCIAL) about the lyrics which i do recomend you to watch. And most likely, it ain't just "opinions" since some things are real, like the 'i'll take this beat to exercise' and tyler has said in an interview that he sometimes takes time to exercise when he is out of creativity
This is my favorite song off Trench and my second favorite from TØP as a whole. So so so good. Nothing gets me moving more like that drum riff at the end. Can't wait for Legend and Leave the City! Also hope if you try to do Regional at Best again there isn't any issues but the original songs off RAB are so good.
First song declared “Top 5”without a ”could be in…” You’re not wrong. You know what’s next? No phun intended Vs Regional at Best, Self titled vs Vessel, Blurryface Vs Trench, Scaled vs Clancy. TOP tourney for best album.
@1:13 ish Yeah…same bro, same! The face you make and your body language in this little moment makes it 100% clear imo that you are thinking and feeling pretty much exactly what I was at this point in the song! As it’s definitely the moment you just know for sure that it’s a freaking banger my dude!😅😉👍
Btw…just to be absolutely clear here, I’m not saying that it suddenly hit you in that moment……NO! What I’m saying is that (if you are like me😉) you already had a feeling that it was going to be awesome from like the first time you hear that damn beat….BUT instead what is happening at around the 1:13 ish mark of the video/song is in fact just the absolute assurance of what you’ve been thinking since that beat reveal! So yea… it’s just the moment that it becomes absolutely 100% sealing of the freaking deal that it’s a kickass song ffs!!!😅😉👍
Listening to a whole album does this. There is so much genius it's aggravating, I often find myself wanting more and then less, please.... A live experience is one thing, but really sitting down listening to their albums is scary, I mean that in the best way.
I get home from work and see that the whole album reaction is DONE??? I wasn't aware you was just finna bless us like that today but thank you as always, keep up the good content!
Not supposed to say anything... just feel it bro... I cannot help dancing with this one... beat, melody, lyrics, drums, sound effects, switches.. man, so powerful song!! Hugs from Buenos Aires💖💖👽💀
Its Jason Statham. Josh bet he couldnt work that name into a song. Tyler won. This made many look up Jason Statham pet cheetah which led to finding the music video "Comin' On" by The Shamen which has Jason Statham dancing around in an animal print speedo. Look on you tube. (He is also in the Erasure video "run to the sun")
This song is basically Tyler Flexing his production skills 😂

One doesn't simply make a top 5 for Trench....
You do a top 14.
Perhaps a top 21. But then, they're all phenomenal!! |-/

He says "Jason Statham". Buuuut, I totally agree... Ozark was a masterpiece of a show! ❤
"These headphones are 'bout to explode" hahaha you're damn right
trench is an art gallery of masterpieces and pet cheetah is the mona lisa in said gallery.

Facts
Paul Meany is an animal on this album, can't wait to hear his work on the rest of Clancy
IKR!? 😅😉👍
this song is in another level in soooo many ways, man I admire tyler so damn much
"This *clique* means so much to this dude
It could make him afraid of his music
And be scared to death he could lose it"
it's one of my favourite lyrics!!
You’re almost done with Trench! Awesome journey. Before SAI could you react to Level of Concern which came out in 2020. It’s a great video.
And christmas saves the year
Fav song from the album right here
This is another one of my favorites from this album!
Love to see you loved it as much as well
Also poor Harden getting tossed again
The bass is soooo nasty in this song it's amazing
You should react to the hype location sessions its a banger
This song is all about writers block and I love it so much 😭 so relatable

The pet cheetah represents tyler's creativity. He spends like 8 hours on his studion in his basement trying to make music.
i'm pretty sure it's literally his keyboard. it's a cheetah brand iirc
@@tostcronch no, I think it was either dema or @jlanderssonmusic that said this
@@tostcronchthis. Cheetah keyboard is an old brand. And it just makes sense.

I hit like before I listen, so my comment comes after- good luck with that top 5 list! I never told you to do that!
A loucura dessa música é sensacional

I told you - no top 5 rules for Trench 🙂 You always have to wait for the last song of an album.
This song is such a vibe! My face was the same as yours when i heard it for the first time

Once you listen to this band, your ears will never hear another band for yearsssss hahahaha

You can tell a lot about out what type of TOP someone likes by asking them about Trench.
Bro had to smack James Harden outta there 😭
Yeah this one hits different.

@D. Rich - #TrenchTop5Challenge has been made.
I warned you! lol Awesome reaction.
You’re stressing yourself out trying to pick a top 5 lol. You e said that for every song in this album. Welcome to our life.
I'm all late... but I knew you was gonna go crazy about this one. It's definitely type 5 for me on the album. The beat is DISGUSTING.
