What tools you need to start your Amazon FBA business

Check out all of the tools that we use for our FBA retail arbitrage business. I'll talk about a number of tools including a few free ones. I also try and talk about any free option out there for those starting with a super small budget. The tools we talk about here are all things we are currently using in our business. If/when we find better tools for certain jobs, we will add new links here.
As always - Make sure that your sunk cost for tools doesn't overshadow the inventory that you are trying to flip. It doesn't matter how fast or effectively you can source if you don't have any money to actually buy your inventory :)

i am a retired entrepreneur with health issues but not enough income to live comfortably. I have been seeking another income opportunity that doesn't require me working for someone else. and i just discovered FBA as a business opportunity and doing lots of research. Your video has been very useful for me... kudos for covering the office side of the business as most others only cover sourcing product. I was wondering one thing that involves products and hoping you might have covered this previously. What happens to your product if it is returned? Free boxes at USPS. All varieties of sizes and can send to your home.
Yup! For FBM that's what you need.
For FBA you can get them from a dumpster as you'll need MUCH bigger boxes and you can't send usps FBA shipments.
Do you put the do not separate on 2 items inside a poly bag? I would assume no casue it’s sealed?

You can also get free boxes from USPS.
Those are specifically for FBM and can't be used for FBA (which is why they aren't in this FBA tools video)
Should I apply for a Business License?
My Amazon cart comes out to 350$ most expensive item is rollo thermal printer. Does this sound about right?

On boxes guys, my ups office guy said he could order boxes at wholesale for me since he knows I do ecommerce, check that out too, doesnt hurt
Check his prices, but I'd be surprised if it was actually close to beating prices of other places.
What size shipping boxes do you use?
do you two have any videos about using the bar scanner you recommended? I bought one but thoroughly confused.
Plug it into your computer and push the button. It works just like clicking your mouse works
How do you make the labels print the right way? I've tried changing the size of the label on the rollo printer preferences and orientation and they are printing sideways. Please help. The FAQs on the Amazon label link says they aren't supported by rollo.
If it is supported by a Dymo it is supported by a Rollo.
Reach out to Rollo customer service and they should be able to help with tech issues like that

In terms of shipping labels, I dont have a thermo printer but do have a regular printer, can I just print my shipping label and tape it on the box?
Yes. You can get free stickey paper from ups so you don't even need to tape it to the box.

No. Not allowed to do that.

Computer ✅ Pro Account ✅ Keepa ✅ I didn't get Inventory Lab as it doesn't work for Canada yet, but I use Sellerboard for now. I'm not sure how profitable the Canada market is yet, anyone else can chime in?

Useless tools for what we do. Only used for private label sellers.
You say when creating listings on your computer you use the scan gun. In our seller app it says create listings. Should I not be listing products with my phone?
For 1 or two things it's fine. As you scale you will be doing most of this on your computer. You will also not be listing things through seller central but through Inventory Lab as you grow.
When doing OA I usually create the listing in seller central.. you’re saying you should wait till you get the item and list using IL?
I am thinking to use JS instead of Keepa. I watched both tutorials software and i find JS easier to understand. What do you think?
They don't do the same thing at all.
JS is worthless garbage imo. It's also only a tool for PL sellers and not applicable to arbitrage sellers.
Is there a way to print labels from iPad to dymo?
I don't believe so. Ipads are not meant to be used for business like this. You need a computer

Hi yes I’m wondering why u need a computer even now in 2022 because the Amazon seller app is not even available for pc
Besides for all the tools, printers, etc... Because this is an actual business and not a game. The app is solely for scanning, and not for anything else.
I used the profit calculator and products under $10 have to be free to the seller to make at least $1 of profit per unit. Which for the money isn’t really worth the work.

i ordered labels from ups, the minimum order #500, they sent me 6000 labels. i could not even pick up the box.
Do you manually label all of your products? Even if amazon says you don’t need them? I listed about 25 products and it said I only needed to print out labels for 10 of them and the existing barcode was fine for the others
There's 3 options with labeling:
1) I label everything
2) Amazon Labels everything
3) I "commingle" what I can (no label, but instead Amazon uses the barcode), and one of us labels the items not eligible for this.
My business uses the first option personally, but this would be a good topic for another video :) Thanks for the idea!

Nobody talks about UPC because UPC is not a tool needed for Amazon FBA :)

No. I don't think A single one of these things can be purchased at walmart except boxes and rubbing alcohol.

amazon workers get a union you won't have to worry about fba.
Looks like no more printer sheets on UPS - the only labels they are offering are for laser printers, no inkjet.
Those are the same thing.
DITCH THE MUSIC, PLEASE. There's a reason why universities, public speakers don't have distractions taking away from the information they feel is valuable they want to share. We want to hear you and absorb the information, not have music playing over what you're saying. If people want to play music in their own home while listening let them and leave the rest of us in peace to learn.
We did a pole and more people preferred some soft music in background. Universities, public speakers, etc... don't often have large youtube channels. Different formats for different mediums :)
