THANK you for sharing this with us! I'm working on my diet and my A1c is down from 13 to 6.9. It's a work in progress but I'm no longer taking insulin, I achieved this in three months after diagnosis by following your advice. God bless you ❤️ I am also loosing weight, slowly but surely.

I'm on begging about this diabetic.. 😪
Congratulations Glenda, your success story sounds a lot like mine. I drastically limited my eating of starch, grains, processed oils, carbs, and sugar and I could see and feel the difference within 1-2 weeks. My very next visit to the doctor's office (4 months later), I had lost weight and I was no longer classified as a type-2 diabetic (off the Metformin). My Blood Pressure was in the normal range as well; first time in 35 years. It was not as easy as I thought it would be giving up most of what I ate on a daily basis but I have been successful. I wish you continued success. Good luck!
Hi glenda can you help me I am tryingn to work on my diet but don't know where to start or what to eat I have type 2 diabetes and I wanna reverse it I'd appreciate your help please and thank you
I'm 71, was diagnosed as type 2 a few weeks ago. I found Doctor Berry. Now I'm eating meat only, drinking water only. I didn't have any symptoms before, not really over weight. I have another appointment next month, I am wanting to see my lab results then. Doctor Berry makes more sense than any I've seen THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I was just dignosed with type 2 diabetes and I feel so damn sad. but reading comments and watching this video help me feel a little better . I have to be strong for my daughter. I know I can do this.
Type 2 diabetic 22 years. Went from 8.9 to 5.3. Never felt better. Completely reversed. A1C and weight still reducing with 30 minute walks 3 days a week. God is good.
I can guarantee you that reversing Type II diabetes is possible...because I did it! I am a 58 yr old male who weighted 247 lbs last Feb when I started dieting. I now weigh 182 lbs and I'm on my way to a target of 168 lbs ("normal" for my height). I visited my Dr last week and had lab work done. My labs were normal WITHOUT meds ( I dropped them all, AMA, last April, so my latest labs were a solid baseline.) Let this be a word of encouragement to all of you...Type II diabetes can be defeated!!!
@@wandasmith6 I simply stopped eating the things that made me fat...processed foods, pizza, fast food, sweets, ice cream, beer, etc. I eliminated ALL of them completely and switched to a diet of strictly fresh fruits, veggies and meats. But for this to work you have to also beware of the "little" things that many people overlook, such as condiments, that have ingredients that will set you back. I hope this helps
This is great to hear, i have lived a very interesting life full of all the things you shouldn't do, I am 47 years old and am 300 pounds, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 4 days ago. I immediately asked my doctor if this was reversible and he said sure but you will need to make some huge lifestyle and dietary changes. I said done! And from that moment I have not touched any of the bad foods, zero sugar zero processed meat or starch and carbs. Keto diet for now. I have a young daughter and this is a huge kick in the ass for me! My goal is to get down to 200 pounds. I know I will do it! I dont have a choice, the alternative is too much to think about. Best of luck with your journeys! J
@@wandasmith6 I'm diabetic type 2, I'm on insulin since 25 years now. I'm 60yo. I kept taking more and more insulin every day up to 325-350 units per day. My weight went up near 300 pounds. I created my own diet based on my illness. I combined 4 diets in one - first fastening 2 meals a day, second low carbs under 40 grams a day. third - meat proteins diner with green vegetables or a salad. fourth one hour and a half walking every day. I m doing that for the last 4 months. I lost 75 pounds and my insulin is down to 10 units per day. I hope to get to 180 pounds in 4 months and that my insulin need will be gone. While dieting, I tried to stop insulin a few days but it wouldn't work my blood sugar is still twice what it should be. I'm happy just with the mobility, the energy, the happiness gained.
I was feeling awful and was diagnosed as prediabetic. I went keto right away and brought my A1C down from 6 to 5.5 in 3 months. I beat sugar! You can too!
What happens if you eat carbs? I’m feeling so conflicted about the counter claims that ketogenic diet makes insulin resistance worse and if you eat carbs (like a slice of bread) your blood sugar will spike... I’m feeling discouraged 😞
@AVLRECORDS You don't have to eat less. You just have to eat better. Try eating a bowl of salad with every meal and include good quality proteins and fats. You'll feel full in no time.
I cried a few hours ago after meeting my doctor cause he told me I got type 2 diabetes. This video and comments here give me a little bit of hope and guidance. I’m going to fight and kill this demon inside me. Thanks doctor Berry and everyone 😢
@@michellet9304 I did no carb no sugar diet like doc Ken told to. After a month I met my doctor and my a1c reading was 5.8 from 11.6. Then after Ramadan and Eid Mubarak celebration in my country a few weeks ago my blood reading somehow upped a bit to 6.2. Worrying but I’ll keep fighting.
Rosalyn Hopkins I pray your son listens to him. Either him or dr Eric berg. He also has many videos about this. You’d like him. I really like dr berry too. He’s great. Blessings to you from Canada.
Lovely Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Loowarn Inconceivable Desire (should be on google have a look)? It is a good one off guide for reversing diabetes type 2 minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my best friend Jordan after many years got great results with it.
buri zaemon there is not much difference between private or public health Drs. 99% push high carb diets, pills when your diet fails you, and the tells you there is no fix and low carb is bad. Very rare are Drs. like Ken Berry, but hopefully the numbers are growing!
I want to thank you Doctor Berry. I woke up one day after being home for over 2 months due to quarantine and my vision was distorted, was seeing double. I’m a type 2 diabetic who has been taking medication for years and my doctor kept increasing my dosage yearly. We never had a conversation on how to reverse it. On May 1st 2020 I started intermittent fasting and following a Ketogenic diet after watching your video. On August 5, 2020 I took my hemoglobin A1c test and went from a previous 10.5 to a 6.1 reading. I’m still following the same daily routine and btw, down from 208 to 185. Thank you so much!!!
1 month ago I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 in 2020 and I have tried everything I can to cure myself, but all to no avail, until I saw a post in a health forum about a herbalist who prepared herbal medicines to cure all kinds of diseases, including CANCER, at first I doubted if it was real, but decided to give it a try, when I contacted this herbalist through his email and he prepared me a herbal cure for diabetes type 2 and sent it to me through the company's service UPS delivery, when I received this herbal cure. , gave me step by step instructions on how to apply it, when I applied it according to the instructions, I was totally cured of this deadly disease within 5 months of use, I am now free from diabetes all thanks to Dr. Osemuahu. Before I knew about my diabetes I was feeling bad, went to the DR my A1C was over 17 my vision was literally blurry and I couldn’t see straight. In the last 6 months I’ve lost over 80 pounds and feel a lot better. Take care of yourself people and eat better.
Being an RN and taking people to dialysis or changing the dressings of recent amputated limb; it starts with the toes people. I was horrified that my A1c was 5.8 in March. I watched this video and others on this channel. Dr Berry you tell it like it is. Since then then I have cut out all seed oils, grains, fruit juices, rarely drink alcohol anymore. My wife and I intermittent fast together usually 18 to 24 hours, Five months later down 30 lbs my A1c yesterday was 5.4. Perhaps the best thing has been my constant curiosity about causes of chronic illnesses plaguing our society. I now include the knowledge I get from the books I've read and videos on this channel and others to teach my patients these concepts. Believe me it is NOT part of standard medicine, nursing or dietary recommendations in hospitals. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr Berry!

A year ago i was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Doctor told me no big deal and not to worry. Recently my mouth wet dry and no amount of water would satisfy my thirst and frequent urination. A few days back after a light lunch i got incredibly sleepy and couldn't stay awake, i fell asleep on the chair i was having my lunch. I knew something was wrong as i got frequently tired even after napping. I've made an appointment to see the doctor but in the meantime I've taken in your advice and i do feel slightly better but will still seek a doctor's opinion. Just ordered the book "Obesity Code" and hope to reduce the effects or reverse the diabetic condition. Being an active person, having diabetes is like having an anchor around your neck. Just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work.
@Bike Vids I would advise against OMAD until you are ready for it. Your body will tell you when. I think pressuring people to go OMAD from the get go just scares people away.
I was more than 100 lbs overweight and pre-diabetic at age 19. I continued to follow the advice to eat a “balanced” diet and exercise, yet kept getting fatter and more unhealthy. At age 20, against the advice of the medical establishment, I began a low-carb, high fat diet. Typical daily meals: Breakfast: 4 egg, tomato, bacon and avocado omelette Lunch: (real) Caesar salad with sautéed shrimp Afternoon snack: strawberries and homemade almond butter Dinner: 16 oz prime rib with sautéed mushrooms and Boursin mashed cauliflower. After a year of that, I had lost 100 pounds and my metabolic profile looked like that of a professional athlete. Everyone I know who’s gone keto has a similar story. This therefore begs the question: Why, if this diet is so effective and conducive to good health, and can in fact cure diabetes and metabolic syndrome, is it not the standard treatment for all such patients? Could it be because the pharmaceutical industry and the medical establishment has a vested interest to the tune of tens of billions of dollars a year in keeping people sick, thereby ensuring a large and growing market for their dubious treatments? Hmm...
Walk into a Walmart or a grocery store and really look at EVERYTHING around you that has carbs. EVERY AISLE RIGHT TO THE SHELVES AT THE CHECKOUT REGISTER. I'm pretty sure the food industry doesn't want people to eat healthy. They would lose tillions and tillions if people gave up their poisonious products for a better way of eating.
God bless you for telling the truth! I’m a CCU nurse who has studied, always a rebel, and watched so many patients suffer terribly and unnecessarily. Your advice is exactly right! I love it 💕
yeah my doctor just about had a stroke when he found out my A1c was 18.7 he was surprised that i hadn't had a stroke or comatose. new dc thought my old doctor should have put me in the hospital.and he threatened to hospitalize me if i didnt take better care of myself. thankfully i made it down to 4.3 in 5 months. i enjoy these vids very informative. keep up the good work. & no im not overweight, lost any limbs & my vision is not gone bad
Just to support what has been said in this video, my A1C was 9, and by fixing my diet within 6 month I lowered it to 5.6. I was asked to use insulin and I refused, my doctor was unhappy to hear that. After getting my A1C results, the doctor was shocked about how I managed to improve my numbers without a medication! My advice is to keep checking your blood sugar regularly and correct your diet. You will see improvements within weeks.
20 years ago I had an hA1c of 8.1. I went onto the Atkins Diet for 5 years. I gradually went back to a ‘normal’ diet and had no issues for a long time. 5 years ago I was once again diagnosed as Type 2 diabetes and watched my diet for a few months. This has happened a few times since and so I am once again looking into drastically reducing carbs to ‘fix’ it.
This week my doctor told me that my A1c of 6.0 wasn't too bad. I said, "I think it's HORRIBLE!!" Problem is, I'm 5'4" and weigh 107 lbs. EVERY piece of advice out there for Type 2 (pre) diabetes is about losing weight. All of it. He told me if I did a carnivore diet, I would go into ketosis and my muscle would start to break down. As far as I've seen, there is nothing even on this channel for an underweight (pre) diabetic. IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT WEIGHT.
@@Indydi Hi, I am not a doctor or medic and I think you're right in a way. From my following other experts as well, I wondered if you may have considered that the focus on weight doesn't just mean excess weight. Perhaps you may be under weight and still develop diabetes. I believe I heard the doctor say clearly that there were two types of tests that needed to be done once A1c levels were found to be elevated. That is so as to clarify whether it's due to type1 or type2. Type2 is what most overweight people develop and there is a link between the weight, high dietary carb intake & the diabetes. On the other hand, type1 is purely the body not being able to produce Insulin at all. So the 2 tests he mentioned would clarify which diabetes type one has. If say someone was underweight but with diabetes it maybe the type1 & they'd still have to reduce carb intake & use insulin to maintain normal glucose and A1c levels. He did say you HAVE to ask yr doctor to do those particular tests. Also, in other videos he does talk about the fact that the weight loss and lowering of blood sugars become a by product of fixing metabolic health. Being underweight could be as a result of some metabolic disorder which may need to be looked into. Like I said, am not a doctor but hope that helps a bit
Same I found out I am diabetic(doctors didn’t care to find out for me) and I am near underweight- and was this past 20 years- low weight. It is though to keep the weight on, real struggle
@@mykienmsm7565 My Endo did test me for type 1, and it was negative. I ended up going carnivore 1.5 years ago, and wear a Dexcom. My BGs are now mostly 90-105, but A1c is still 6.0. It's a conundrum. Now the docs don't care about the A1c and only watch BGs, but I'd still love to know why. Based on my history, I'm not buying that it's because red blood cells live longer in carnivores. I will add that it was extremely hard to go carnivore and gain weight. I had to gorge myself, and it was uncomfortable. Also had to keep dairy (which technically is carnivore). I make my own Greek yogurt, cultured for 24 hours to remove all sugar, and I drink A2 A2 raw cows milk. Weight is now stable at 111. Also, that doc was wrong about ketosis causing muscle breakdown. I've put on a significant amount of muscle by working out at the gym.
fantastic, my wife was recently diagnosed with type 2 we're working on her diet now. she started keto finally, iv been ketovore since January 3 2021 and lost 56lbs as of today.
This is the very first video that put me on the path to reclaiming my health. I WAS 315 lbs, T2D, chronically fatigued, tingly hands, red flakey patches on my face, always sore joints, dizzy, depressed, easy to irritate, and just in general felt like death every single day I woke up. 1 year later from keto for 8 months and 4 months of low carb (between 40 - 80 grams of fibrous carbs a day (and 1 kiwi) I am down 80-90lbs (fluctuates) and no longer anything on that list above. I also intermittent fast every day for 18 - 20 hours as that is key with the diet. It angers me and saddens me that nobody bats an eye about my accomplishments, especially when I say "I'm no longer a diabetic". Like...what? I thought it was "chronic and progressive"? Anyways, keep on saving people, even if it's not as many as one would hope. 1 life saved is 1 life changed forever. Thank you.
Wow, I am currently going thru the entire list of symptoms you mentioned in the beginning of your comment. I’m starting today on my journey to fix myself. My legs and feet are tingly too.
@@xdmztryvsvedine2773 awesome and good luck. That tingly feelings is actually nerves dying from high blood sugars / high blood pressure. To this day I am still not considered diabetic. Good luck on your journey, it gets more mind blowing and amazing how you feel the longer you do it.
It’s now 4years since I have reversed my diabetes due to your sound advice. I live in the uk where the bloods are calculated differently however my blood sugar was at a a uncontrollable 116 and within 8 months it was at a very stable 36 and off medication for good . Keto definitely done it for me. That advice definitely saved me keep up the great work our nhs in the uk could use all more doctors like yourself cheers.
Dr. Berry... You’re saving more lives than you’ll ever know. Sadly, there are hundreds of thousands more who remain ill-informed and will continue to die. I share your videos to as many people I know who struggle with Diabetes and obesity. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for what you do.
Dr. Berry, thank you for being one of the few ethical and dedicated MD's whose mission is to heal people and not just hand out perscriptions. (We all know that this is the sad truth about the medical system today). It's time we all held doctors accountable for their negligence and ignorance. You give us hope for change. Thank you for being a true pioneer in your field.
I just discovered you yesterday. I am 67yo, A1c of 7.3 two months ago. I have been on Metformin for ., maybe ten years, I was diagnosed with a fatty liver two years ago. I have finished your third video and I am trying to get on track! Thank you for your videos.
You are NOT like those other MD's. You are a true Doctor that truly want to help heal patients (first do no harm). Thank you for caring for us. God Bless You.
this is the kind of video that should be playing in hospital waiting rooms before appointments, that's so much for being on the front line with such important information :)

But if you have to keep the no sugar no carb diet to keep non diabetic, then you are still diabetic right? Or once it stays under 5.6 for a while then you can actually go back to regular diet?
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to discover healthy tips for diabetics try Morundan Proven Diabetes Mastery (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.
LOL Marc.... took me a while but finally figured out what WALLAH means.... it's actually a French word you're using there and it's spelled " voilá"..... literally translated it means "see this" or "look at this" which is why it's used by magicians a lot.... when they want you looking somewhere specific. Sorry to go all grammar nazi on you.... just thought I'd message you cuz I wanted to help. 😊
As far as I know, once your diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic and on insulin you can go into remission with a LCHF/Keto Diet..but once you start eating alot of carbs you will most likely be going back on the meds.
My A1c was 15. I went to the doctor for leg pain. He ran blood work and at 10:30 pm I was called. He told me to go to the ER. He said my sugar was 662. I was shocked. I had been having all the symptoms but I didn’t know what it was. I thought it was just me getting older. A month later my A1c is 12.2. I am working my best to get where it needs to be. I am glad I found your channel.
Thank You, Dr. Berry! This year, I have lowered my hbA1c from 6.4 to 5.5 and lost 60 pounds following a ketogenic diet. Also, gotten off high blood pressure & cholesterol meds & CPAP!!!
Thanks for making these videos - I've had my first pre diabetes alarm bell - 5.7 - so making changes to avoid this horrible bad health journey. Thanks for some amazing support and advice, Dr. Berry!
Thank you :) been doing clean keto for 3 weeks since diagnosed and my numbers are coming down nicely. My dr today told me, no matter what I do I will have this chronic disease for life. I left today feeling deflated but determined to prove her wrong. I went to be medication free and get this disease sorted for good. Nothing makes me more determined, pig headed and stubborn than someone telling me I can’t do something.

I'm not a doctor but I've researched this extensively enough to say, your advise is berry berry good! You may have heard that before. I just wish I lived closer to your clinic! I'm 67 and weary fighting with ignorant doctors who insist on "managing" symptoms with the latest drug etc. As I watch your various videos I will often cheer aloud, "Yes and amen brother". I've been doing keto and intermittant fasting for over 2 years. Yet I've learned a few things I've heard no where else - certainly not as plainly and directly as you make it. Can't thank you enough for your efforts in broadcasting this vital information.
OMGEEEEE!!! Thank you Dr. Berry for this eye opening video!!! I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, gastroparesis & just yesterday I was told I have non alcoholic fatty liver. Thank you for these tools that will help me turn my health around to prevent things from getting worse. 🙏🏽
Doc I am in my mid 50's I am a Disabled State Trooper. Since my injuries in 1995 being in a wheel chair and sedentary for these years I have gained up to 484lbs. I have had Bypass plus 10 stents. I take insulin for "type 2." I just found you yesterday through a gun video - go figure! I have googled the keto diet and have sent my wife to Whole Foods. I hope this is the first day of a new life. Thanks!
Yes sir! If you will slowly implement the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting while working with your doctor and closely monitoring your blood sugar, you will reap benefits you barely dreamed of...
You need 4 things to get back on the horse, RetiredBadge: 1. Intermittent Fasting. 2. Water. 3. A Ketogenic menu. 4. Vitamins & Minerals. I strive for OMAD (One Meal A Day) but most often I run 2 keto meals a day. First meal I load my green veggies & avocado with some bacon. I like dipping mushrooms in cream cheese, or cauliflower in pesto sauce. I then add some protein, like a burger without the bun, or some tuna, salmon or shellfish. On my second meal, I eat a little less protein & I take my vitamin stack. The first meal is more of a meal for the gut bacteria, the second meal is to keep me asleep through the nite. Best of luck.
Thank you for the advice. I am on a keto lifestyle now. I am using the intermittent fasting, but not the one meal per day I am doing the two meals a day. My insulin has down decreased by 220 units for long range insulin and I have completely stopped the short ranged insulin at meals ( another 180 units decreased). The greatest thing is just in December alone I have lost 26lbs. :) Dr. Berry is a great encouragement and gives me an incentive to keep on keeping on.
I wanted to circle back to this video and say thank you. I just got follow-up lab work done , and the results were great. My labs from January were bad news. My A1c has since gone from 10.8 to 5.5. Triglycerides went from 152 to 98. Hepatic panel went back to within range - all in four months. Cholesterol went from 204 to 129. Now, time to get rid of the statins. Thank you, Dr Berry.

OMGOODNESS! I love your plain speaking. You are the first person and MD who has told me that it is WHAT I eat regardless of excuses. If I want to die early - ignore what you've said OR - listen, act and LIVE. Thank you. I really appreciate your videos, they are clear, concise and full of information. You should be the first person people diagnosed with Pre diabetes or Type 2 diabetes should watch. I was pre diabetic and had a fatty liver 15 years ago, no one thought it was a problem, no advice given. Fast forward 13 years and I'm Type 2 diabetic and again no one is horribly concerned as I control it( my AC1 is 7) through diet. Now I realise I'm killy myself! I have never commented before and have sat on the fence regarding the keto diet. Keto starts after I've watched your other videos. NOW. I am also donating what I can as I want your message out there so people, regular everyday people, can understand what they're doing to themselves. Thank you!
After finding this video 3 months ago after my diagnoses of type 2 diabetes I instantly changed everything I was doing wrong my A1c was 12 and weight was 410 Fast forward to today my A1c is 5.4 and I have dropped 80lbs and is continuing to drop.
I have just been diagnosed with T2D and have been crying for days now, this video has given me hope, thank you for saying it how it is, you have literally scared the crap out of me which I needed more then feeling sorry for myself. Bless you Dr 🙏
I was a registered nurse for over 20 years, do lots of reading and watching videos etc. and NEVER heard the info re A1C that you provide. Thank you so much!
I’m trying to cure it. A1C was 17.1 May 2020… was 7.2 when I started Carnivore 8-2-23. A1C 6.4,11/7/23 🎉. Shooting for 5.3 next time (Feb 2024) 🙏🏼 BUT, I still do have to take insulin , which I don’t understand. Zero carbs ( STRICT BBBE + salt and water, and daily minerals) Even 3 days fasts… my CGM goes up to 150-180, but with (5 units 2-3 x day) insulin, I can keep it at/ under 100.
Dr. Berry I love you and what you are doing! I share your passion. I am a registered nurse and currently going to school for nurse practitioner. This is how I want to model my practice.
I was diagnosed with T2D in November 2012. After reducing carbs, fats and daily exercise I lost 35 pounds by April 2013 and my A1C was back to normal. Now in 2022 my weight is still down and my A1C is still normal. All my blood test levels are in the normal range as well. I will turn 69 this month.
Yahoo. I listened to you and lost my T2 diabetes by giving up carbs and sugar. I have Hashimotos so I thought my T2 was connected to my autoimmune system. Have been off meds for nearly a month. Recording sugar, weight and BP every day to show doc in 5 months my stats. Thank you. Oh, by-the-way, I'm 70+yo.
Hello Dr Berry, I have been lingering for several years as a prediabetic, then about 3 weeks ago my A1-c was 6.9. I immediately began eliminating the high carb foods and taking notes from your videos and refining the diet as I learned more. So far I have lost about 10 pounds. One interesting observation I made today was while I was writing a check and signing my full name on a document. For several years I’d noticed it was getting harder to sign my name and write in cursive. I was losing control of the pen. Today I signed a document and wrote and signed the check with ease. I’d like to think it is a benefit of detoxifying my body! Great work you are doing!
I have had 2 primary care doctors, and they just give me pills like rybelsus and juvinex but never talk about diet and exercise. I stopped listening to doctors, and now i listen to people like you to steer me in the right direction. She told me never to listen to people like you so I'm now aware they are afraid they lack knowledge and dont want the patients to find out. Im going to tell her to check you out so she can provide me with better health. Thanks for caring about people!
To the point, ruthless, cryptic , no nonsense, true to the core video. Just loved it. Please keep up the good work. Hope more doctors watch this and improve their diagnosis and give correct advice about diet instead of prescribing medicines. Great job.
Ty Doc, got my A1C is very high in the teens. Learning so much, thanks for hearing panic in your voice. My doc makes my situation seem like it’s no big deal. Now I’m understanding so much better. I’m now in panic mode. I’m going to get thing under control. My next A1C test 85 days from now, will be much better.
Newly "officially" diagnosed here. 7 years ago i was told i was pre-diabetic, so i changed some things in my diet and lost some weight but over time got lazy and felt "safe. Fast forward to 2 months ago when officially diagnosed i found out that my a1c "back then" was 10 😮 Angry wasn't even close to the appropriate description of my emotional state. Currently going through all of the tests to see what damage has been done and incredibly grateful that its not as terrible as it could have been living untreated and undisciplined livestyle for so long. I am taking the medications currently to help but my goal is reversal! I'm 47 yrs old with 3 kids under 18, nothing else is acceptable. I check my numbers daily to get "the lay of the land" but my husband and i are working tirelessly on completely changing every part of our diets. Thank you for your channel, the information and encouragement is appreciated more than I can convey. I'm working through your "diabetic playlist" now ❤
Thank you so much !!! My doctors basically told me I was at risk for diabetes and then that I had type 2 diabetes but never explained why I had it or what to do about it. They did give me medication but I didn't know how to address the issue. Thanks again for posting this.
I'm a type 2 to a type 1 I have got no good information from being in the hospital or my Dr's and still have never Ben giving a diet plan I hate the medical care I have received but I like this guy keep it coming for people like me
I'm 26, 118 pounds and my A1C was 10.6. My doctor started me on a low dose insulin and some pills. I was diagnosed a week ago and just today got my meds. I've cried a hundred times because I'm legit TERRIFIED! And most definitely overwhelmed. I've changed my diet immediately and have an appointment with a diebetic dietitian. Wish me luck.
I feel inspired every time I watch one of your videos! I was told last November 2020 that I have T2D and I’m working to learn how to deal with and cure my diabetes, and I feel the more I watch your teaching the more I learn how to succeed. Thanks for sharing this wisdom. I’m 68 years old and I’ve been a vegetarian most of my life. But obviously my diet has been less than stellar. I’m going to keep trying and after watching this video and the emphasis on my diet I think it’s time to bite the bullet and throw away most of my pantry. I need to really start focusing on my diet. Thanks, and I’ll keep watching.
I am diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and worried!! But this video clip gave me hope that I can reverse it. From now on I have to mind my diet and eat the right way . Thank you so much Doctor for sharing. Sharing is caring.
Dr. Berry has a Patreon account. Let's support him financially with a $1 or more. He has done more for us than these sorry assessment doctor's who get a good portion of our money.
Dr Barry in late September early October of 2022 I learned I was diabetic… I was at my low point, super depressed contemplating ending my life… I saw your videos and when I knew there was hope…I had a new found lease on life… this video literally saved my life…. I am now off all diabetic meds band am much healthier. Thank you so much Dr Barry!
Don't let your doctor tell you that a HbA1c above 5.6 is "ok" or "close enough". At those levels you are doing permanent damage to every small artery in your body, from the arteries in your eyes to the ones in you kidneys. You must fix your diet to fix your diabetes!
KenDBerryMD My doctor said mine was 6. She acted like that was a good thing. I went Keto/IF, and my glucose averages now about 93-110 on average. Even after eating, my glucose isn’t much higher than 120. Thanks for your uncommon sense. I finally believe I can beat this.
Appreciate Video! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome one off guide for reversing diabetes minus the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my m8 finally got cool success with it.
Dear Dr. Berry, I was diagnosed being a T2D. It has been almost 9 years. true I have not eaten a very diet. Yo-yo diets over the years. My daughter introduced me to your youtube and what a blessing (I am so blessed to have such a brilliant daughter). I stopped taking Janumet and when my next appt. in March 2018. I am going to tell him I stopped this med. I still take the 3 other pills, lisinopril, pravastatin and metoprolol. Since following I have lost 30+ lbs. since Nov. 2017. I want to stop these as well.
This is such an essential message expertly delivered. I wish someone had told me this 10 years ago when my doctor casually informed me I was "pre-diabetic" but dismissed it as nothing to worry about--WRONG!!!!
Why havent BIG SUGAR and BIG CARBO or even BIG PHARMA silenced this doctor yet? Reduced my AC1 numbers significantly and I hope more people listen to him. Ive shared his videos in person and told people struggling with weight and diabetes type 2 to watch the series.. 100+ video on this "Diabetes 101" playlist. Wonderful!
I am type 2 since 1981. I have benefitted a lot from listening videos on managing carbs. My last a1c was 7 down from 11. I am positive that my next measure will be less 6.5. My target is 5.5!
You have lived 42 years with diabetes and recently had an a1c reading of 11 and you're fine? If your readings for 42 years have been over or around 7 with some sort of regularity, you must be missing a foot or something lol.
After listening to all the info, I put my husband on keto (I have been eating keto for a while, but he didn’t want to). Within one week he is off metformin and his blood sugar readings are normal. Can’t wait to tell our doctor!! Thanks dr Berry.
After struggling with diet for more than 40 years, I don't know if I'll be successful in eliminating carbs and sugars, but this video is powerful, and makes me want to try, so I want to thank you for being so direct about the dangers of type 2 diabetes.
I can say first hand. Listen to what he is saying. I had my A1C spike to 9.9 and that was it for me. I changed to eating real food. No processed foods. Low carb style. In 6 months I lost 80 lbs and brought my A1C down to 5.4%. My blood work all went to normal ranges. I am continuing on eating natural food and another 2 more months I am now down 100 lbs. it isn’t hard to eat this way. Food is delicious and I am now more active and loving my life now. This WILL work, life is worth the small change. Diet is EVERYTHING!!!!
Brilliant I need you behind me daily I’m a type two diabetic I’m want to try this also have fatty liver this is what we all need someone who is a straight talking truthful doctor instead of being lied to great stuff I’m glad I come across you 😍🙏🏻😁
Your straight forward, no nonsense informative video here is priceless. Love the not catering to feelings and sticking hard with the facts. Thank you!!!
Way to go Dr berry.. I'll be sharing this with lots of folks who are so unaware and in denial. I am so frightful that I might be a candidate as well... I will do further research on my blood work and be more conscientious of what I put in my mouth! Even though I stay active all day, it does not matter! You bring it forth so eloquently and so graciously that I'm sure they will take a moment to lend an ear... I am so appreciative of your knowledge and your transparency to share! Looking forward to more informative videos.. may God bless you Dr Berry thank you and Amen!
ITS SEPT 1st 2021 - RECENTLY FOUND YOU N I HAVE TO SAY U R AWESOME OMG !!! SOOOO GLAD I LISTENED TO THIS UTUBE VIDEO BCC IM POSITIVE YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE N CERTAINLY EDUCATED ME ON HOW TO KEEP DOING JUST THAT BY TEACHING ME TO SIMPLY PAY ATTENTION TO MY DIET !!!
I have worked very hard on my diet since November. I had Type 2 diabetes. Guess what? My A1C is very low and my doctor took me off metformin. I no longer have diabetes. My doctor is so happy about my progress . My potassium is low which I need to concentrate on now. BTW.. all my lab results were perfect and I have lost 42 pounds. Grateful for your videos Doctor Berry.
I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with type 2 diabetes with a 9.6 A1C. I was devastated and uoset with myself knowing I did it to myself. I went on a strict diet of no more than 60 grams of carbs per meal and ate 2 snacks of 15 grams per day. The weight fell off quickly, from 285 to 225 within 4-5 months. My A1C dropped quuckly abd staedily and in last 4 years my A1C has never been above 5.3, last ine 2 weeks ago was a 5.1. My doctor told me the key to controlling diabetes is diet, diet and diet and add what exercise you can to that. He was 100% correct and niw a bottle of metformin I used in 30 days now lasts me a year or longer. I monitor my sugar once daily now and my body is in tune to feeling when sugar us on the rise. The key is a good reasonable diet that needs to be stuck to. First few months because I was in a panic I stuck to eating same thing every day but have adjusted diet so I dont have to do that any more. I do cheat occasionally but dont allow it more than once a week and I dont go crazy with it. Changing my diet gave me the exact results my doctor told me abd I cant thank him enough. I value my life more than eating the wrong things and cant thank my doctor enough. Listen to this doctor, he is 110% correct, be patient and you will see results both in lower A1C' s and weight loss. You are worth it...
Thank you Dr. Berry. I was diagnosed in 2007 with Ankylosing Spondylitis and RA after 20 years of conditions that were deemed " just happens conditions" . I was a ICU RN for many years and knew that these conditions were R/T a commonality cause. I've just found your channel and will traverse your videos looking for one that will help. This Southern Gal wanted to say "Thank you" from the bottom of my heart!
Thank you Dr Berry for all your very informative posts.I am a Registered Nurse/Chiropodist/Podiatrist. I read them every day. Your information on the Ketogenic diet is so clearly explained, and the benefits are wonderful for the obese patient.
My daughter start having pre diabetic and went on keto diet and after a year she reversed it 👍I am and my whole family were and are diabetic 1 and 2 ! I am not as strong as my daughter to go keto diet 😡i am 77 years old and been diabetic 2 all my life ! Didn’t know until I was 40 years old and ignorant about it until recently ! I had fallowed old diabetic diets that they still tell you to do 😏when I was young and skinny my sugar was low but when I got fat my sugar went high ! But I am not fat any more but my sugar goes up with high calories 😏
Thank you Dr Berry! I was just diagnosed T2D. A1c 6.4😮Dr wants to put me in Metfomin and Statin for high cholesterol , but I refused. I'm starting keto, intermitten fasting, and exercise. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge to help us have better health. I read alot of comment. You are a blessing.
I am so very grateful to you Dr. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 13.1. I know this is high and serious. But thanks to the wealth of guidance you are providing, I feel hopeful I can make some concrete, positive changes in that. Thank you so much.
I was a lifelong Hypoglycaemic pouring out large and inappropriate amounts of insulin. 30 minutes after eating I would be back on the fasting level. This continued until my 30's when a lot of stress turned me into a comfort eater and I starting eating CARBS!! I was still a hypglycaemic until my 50'swhen I became pre-diabetic and in my 60's I became diabetic. Due to my reading I insisted my doctor ran an 'insulin-in-series' with my 'Glucose Tolerance Test' and the result was very illuminating. I was told I was a Type 2 Diabetic but clinically proven NOT to have Insulin Resistance. My pancreas was very tired and was putting out a very low flat curve of insulin. As the type 2 drugs were aimed at getting the cells to take in the excessive insulin that Type 2 Diabetics have in their blood, they were of no use to me. Lifestyle alone was the only option. I have been trying but not succeeding very well because I have put on a lot of weight in the last 5 years and now at 74 my readings are rising. I intermittent fast and try to keep low carb but I keep derailing my efforts with evening snacking from dinner to bedtime. Any hints how to get this under control?
I recently turned 32 and found out yesterday that I’m considered type 2. They said my level was 6.5. My doctors appointment to discuss the lab work and work out a plan isn’t until November 30th. So I’m doing my own plan and research. My husband loves your videos and has been on keto/carnivore for a few years now. I’ve been keto/low carb/eating whatever and it’s obviously taken it’s toll. Thank you for the book recommendations. I will be looking into those! I also looked to see if your clinic was still open, since I’m not far from you and it’s showing permanently closed, if it was open, I would be making an appointment!
Thank you so much for speaking the truth and giving us your time. That is priceless and I appreciate all that you give. A true professional and a wonderful human being.
Question, if a person has type 2 and does not have much weight to lose. Can T2 Diabetes be put into remission? Thanks in advance.
@@parsoniareigns that's my case too.. I'm curious about the same thing..
I'm 2 weeks symptoms of diabetics and dr already give me insulin am 1.82 cm tall and 80 kg weight.. and every morning i feel tired and i see blurry .. last night i have the slow insulin pen and i think i hit a blood vase.. because from 160 glicemia on hour 23:30 it drop to 43 glicemia on almost hour 01:45.. and was shaking sweating dizzy.. my wife give me water with sirup sugar and some bread and biscuits.. and was slowly good i wake up with 216 glicemia..
Good luck!
Way to go Glenda!
Hi glenda can you help me I am tryingn to work on my diet but don't know where to start or what to eat I have type 2 diabetes and I wanna reverse it I'd appreciate your help please and thank you
I wish my doctor talked to me like this. I'd rather get information like this than being treated like I'm stupid.
I'm 71, was diagnosed as type 2 a few weeks ago. I found Doctor Berry. Now I'm eating meat only, drinking water only. I didn't have any symptoms before, not really over weight. I have another appointment next month, I am wanting to see my lab results then.
Doctor Berry makes more sense than any I've seen
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I was just dignosed with type 2 diabetes and I feel so damn sad. but reading comments and watching this video help me feel a little better . I have to be strong for my daughter. I know I can do this.
Hey watch your diet avoid every processed food and eat naturally grown food in moderation
How are you doing?
Yes you can.
What diet did you follow? Paleo, keto, it carnivore

Good job, Rebecca!
Did you take meds to lower it or by just quiting carbs?
Do you still take meds?
What happens if you eat carbs?
I’m feeling so conflicted about the counter claims that ketogenic diet makes insulin resistance worse and if you eat carbs (like a slice of bread) your blood sugar will spike... I’m feeling discouraged 😞
I reversed it! Lost 140lbs and have kept it off for more than a year. Thank you Dr Berry!
what did yu eat??
how did u do it
HOLY SHIT LETS GO
@AVLRECORDS you need to eat the right things, not necessarily less!

Im 50. Been obese for 3o years. Im sad i hadnt known about keto back then. Glad i found it now. First 38 days been amazing.

@Bike Vids I would advise against OMAD until you are ready for it. Your body will tell you when. I think pressuring people to go OMAD from the get go just scares people away.
Get onto MasteringDiabetes...Cyrus and Robbie
I was more than 100 lbs overweight and pre-diabetic at age 19. I continued to follow the advice to eat a “balanced” diet and exercise, yet kept getting fatter and more unhealthy. At age 20, against the advice of the medical establishment, I began a low-carb, high fat diet. Typical daily meals:
Breakfast: 4 egg, tomato, bacon and avocado omelette
Lunch: (real) Caesar salad with sautéed shrimp
Afternoon snack: strawberries and homemade almond butter
Dinner: 16 oz prime rib with sautéed mushrooms and Boursin mashed cauliflower.
Hmm...
Exactly!

This is truth. I had a A1C of 6.1 in August of last year. I changed my diet and it went down to 5.5 in 6 months.
What changes did you make?
20 years ago I had an hA1c of 8.1. I went onto the Atkins Diet for 5 years. I gradually went back to a ‘normal’ diet and had no issues for a long time. 5 years ago I was once again diagnosed as Type 2 diabetes and watched my diet for a few months. This has happened a few times since and so I am once again looking into drastically reducing carbs to ‘fix’ it.
I wish we'd had this kind of straight talk 20 years ago when my husband was first diagnosed as a T2D.
I cured my Type 2 by stopping carbs, eating Ketosis for two years and now I’m carnivore. A1C in 2017 was 9,45 now 5.2🤗
fantastic, my wife was recently diagnosed with type 2 we're working on her diet now. she started keto finally, iv been ketovore since January 3 2021 and lost 56lbs as of today.
So do I stop all carbs or do a low carb ?
@@RunningtoJesus if you can stop all carbs that is the best option. I keep mine Below 20 total a day.
So you never fixed the underlying cause of your bodies inability to metabolize carbs? Carbs are atp. Your body will get carbs one way or another
I don't think it can be cured right, just controlled etc, because what if you go out and have some desserts and take away?
This may be the most passionate video you've done . You got your point across, crystal clear. Thank you.
Thank you.
That is super wow
Wow, I am currently going thru the entire list of symptoms you mentioned in the beginning of your comment.
I’m starting today on my journey to fix myself. My legs and feet are tingly too.
@@xdmztryvsvedine2773 awesome and good luck. That tingly feelings is actually nerves dying from high blood sugars / high blood pressure. To this day I am still not considered diabetic. Good luck on your journey, it gets more mind blowing and amazing how you feel the longer you do it.
Congratulations!!!
@StephenArkland Does the tingly hands and feet subside after Keto and intermittent fasting?
6 years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 and I have tried everything I can to cure myself, but all to no avail, until I saw a post in a health forum about a herbalist who prepared herbal medicines to cure all kinds of diseases, including diabetes, at first I doubted if it was real, but decided to give it a try, when I contacted this herbalist through his email and he prepared me a herbal cure for diabetes type 2 and sent it to me through the company's service UPS delivery, when I received this herbal cure. , gave me step by step instructions on how to apply it, when I applied it according to the instructions, I was totally cured of this deadly disease within 5 months of use, I am now free from diabetes, all thanks to Dr. Osemuahu. I'm 68 and by restricting carbs I went from 235 lbs to 175 in a year. Walking 6 miles a day helps too... Going in to get A1C checked today.
4 years ago I changed my diet and lost 75 lb and Wallah no more type 2 diabetes!
Awesome! Keep sharing the word, you CAN cure your Type 2 Diabetes!
You can do it
This is the best advice i've ever heard from a Doctor. The truth. Thanks for ACTUALLY caring about us.
YES
Thank You, Dr. Berry! This year, I have lowered my hbA1c from 6.4 to 5.5 and lost 60 pounds following a ketogenic diet. Also, gotten off high blood pressure & cholesterol meds & CPAP!!!
Great!
How are you today..

Literally me. How's it going Kia?
You need 4 things to get back on the horse, RetiredBadge:
Dr. Berry is a great encouragement and gives me an incentive to keep on keeping on.
Keep it up! I am very happy for you!
Thank you.

Thank you!

BUT, I still do have to take insulin , which I don’t understand. Zero carbs ( STRICT BBBE + salt and water, and daily minerals)
Even 3 days fasts… my CGM goes up to 150-180, but with (5 units 2-3 x day) insulin, I can keep it at/ under 100.

Don't let your doctor tell you that a HbA1c above 5.6 is "ok" or "close enough". At those levels you are doing permanent damage to every small artery in your body, from the arteries in your eyes to the ones in you kidneys. You must fix your diet to fix your diabetes!

Yes you do. Go load up on carbs send check it after 2 hours . You’re probably controlling it but you’re definitely still diabetic
Thank You...im 36 type two with a AC1 of 9 (level reas in Nov) this video was a wakeup call for me....thanks for the push.
Your information on the Ketogenic diet is so clearly explained, and
the benefits are wonderful for the obese patient.

I am so very grateful to you Dr. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 13.1. I know this is high and serious. But thanks to the wealth of guidance you are providing, I feel hopeful I can make some concrete, positive changes in that. Thank you so much.
My new favorite YT channel. Thank you Dr. Berry, you are a blessing!
How are you doing now?
Thank you so much for speaking the truth and giving us your time. That is priceless and I appreciate all that you give. A true professional and a wonderful human being.
