All of the unlocked KickStarter content is going to be available as expansions - including the gods and 5th player expansion. So, I think that adds at least 8 additional gods to the game.
Without any context or info about the game, seeing it on the board, I immediately thought of Cthulhu Wars. Curious to see how the two compare. Now to watch the whole video
@Tom Vasel I just bought this game on gut feel by reading the back of the box and after watching a few videos about it I'm pretty confident it was the right decision. I've noticed that since you made this video one of your complaints has now been addressed with the addition of the "God Pack". I'm curious to know if you have revisited this since the release of expansions and what your thoughts are now. Would love to see an updated video with all trimmings. I appreciate your hard work too by the way.
I'd like to respond to this now that I've had the chance to play. My first impressions are that the game has the potential to be great but I found some areas lacking. My group and I found the rule book to be extremely frustrating to use and the constant need to refer during our first game made this worse as there were no player aids or reference cards. Myself personally I was disappointed with the implementation of the pyramids as I felt that for the amount of effort required the payoff wasn't worth it. Maybe they are only worth it if everybody playing decides to build but as only 2 of us were building them it was quite a let down. I'll definitely play it again but there's a good chance I'll likely want to play other games instead in the future.
I agree that the base game does not have much replayability. Good thing the Kickstarter introduces 8 more gods and I believe 4 modules to customise gameplay! :)
Have been playing for sometime, all gods included, even played with the fifth player expansion, it's been very very fun. You can choose a different god every time and it'll give you a different perspective of the game. Is always a different game. Would like to watch or read more opinions about it. 👍
I think we get our copy next month- I can’t wait! Looks like a ton of fun. And I like that you said it’s a different entry with all the other ‘dudes on a map’ games
Tom is right about the rulebook being unclear and having too few examples in them. Also, at first glance it can be hard to see the difference between the green and the blue cardboard tokens. Overall, I enjoyed the game so far. But in my opinion, it's more of an area control game than a war game.
I love Clowdus as a designer. But his manuals are ALWAYS terrible and its a real problem for his designs. Honestly think better back-end layout and graphic design work on the manuals would really level up his work. His designs are good. But if its hard for me to figure out how the game plays and check a rule then its gonna make me not want to bring it to the table.
Sorry, but that ultra boring board and atrocious txt choice (brown on brown? Really?) makes this not very appealing at all, and actually feels like it would hinder gameplay. Just another example of a game that tries to incorporate lots of minis to offset its glaring issues. No thanx.
This review is all over the place. i know they did a live play through but Tom should not point to that and do a review that is all over the place. missed opportunity....

missed opportunity by not using mayan numerals for scoring track..

@@NewoNZany new thoughts after playing more?
@@shocknawe Truthfully, it hasn't made it back to the table since. So I can't really add anything further.
@@NewoNZ ah, what a shame. You seemed to have a keen eye and I have a chance of getting this one.
I'm still in doubt though.
@@shocknawe I would recommend watching a full playthrough on RUclips if possible or better yet if you can play it first.

How is it a year later?

They are Maya, not Aztecs.
Same same 😉
@@Krsnik666 ,
😐 No no.
@@Krsnik666 thats like calling greeks and romans the same. your illiteracy is astounding
This definitely needed more graphic design love. Looks like a well produced prototype. Still looks like fun though!
I call foul that it doesn't have Kronk and his Spinach Puffs in it.
*To be continued*
No seal of excellence. In this crowded genre, it means this is a hard pass. Thanks Tom for saving us money on this one.
Tom said the game WOULD get a seal of excellence if the rulebook was a little better
@mydemon you know we can watch the video, right? No need to lie. He said it needed more gods and gameplay options to get the seal.
From this review I am getting a blood rage vibe... am I in the ball park or way off??
There needs to be more blood rage copies in my opinion.
That text is kind of hard to read. I don’t think this game has much strategy at all, is more like a random area control game. Needs some streamlining.

Meh, plain & simply, no goose bumps, does not look exciting... $ slides back into wallet
Reminds me of Kemet
Yeah... Not appealing enough to me. I'd rather play Blood Rage with expansions.
I appreciate everyone is different, but I do not like this colour scheme.
The art style really doesn’t do it for me. Wouldn’t want this to sit on my shelve.

It does have a double sided board.
