this is a really good idea! it might be hard to keep the product straight, but if they could figure out some sort of guide to keep it straight long enough to become mostly solid it could be a very good solution for quicker production
this is done with a 'shaft key.' @ 0:55 notice the notches in the center hole of the plates and spacers. the shaft is similarly notched and a metal bar (the 'key') goes through to keep all the pieces locked together.
