In my 42 years the best pan fishing advice I ever got was from an old perch fishing guide who told me that anytime panfish are stacked up on structure you should pick away at them from the outside to the inside. Because as you pull a fish through the school of fish they will spook or lock up a lot quicker. I started fishing crappie like that years ago and haven’t looked back. That old perch guide was my dad’s good friend who just passed away last year. So now I like to share that great tip with others the same way he shared it with me. Tight lines Justin! God bless.

@@LeviW133 Diamond-Backs, love them. They eat rodents and control pests. A bite is pretty dangerous, but can be be prevented with careful travel and a good pistol with snake-shot. They are you friend if you respect them and keep your distance.
@@lacygearheart5700 yeah it was one of the most beautiful Snakes that I have ever seen and all's it wanted was to get away from me and it crawled under a big rock and the only thing that alerted me that he was there is because he rattled the only snake that I have seen that was prettyer than the diamondback rattlesnake is the coral snake
@@LeviW133 Just keep in mind, a lot of AZ rattle snakes have adapted to protect themselves by no longer rattling. Just make a lot of noise while hiking so they will leave before you get there. 🤞
to often in fishing ive gotten caught up with bass fishing and only going after 5 pounders, fishing hours for the one bite. these videos helped me realize there is just as fun in small fishing and its really helped me enjoy myself out on the water. keep it up justin 👍👍
Yes bro i got a $40 Zebco ultralight and have had almost more fun catching panfish and small bass. But nothing beats reeling in a 20” bass on the Abu revo x
I bought 2 little jars of the gulp smelt minnows with some 1/64th Oz jig heads and caught three nice crappie my first time out using them. One was 14 inches and my PB! I have probably only caught 5 crappie my whole life and never targeted them before. I'm having so much fun and I thank you Justin. Greetings from NC!!!

Was going to make an ultralight trip yesterday and checked the temp at 6:30 it was already 79 with a heat index of 87 with 78% humidity. Said the heck with that by 10 it was 100 with 108 index. It was 107 today with a index 121 . Never thought I'd be glad to see it in the low 90's. Middle GA is so hot right now. If you go out stay hydrated know it preaching to the choir but stay safe in the heat, so I can sit in the A/C and watch you.🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥

Good video. The Tennessee River Valley and the Appalachian foothills where you live is one of the more picturesque areas of the South. My first inclination as to why the crappie are bunched up around that dock is the shad. What is their behavior and proximity as it relates to that dock? Based on what you've said in the past relative to catfish (I do pay attention), that's my guess as to where the answer will be found. Also, I was wondering what the result would be if you stepped it up to the 2.5" Gulp and a 1/32 oz jig head in response to catching the undersized crappie. As you've told us many times before, bigger catfish prefer different size baits at times. There are early and late shad spawns. Is it possible that, at this time of year, larger crappie may have a preference for the bigger bait fish over the shad fry?

Well that's been three days ago bc in another message to me he said you will have to pay for the shipping which is cool with me I was just excited. I went on asking how much the shipping was and got a rude reply that said I told you just to buy a Google Play gift card at any store near you and send a screenshot. I only thought it was rude and unlike John bc I wasn't told that in any way. Sorry for the long message but you and him are all I watch period, I don't miss any video, and I really wanted to know what your advice would be on that

I threw some larger baits on this trip but didn’t catch anything with them so I edited them out of the video.
