I agree with Johan H. I don’t believe children owe their parents anything, and I say this as a mother raising two kids . Children are brought into the world without their consent, so it’s the parents' responsibility and obligation to care for them completely. Whatever a child does for their parents when they grow up should come from love, not out of a sense of obligation or debt. Any pain or difficulties parents endure while raising their children are part of their responsibility and should not be something they expect repayment for. The child didn’t ask to be created-that’s how I see it. My kids don’t owe me anything.
