I love how there are so many older people out there who love Thomas. Me being near 18 and i've been attached to it ever since my mom sat me in front of a TV to watch it. I cant wait for Thomas to be 100. Maybe it will have a special, with model trains :????!?

@@Skyehye3113 The model and CGI series are the same canon, it's been confirmed by several people who worked on them. Any differences between them are either errors, retcons or fans looking too deep into this, but they were still intended to be the same

DOWT is pretty different now, as they replaced the voice on the dummy unit, but people who went to the OG day out with thomas will remember when thomas couldnt talk.

I actually went to the one at the Strasburg railroad in Pennsylvania, and this one has a working steam engine with a Thomas face that I would imagine can talk, but I haven't been there in ages so I wouldn't be able to know.

I went to a day out with Thomas last week with some friends after many years (7 years if I remember correctly). I was hoping for some new thomas wooden railway stuff. I just went to a day out with thomas last year and it was a blast to go!
It is kinda odd there as im way past the target demographic but nobody looked at me funny, and just excepted me for my hobby.
Unfortunately i wasnt able to grt the "day out with thomas 2022" engine which i was upset about as i wanted it for awhile.
Even with that aside.
If your a thomas fan of any age i definitely recommend going. Ill forever remember my experience!

bro i remember in like 2011 when i went to DOWT it was so fun in nostalogic, there were tents with classic thomas dvds and classic trackmaster engines with old wooden railway engines and i miss it so much.
I wish I would of went during those era! wonder what they had back then!

Being outside of thomiz there funni taliking steam locomotive for a sec,that New York Central Railroad f and b unit are pretty hard to find now,as from what I remember,a lot were scrapped!

I haven't been to day out with Thomas for about five years and so far it looks just as good as I remember, while yes they don't have the merchandise they once had, it's nice to see that they are still selling the stuff like notebooks and other cool stuff, great video!

@@thomascollectibles Well last time I went, the crappy wood models were at its prime and while I did get a few, i did end up upgrading the items for the 2003 learning curve variants, but other then that, they had a lot of fun stuff like soccer balls, footballs, and a bunch of cool stuff I wish I could've gotten.

It's sad how Mattel has been killing the legacy that the Rev. W. Awdry and Britt Allcroft spent decades building up, especially this year. They blocked uploads of classic Thomas and Shining Time Station episodes from RUclips, disassociated themselves from the very community that watches Thomas' show and buys his merchandise, and the only new Thomas Wooden Railway model for this year was from the DOTW event, which doesn't seem to have the same spark it did in the past. (Not helping matters is that it's the first day of June.) If I were in charge of the Thomas Wooden Railway revival line, I'd have had new models of characters like Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, and Toad released months ago. It makes me wish that another leading wooden train company, such as Orbrium, which released several promising products this year, were able to acquire the Thomas license.
I need to go back, I miss DAY OUT WITH TOMAS

I went to every Day Out With Thomas at the Midland Railway in Kansas every year from 2003 to 2011. I wanted to volunteer to help run the tents in those later years, but such opportunities were only available to groups and organizations. They stopped doing DOWT events before I ever considered going back, and the railroad itself has changed hands recently.

@@thomascollectibles the reverser is located in the cab with the rest of the engine’s controls (throttle, dynamic braking, horn, bell and sand controls, etc)
As a volunteer at the Midland Ry in Baldwin City, KS, I did every event- was a lot of work, but very rewarding to see the joy it brought to the kids (and adults). 2018 was the last year- partly because there was a Thomas event at KC’s Crown Center, and no mention was made that there was a DOWT event 50 miles away- left a bad taste… Through a series of mismanagement and illegal activities, the RR has changed hands twice- all tied up in court battles- no telling if it will ever come back…
