Excellent video, thank you for taking the time to make it. Question: you mentioned in another video wanting to do Equipping Minds with your daughter. I am beyond fascinated with Carol Brown’s method. Have you looked into using UA funds to cover this curriculum? Do you know anything about it from a UA standpoint? I know they have their monthly no interest plan which is amazing. I was also curious, what type of service would this be considered in UA being that they are so dynamic in their “curriculum?” They even have their music therapy program so would that mean filling out the music lessons form? Side note: One thing my husband and I have done to take the stress out of reimbursements is to create a separate checking account that we add to monthly (it’s not much but it’s separate money from bills and living expenses). With the panic last year of delayed funds and denials, we thought it best to prepare for this year and have that to use so we don’t have to have fear of lack of funds. It has removed a lot of stress from us. Again thank you. We are praying for you too ❤️
Ty! I'm still waiting to be funded, they told me between August 1st and 15th. I'm hoping I can start shopping Thursday cause my daughter desperately needs some work to do!!! I also didn't know they funded quarterly, that may put a damper on some plans I had, but either way things will work out!
Hello Leilani, Great video, thank you! I hope you're well. I've used you for years as my evaluator. 🙂So this current year I enrolled my son into public school. But now I'm looking into the PEP scholarship for next school year, so I called today to Step Up to ask a few questions. The young lady I spoke with told me that the PEP scholarship is only for students attending hybrid schools. He would be required to attend a few days in one. Which I wasn't aware of, and I can't seem to find anything online that states that? You didn't mention that in your video as a requirement, either. Do you have any information regarding the need to attend a hybrid school? I feel like maybe the young lady might have been misinformed.
Thank you so much for doing this! I'm a busy mom, a five and a homeschool mother as well as a foster parent! So I really appreciate you going the extra mile to do this! However! I have two big huge questions right now and I'm pretty much I wouldn't say drowning but something like that lol 1) Does the PEP for sure cover SAT prep? 2) Does the PEP for sure cover Liberty Online and/or Liberty Dual Enrollment? I really hope you can help me and disregard, but if not thank you anyway!
Hello! Thank you for this video. We just started homeschooling for the first time. I signed up with the school district, but then learned about the PEP scholarship. I called step up to see how to sign up with pep (since I can't be signed up with the school district) and the answer on how to sign up was not clear. Where do I go to sign up for PEP after I withdraw from homeschool from the school district? The website was not clear either on where I sign up with the state to be eligible for PEP? Thank you!
Thank you for your informative video! We have pep currently. 2 of my kids I might possibly switch to UA for speech therapy. Any insights on that process? 🤪 Also, can I put them in an umbrella school if they are accepted into UA?
Hi! We are coming from a private school into PEP, do we need to send a letter of intent? I think the answer is No, since its not under homeschool laws, but I want to make sure to do everything right! Thank you!🙏
Can you please do a new video on how to get started with homeschooling from picking curriculums and steps for someone new to this. I have two littles. Ages 7 and 8. Both have unique abilities scholarships, we are currently finishing up private school, but I am wanting to get started in homeschooling. We are a Christian family also. And I need information on how to use their scholarships for homeschooling, and what are the requirements to get started. We live in Florida. What do I need to do?
Okay, I can see what I can do. But I will say, there is already a lot of this here too. (I know it’s a lot to shift through though)I also have a blog that I just wrote on my website and I’m going to make a video off of that one soon. It’s how to Homeschool Special Needs. For the scholarship, I can see what I can do. They keep changing, but I can share.
I'd like to withdrawal my child from kindergarten at her private school (FES funded) to start homeschooling now/mid year. But i learned of PEP today. Is the process the same given the fact that we had FES for private? Can i pull mid year and still get PEP?
@LivingWithEve ah ok. So I may be able to pull her now but just as a normal home school then apply for PEP in May for the upcoming year? In regards to the FES funding, they fund quarterly & the school will lose their remaining payouts, I'm not worried about that... My baby is getting further behind everyday. Just want to make sure I do things in the correct order =\
That’s strange? Did you read up on all the requirements? I know they asked for specific types of doctors to do the diagnosis I would find out and try again.
I’m confused. My daughter was in public school I sent letter of intent to withdraw her and homeschool. Been homeschooling her since 2020. This year I applied for pep, was approved, awarded and funded for pep. What was I suppose to do as for withdrawing from homeschool?
You’re suppose to terminate your homeschool because you are now part of the PEP program. Call the district and see if you can get all the documentation right. It’s fairly new so it’s been confusing for a lot of people.
Hi! Thank you for the video. While searching on how to transfer from a private school to PEP, I encountered your channel. My question is, may I transfer my daughter from a private school to PEP by the beginning of 2025 or must I wait till the end of the school year? I couldn't find any answer in the scholarship student handbook. If you can please guide me, I'd really appreciate it. In the meantime I'll look into the Home Education Foundation website. Thank you
Thank you for this video! We have recently been funded but had no idea we needed to withdraw for the Home Education Program. So, because we need to take the end of year test we don not submit the Portfolio Evaluation?
So I just moved to Florida from Arizona. We don’t have a permanent address because we are now traveling within Florida for work. They said we could use the work shop address when we need to get state IDs but I’m not sure if it would be allowed to use as an address when applying for the pep application. Do you know how the process works if you don’t have an actual address because of travel?
We are technically Homeschool, but I recently applied for the PEP scholarship and we were awarded. Not funded yet. Specifically, what do I have to do to withdraw from Homeschool?
My daughter had or has step up scholarship. I pulled her out of private school in Nov 2023. How do I reapply or transfer it over? Im not sure if she still has it. It’s been 9 months.
Hi I have pep and I got awarded and I'm just waiting to be funded I'm still completely confused of how to use the it afterwards I just found out that I could use it for extracurricular activities. For the extracurricular activities does it come out from the funding or does Step Up pays for it separately
The funding is Step Up. Most places you have to pay upfront and then turn in the receipts to step up. They have lots of tutorials and when you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy. But it does take time.
Hii, does anyone know if my child is in private school with a step up scholarship but I wanna move them when the school year is over to homeschool, can I apply for the PEP?
@@coralisisell I am not quite sure what you’re asking but if you plan on apply for the scholarship in May 2025, then yes. She has to be evaluated in December 2024.

Thank you so much for this video. We've been homeschooling from the beginning with my kids, but this will be my first year as PEP.
Thanks so much for this great video.
This video was very helpful and informative! Thank you so much ❤
Thank you so much for this video 🙏🙏 Gby
Very well explained! Thank you.

That’s a great idea. Yes, UA will cover Equipping Minds. I actually got it pre approved.

It might be September. That’s what it was last year.
I did hear that it takes some time once you're funded to have access to the shop. Just FYI
Hello I would suggest if you are still waiting. Try out Good and beautiful. They have a free app and free downloadable curriculum.

The fact that any money left over rolls over into the next year. UA money can also go into a 529 college plan!
Yes, I just started doing that!

2) Does the PEP for sure cover Liberty Online and/or Liberty Dual Enrollment?

It should at the least cover SAT prep course. Not sure about Liberty online duel enrollment. We haven’t tried that. Let me know if you find out.

So we did this with one of my kids. Basically during the application period you would just apply for the UA instead of the PEP.

The correct answer is no

If I homeschool and have the UA scholarship can I still get services from my zoned school, like speech and OT at the school?
Thank you for the information. Did you know when they close the enrollment for this next year of school?
Thank you in advance
It is around June 2025
For the 2024-2025 school year?

I’m pretty sure you will have to reapply in around May as a homeschooler. If you pull her out you will loose those funds.

We were denied. 😑 And I’m not surprised.
That’s strange? Did you read up on all the requirements? I know they asked for specific types of doctors to do the diagnosis I would find out and try again.
Did they say why??

You would have to call to make sure they will accept that. PEP does require you to have documentation of Florida address.
Is this for public school students also.
There is one for private school but slightly different. This is not for public school.
We are technically Homeschool, but I recently applied for the PEP scholarship and we were awarded. Not funded yet. Specifically, what do I have to do to withdraw from Homeschool?
Send in a termination letter.
Do you have to use providers listed in EMA for music lessons or can you hire someone who isn’t a provider and still be reimbursed?
You can hire outside of EMA, you just have to get their credentials and a special receipt with all the information on it.
We just applied for PEP. It says pending. How long does it take to be approved?
Hopefully it’s gone through by now, if not, I would call them.
Standardized testing was a surprise I didn't read about. How does that work?
You just take the test and import the scores into their database.
If you pull put of pep, do you pay back any money you have used?
No
My daughter had or has step up scholarship. I pulled her out of private school in Nov 2023. How do I reapply or transfer it over? Im not sure if she still has it. It’s been 9 months.
This you would need to call them.
You have to decline the current scholarship and be transferred to the PEP scholarship
Does anybody know how long it takes for the My Scholarship Shop to have the login in and is ready to go? TyIA
One you are funded.

You would have to do it for next school year.
Awesome, thank you 💯
Mi girl first evaluation for homeschool will be on December. Did I need to evaluate her before if I apply for the scholarship?
Thank you in advance
Yes
What evaluation is this?
@@coralisisell I am not quite sure what you’re asking but if you plan on apply for the scholarship in May 2025, then yes. She has to be evaluated in December 2024.
They will control you… money isn’t for free.
