"Mr. JAWS" by Dickie Goodman (1975)

This record parodies the 1975 summer blockbuster film Jaws, featuring Dickie Goodman interviewing the shark (whom he dubs "Mr. Jaws") as well as the film's main characters, Brody, Hooper, and Quint. Goodman employs his signature "break-in" music sampling technique, where all interview responses are lyrics from popular songs of that year.The single peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1975. On the Cash Box Top 100, it performed even better, reaching #1.
Goodman would later create more parodies of Hollywood films, along with political satire records. The B-side of this single was "Irv's Theme."The song was released under the label Cash Records, a name Goodman conceived when asked to whom the record company should make the check out. The recording took place at Sear Sound in New York, engineered by Russ Hamm. Initially, the record featured sampled songs; however, when it became a hit, later pressings used sound-alike recordings instead.

Believe it or not, I saw the "1975" and thought of my favorite band the Eagles. "One of These Nights" was number 1 in 1975.Just as I was thinking this, I hear at 1:16 Henley singing "Getch a baby one of these nights"😂 great stuff, all great songs👍

The records were considered parody and the samples short so he didn’t pay royalties. He started using the mash ups of songs in the 50s… maybe one of first to do sampling? . I think Mr JAWS is by far the best… I had a bunch of the 45s. Most of his stuff is on I-Tunes and worth having just because it’s still funny .

Never heard of this 😂. Sounds like a Ray Stevens type record. He did The Streak song about streakers if you can’t remember that.
Only Jaws related record Ive got is my slightly battered Jaws original soundtrack album that my Dad bought me in 1975. MCA records I believe.
Me and my brother used to play Chrissies death scene over and over with me as Chrissie and my brother dragging me around the lounge as the 🦈 😂
