  • Welcome! Today we join a team of motorcycle officers on duty to escort a large police bus through the city of The Hague in the Netherlands. The officers in the bus have instructions to pick up a big number of detainees and transport them to another location.

      The route is as it is to arrive the bus in the traffic direction. Making a U-turn with a ~15meter bus if it would go against traffic direction isn't probably that feasible on that piece of highway

    • @Tosty_82
      @Tosty_82 4 дня назад +1

      In this case the a12 highway inbound was the preferred arrival route to the protestors. Taking the shorter route can only bring you on the outbound lanes. That’s why the detour was needed

    The pedestrian was definitely ignorant. Crossing in front of the stopped cars at the light was okay since the escort wasn't going to be driving through them anyways, however the pedestrian should have just stopped before even crossing to begin with because the bike cop was telling everyone to stop and also because the pedestrian doesn't know what the situation is. After that they should have DEFINITELY stopped at the island after the cars stopped at the light because that part is open and the escort CAN go through that part (which it turns out is exactly where they were going.)

    I once overtook a Coach loaded with Passengers on a Hairpin Bend in the Adelaide Hills (South Australia).
    A highly illegal manoeuvre, only to discover as I pulled away, that the Passengers onboard the Coach were all serving Police Officers.
    “Oh Crap” thought I , knowing that a Traffic Citation will doubtless arrive in the Mail in a day or two.
    Never received one.
    It’s possible that when they Ran My Registration Plate Number they discovered that I was a Divisional “Chief Staff Officer” Operations with another Government Emergency Service Organization and presumed possibly that I was responding to an Operational Call-out (which I was, but still No Excuse for acting unlawfully).
    Or more likely they were simply Stunned to witness My Tenacity and Guile.

    1:47 Probably both..So many people I encounter outside or in public transport etc. don't even seem to notice there's other people and a whole world existing, as if they're wearing some VR-lenses full time. How they manage to survive is a mystery to me, especially the ones that decide to cross a road at a completely random spot without looking in the direction drivers are coming from. Maybe they are thrill seekers looking for a new "high" after gotten bored with BASE jumping?

    The biker @9:05 is on the left cause he wants to give space to the car that is merging on the right as his lane is about to end. Its not written in law that you have to give space (by moving on the left) to merging lanes, however a lot of people (myself included) would move left (if we dont obstruct people ofc) to give space and move out of people's blindspots who are merging/changing lanes (this is especially true for bikers). Being a biker myself, it was hammered into me that people tend to overlook bikers and thus we were taught to make ourselves appear "big" and to take into account that car drivers generally check for cars and not smaller bikers, thus being on the left makes us more visible to the car allowing him to merge in without being stressed for space.

    • @groentjuheu

      Given this was just 62 arrests, this must have been 15 oktober 2022 (3rd block of that highway). Between 6 July 2022 and now that same group blocked that same highway 35 times and sources reported about 12000 arrest were made during protests.
      I guess they really do not want protesters to block that highway and get rid of them quickly?

    • @robinv320
      @robinv320 3 месяца назад +6

      Announced, yes. However, protesting requires that the municipality agrees with the protesters on the amount of people and the location. If the municipality disagrees, they have the power to relocate a protest to a safer or bigger location. This was exactly the case in this situation, as protesting on the highway is not allowed and incredibly dangerous.

    • @lowrangemaniac5326
      @lowrangemaniac5326 10 дней назад +2

      I think is because the "cargo" of the police bus was registered has high priority load, high value load, high risk load, and because of that it can't stop at red lights and so on and they had to rush and escort it to the destination.
      I saw a similar escort there in Italy, where a group of cops escorted a security truck load of a great amount of money, and those money where highly requested by the Government for some international business and emergency... That's in my opinion the motivation behind the escort of this bus

  • @SwissPGO
    @SwissPGO 9 дней назад +1

    Does not makes sense that a bus with policemen gets priority like that... it's not that there was a riot in prison. And no prisoners were on the bus. The bus could have left a bit earlier and arrive on time without special treatment. I respect police work, don't get me wrong, but here I disagree with the operation.

    • @codex4048
      @codex4048 6 дней назад +1

      If the bus being 5 minutes later means 5 minutes longer of unsafe traffic situations, and taking up way more manpower than is needed when the people are on the bus I dont have a problem with an action like this.

    • @SwissPGO
      @SwissPGO 6 дней назад

      @@codex4048 Not convinced by your answer, but I may see another reason that makes a bit more sense to have the bus accompanied by the motor cycle brigade, as once the prisoners are loaded, the same motor brigade accompanies the bus to its destination for safety reasons. But then still the way towards the prison could have taken a few minutes longer without rushing and the blue lights.
