In addition to this tribute, there was a remembrance of Officer Guindon on WTOP yesterday. She will not be forgotten by those of us who live in the Prince William County area.
The comments of the surviving officer were the most truthful about being a street cop. You might not know the other officer but when another officer needs help, you will move Heaven and Earth to get to them. You put your life on the line for people that you have never met, let alone another officer. It's hard to explain to anyone who has not put his life into another person's hand and had them put their life into yours. Officer Guindon lost her life doing something that she loved and lived her life without fear. I didn't know her personally but I know the spirit of those who run toward danger as others are running from it. These street cops live their working hours protecting us while we sleep in our beds.
