Salsa directly translates in English to "Sauce". So the beer that was 'con salsa' likely did not contain any salsa the way you are thinking. Traditionally, a Michelada contains: lime, salt, Worcestershire sauce and sometimes soy sauce. Hope this helps clear things up!
I had to go look up Michelada online-apparently they do often make it with shoyu. Thanks to David and Maria for sending these interesting items and to you both for being so wonderful to try these and let us know what they taste like!
It's either shoyu or Goya sauce (which is very shoyu-like but more concentrated). Along with that and beer goes hot sauce and clamato, which is a clam juice and tomato juice mix. As odd as it sounds, it's a very refreshing way to consume beer!
Cactus is a neutral taste. Texture like green pepper, but the taste is subtle with a sour note. Super delicious. Mixed with veggies in a taco is so so good!
Hey , insects as food are a HUGE taboo in parts of the world including where I'm sure you grew up! There is no shame in not wanting to eat that. I love your videos, it's always fun to see an array of interesting snacks from around the world, and your honest reactions to them.
Wow, this was one of the most interesting assortment of goodies you’ve had so far I think. Really enjoyed this! What a beautiful selection of Mexican foods. Shinichi you’re funny! Love you guys!❤️
The big wafers were made of rice paper and cajeta, a goat's milk caramel. I looove cajeta wafers! As for the chapulines, I would love to try the Hoppers. I've been wanting to try insects for a long time.
I thought the white coating was similar to the edible rice paper that's used as a base when making nougat candies so they don't stick to each other. :)
Thank you for the wonderful treats, David and Maria! That was a very interesting assortment of snacks and treats. I was sure the chocolate for use with coffee would be nice, and I'm glad it was! Thanks for the great video. :-)
The jalapeno chips and corn chips look very good, I love that taste. Those coffee chocolate sticks are like a natural "flavour shot" like they have in north America, very good idea!! Thank you for sending them the items to try out for us to see.
I am late to comment but the Taza chocolate is like another brand known as Abuelita which is meant to be broken off and whisked into hot milk. It makes the best hot chocolate in the world!
Not sure that knowing they're grasshoppers and not worms makes you feel any better. 😂 It's nice that you still tried it though. I wouldn't have. Haha Much love! ♡
Hey guys, great video as always. I just love you 2 so much. By the way the visual look is so clear it's like your almost there with you. Great job. As always best wishes from Bethlehem pa. Bye
The goat caramel is called cajeta here in Texas (カヘタ)。I love cajeta. It's way better than regular caramel. Cacahuate is derived from the Nahuatl (Aztec) word for peanuts. It's pronounced カカウァ テ. Chapulin, avocado, cacao, chili, chipotle, chocolate, guacamole, jicama, nopal, tamale, tequila and tomato are also all derived from Nahuatl. They're not an exact match, but they're close. Jamoncillo is pronounced ハマンシヨ。But without the h in shi. It's usually called jamoncillo de leche. Or as most people know it, dulce de leche (milk sweet), aka Mexican fudge. It's supposed to be a sort of cross between vanilla and caramel in flavor.
What a fun video! Lol! Soy sauce ponzu beer! 😂😂 Brother!!! I can’t stop laughing at your reaction to the dehydrated worms. All kidding aside, I’m so glad that you’re both open to trying foods and snacks from all over the world. If there’s one thing that’s bothersome to me, it’s when someone turns their nose up to something, just because it looks different. Trust me, I have to listen to people close to me, turn their noses up, and make almost rude comments about various types of Japanese food(s). My gosh! Try it once, if you like it, great! If not, then at least you tried it! That’s how I raised my son, and now he’s a total foodie. The more unusual, the better!
Mindy's Mom If a food is taboo in your culture, like insects or dog or horse or something similar, then it’s normal to have an aversion to it and turn up your nose. It’s also not rude to not want to eat it or to admit you find it unappealing. It is more polite to be honest then to be fake and lie and do something you don’t want to just to save face. Some people enjoy trying everything, some people have limits. There is no shame in living how you choose.
I laughed so hard when you drank the Sol Michelada. Michelada here contains Clamato (tomato based juice, similar to Bloody Mary), Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Mexican beer, and lime. And the rim of the glass is normally covered in chili salt. It’s perfect for the mornings after you drank a little too much!
What a cool and interesting Mexican food haul. Maybe your michelada had some Maggi sauce in it - lending it a kind of soy sauce flavor. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants used to serve a chapulines soup. It had a nice, rich, nutty taste. Thanks for sharing this haul with us!
This is Cat from Brooklyn NY!🐱 I think you guys showed extreme bravery to try all those different foods and all the other foods that people have sent you in previous videos! And I want to say that I love this video a lot! I think you should actually set limits for people if you don't want bugs, say no bugs! That may be easier for you, but not as funny for us! Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY! 🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👍🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👿🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊💀🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😬🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👹🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😠🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👻🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👺🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👾🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😈🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊🤖🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😵🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊👽🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😨🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊😵🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊🐱🔥🎃🔥❤🔥☻🍊❤🐱
Goat milk caramels are wonderful. We have a lot of Mexican grocery stores in our area and my boys LOVE those caramels! BTW, jamoncillo is pronounced ham-ohn-see-yoh. We used to call it Mexican fudge.
LOL! This was a fun vid. I couldn't stop laughing at the bugs part. I have to say though that the swinging white thing on the Milk poster above Shinichi's head is very distracting! I don't know what it is though.
Funny thing is that I had never eaten a “bug” until I was in Japan! I was offered a snack of grasshoppers that had been candied in soy sauce and sugar. It was delicious.
Super fun video! I loved how Satoshi was teasing with the hoppers, but in Shinichi's defense, they did look pretty gross. It would have taken me just as much courage to eat them. But congrats for trying them. :) I hope you got to try real, fresh guacamole while you were in L.A. I bet it was 100x better than the "stuff in the jar". Thanks for sharing, I had lots of fun watching it.
Each video I watch I get more and more in love with your reactions!!!! You two are so cuuuute!!! :3 Don't have the courage you have to try the Hopper.. >_> Kisses from Brazil!
I love international taste tests, and this one was the funniest yet for me! xD You guys are so cute and funny, with such natural reactions to the food, that is adorable and cracking! Wonder how you guys would react to colombian snacks :3
Chapulines are grasshoppers, not worms. I cannot eat them either though, to me they smell disgusting...you can put them in tacos with some onion, cilantro, strong salsa and lemon to mask the smell, that way they are tolerable. My dog loves chapulines as treats though, you could try giving them to Justin if you still have the jar ;) If you guys like tequila, try the worm salt with tequila instead of beer (lemon + worm salt + tequila shot). Also do they not sell stout in Japan? I am amazed you guys never seen dark beer before.
As you guys can read in the can, that isn't a beer, well... kinda... Michellada is a drink made with beer, salt, lemon, hot sauce... and i think that Worsh--- worshes... that dark tangy tamarind english sauce
Those don't look like worms.. they look like grasshoppers. XD I'm pretty sure those are grasshoppers, and that would explain the name XD Gosh that was a fun vid! I want to try the chocolate coffee sticks!
Oh, don't you have dark beers in Japan? In Europe they are quite popular. There are many different kinds, some get their colour from the roasted hops and some are made using rye, which gives the beer the dark colour, just like rye bread is dark also. Some even taste almost like liquid rye bread, which I love :p
Those grasshoppers looked like niboshi. Don't you eat seafood? Shrimps are like water grasshoppers, octopus tentacles are like worms, all the same, just different point of view. :)
Ajajajaja man it would be awesome if you tried something more traditional (well, grasshoppers are really traditional in Oaxaca jaja in the south of Mexico in general).
I’ve never seen that salt, but that beer is popular in South Texas. Dressed Beer is really popular here. I don’t drink but I always see the long lines at the drive thrus after work and the men getting their Dressed Beers. Well, women too. But mostly hard working men. Where are you at Miss Tina?
Tijuana is pretty close to the US border so they dont have THAT much of a mexican taste, is more like an industrialized candy Chapulines (grasshopers) are only eaten at the south and center of Mexico and they are not eaten that often 🤔
Satoshi should keep those grasshoppers nearby and shake the jar every time shinichi gives him liquorice.
He should lol
...or over acts ;)
Salsa directly translates in English to "Sauce". So the beer that was 'con salsa' likely did not contain any salsa the way you are thinking.
Traditionally, a Michelada contains: lime, salt, Worcestershire sauce and sometimes soy sauce. Hope this helps clear things up!
lol at Satoshi offering the hoppers to Shinichi
Chapulines are not worms, they are grasshoppers (グラスホッパー).
Ikr
You beat me to it, yes, they're grasshoppers. :)
Yeah that was killing me. I was yelling at the screen lol. I mean, just freakin look at them!
Aaaaa grasshoppers T.T
Yup. I've had them :) crunchy and savoury is my review of them too. I like grasshoppers better than dried mealworms.
I had to go look up Michelada online-apparently they do often make it with shoyu. Thanks to David and Maria for sending these interesting items and to you both for being so wonderful to try these and let us know what they taste like!

LOL! Satoshi is so funny! He kept trying to give Shinichi the worms to eat. This was a challenging taste test! But very fun to watch lol.
The big wafers were made of rice paper and cajeta, a goat's milk caramel. I looove cajeta wafers! As for the chapulines, I would love to try the Hoppers. I've been wanting to try insects for a long time.

Satoshi a mad man trying to give you the grasshoppers (they aren't worms!) over and over haha!
It's revenge for all the times Shinichi has tortured him with licorice.
so true lol, now to send licorice flavoured grasshoppers...ROFL. No that is not a very good idea, I cringed with the thought.
Shinichi's face with the Chapulines lol, Satochi finally got shinichi back for the licorice, love watching you guys ☺
If you don't like the grass hoppers by themselves I recommend deep frying them with panko and dipping in lime with chili oil!
Nice
Yoyr expressions are too adorable! Had me bust out laughing when I didn't expect it. Thank you for doing this fun video!
Great video - you made me laugh when you ate the hoppers!!
Hi Satoshi and Shinichi good to see you guy's snack time love it thanks stay safe God BLESS to all
Satoshi is so playful today..haha Sinichi is cute though trying to avoid eating the grasshopper😁
Not sure that knowing they're grasshoppers and not worms makes you feel any better. 😂
It's nice that you still tried it though. I wouldn't have. Haha
Much love! ♡
I was just opening RUclips and I was hoping to see a new video .. and yours just popped out 😂 love you guys
grasshoppers taste like pistachios. you guys should try ranch dried crickets they are delicious
Hey guys, great video as always. I just love you 2 so much. By the way the visual look is so clear it's like your almost there with you. Great job. As always best wishes from Bethlehem pa. Bye
Lol you two are funny! Great video
Satoshi had me lol offering Shinichi those hoppers! I'd totally be grossed out too!
I’ve always wanted to visit Japan, I’ve never had Japanese food or snacks but I am very interested in your culture.
Habanero is a slow heat, it will sneak up on you... LOL, you two are awesome, i watch all your videos, keep em coming!!!
OMG, the look on your faces when you drank the beer. Priceless!
The knocking at 6:13 scared me 😳 had to rewind and make sure I wasn't hearing things lol, great video, guys! 😘
The goat caramel is called cajeta here in Texas (カヘタ)。I love cajeta. It's way better than regular caramel.

@@patstone3259 'no shame in living how you choose' AGREED, because that's how we were born/'made'.
pretty fun. I'm surprised no one's sent prepacked pan dulce yet. There needs to be a melon pan vs concha pan battle.
I laughed so hard when you drank the Sol Michelada. Michelada here contains Clamato (tomato based juice, similar to Bloody Mary), Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Mexican beer, and lime. Ha. Thanks for tasting and describing the michelada. I've never tried it before, but always wondered.

I love this Mexican treat/ food tasting!!!! May I say that the Hoppers are not warms but they are grasshopper, very pre Zapotec. ❤️👌🏽👍🏽
Satoshi is eatting it like candy😂
This is Cat from

love you guy,s never give up. keep on making these great entertaining vid,s thank you
Made my day lol, love you both!
Goat milk caramels are wonderful. We have a lot of Mexican grocery stores in our area and my boys LOVE those caramels! BTW, jamoncillo is pronounced ham-ohn-see-yoh. We used to call it Mexican fudge.

I’m so glad I discovered your channel today.
LOL couldn't stop laughing over the bug!! Great Video!
Very interesting foods from Mexico, I’d love to try the drink one.
Love your reactions XD Shin is so scared.
メキシコに行ってみたくなる面白い食べ物ばかりでした。虫モノはシンイチさんの反応に笑ってしまいますw虫を渡すサトシさんも楽しそうでまた笑ってしまうw
Funny thing is that I had never eaten a “bug” until I was in Japan! I was offered a snack of grasshoppers that had been candied in soy sauce and sugar. It was delicious.
Love your vids, keep it going!

I’m more afraid of anything “goat cheese” (goat milk) than I am worms or bugs. I’d react that way to the goat product. Lol
More hoppers please
Worm salt hilarious! LOL
He's all "I hate worms" and Emmy's all "So, let's eat this tarantula".
I'd love to try freeze dried bugs!
Chapulines are grasshoppers, not worms. I cannot eat them either though, to me they smell disgusting...you can put them in tacos with some onion, cilantro, strong salsa and lemon to mask the smell, that way they are tolerable. Also do they not sell stout in Japan? I am amazed you guys never seen dark beer before.
I love the goat milk caramels.
LOL I want some kind of battle... like liquorish vs. Hoppers or so xD
Very brave to eat grasshoppers! The texture would get to me. Santoshi is quite a tease!
Liquorice Hoppers must be TabiEats kryptonite food :P
As you guys can read in the can, that isn't a beer, well... kinda... Michellada is a drink made with beer, salt, lemon, hot sauce... and i think that Worsh--- worshes... that dark tangy tamarind english sauce
I kinda want to send you edible bugs now. It's so entertaining watching you squirm.
Oh my stars watching you guys ea the bugs I was laughing so hard I had to stop the video and wipe my eyes.
No dark beer before? Does Japan not have stout either?
Where did you get that first beer 😍
So brave!
Should a few of them hoppers in his food without telling him😂😁
Hahahaha. Thumbs up for even trying those worms and grasshoppers. I wouldn't. Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣 GRASSHOPPERS not worms, but still nasty. You’re both too funny!
6:13 someone's knocking! Also, they were not worms, (you probably know this now lol), but I could instantly tell they were grasshoppers :).
Chapulines are actually grasshoppers, not worms, lol. Also, this was probably my favorite video so far! :)
Those don't look like worms.. they look like grasshoppers. XD I'm pretty sure those are grasshoppers, and that would explain the name XD Gosh that was a fun vid! I want to try the chocolate coffee sticks!

So what does the dehydrated worm taste like like ramen powder hahaha I love your videos
Soooo yum!! :D Well, except for the bugs ahahah
I kept on laughing during the bug scene! When did this show get so funny? :D
Thanks, Im up early in the PNW!
Make tacos and add the grasshoppers to them. I've been told they're tasty that way :)
Interesting !
Michelada is the mix of salt, chilli powder, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and clamato juice!
Alberto Batres , that sounds better than beer with soy/ponzu.
Those grasshoppers looked like niboshi. Don't you eat seafood? Shrimps are like water grasshoppers, octopus tentacles are like worms, all the same, just different point of view. :)
that is a good way to look at it.
Ajajajaja man it would be awesome if you tried something more traditional (well, grasshoppers are really traditional in Oaxaca jaja in the south of Mexico in general).
guys which is better? 1. show things on the table 2. or not? (I prefer 1. cuz I can focus on Satoshi and Sinichi :D)
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT SALT OR EVEN SEEN THAT BEER.
Your Spanish pronunciation is pretty good.
how could I send you snacks??? o.o
contact them on Instagram or Facebook?
Tijuana is pretty close to the US border so they dont have THAT much of a mexican taste, is more like an industrialized candy
Chapulines (grasshopers) are only eaten at the south and center of Mexico and they are not eaten that often 🤔
trash I was honestly thinking about that. I was worried I was losing touch with learning about Mexican culture/snacks.
*Hoppers?!?*
I want to send you beetle lollipops and silkworms lol
Lol lol so funny!
Lol lol lol lol soooo funny!
I think the teasing was only fair after all the gifts of liquorice ;-)
Shinichi oppa ur funny.. Hopper 😂😂
anindita sarkar Oppa? They are Japanese. Not Korean.
Allison Tran I know... They r Japanese.. Nothing wrong in calling it😐
まだまだ知らない食べ物があるんだなぁ~
世界は広いんだなぁ~と思いました。
「ソイソースぽん酢ビアー」には爆笑しましたw
Poor Shinichi, you're not a wimp, I wouldn't be able to eat it. And I wouldn't be able to eat any of the spicy stuff either
