Yep, that’s exactly what happened, moving on now.
😂
I love that a single mistake is an abominable sin that means that you cannot ever fux anyone else's mistake... forgetting that she is correcting a couple million of their own "mistakes". The number of seriously procludes them from even calling them mistakes that is a lie.
And the only mistake is that Erika thought that a creationist paper was competent at sourcing
Their mistakes are for Jesus, so don't count. Duh.
This is basically the equivalent of discovering a typo in someone's argument and using that as a reason to slam them as incompetent and unworthy humans, except worse, because they weren't the one to originate the mistake.
Reminds me of when I was debugging someone's code, and ended up sending a wrong formula because I only corrected some of the mistakes, while not looking at a different part that they also had mistakes in
Yes! It would be like their opponent insulting and dismissing them because they quote their opponent and don't correct a typo that the opponent made!
Thanks. I dug up most of the old gravel in my back garden listening to this. Making way for some native and insect friendly wildflowers. Nicer than the fake grass left by the previous owners.
The idea of Gunter, a polemicist hack, calling you "unfit for science" because of your bias is hilarious. Conservative projection at its finest.
every conservative accusation is a confession
Erika's meme game is extremely strong. YECs should really consider the ramifications of provoking such power
Omg this is 😙👌 you saved me from boredom during a two hour potassium IV drip, my hero!
You gonna be okay?
@@AlbertaGeekI'll be right as rain, just dealing with a bit of dehydration.
@@Menoetia Cool, glad to hear it.

The most egregiously offensive lie in Genesis Impact was the cropped picture of the Hadar archaeological find.
There were 96 skulls next to Lucy in the original, and several more jaws.
Genesis Impact: "Oh noooooo, Lucy was the only hominin we've ever found! So sad that there aren't a hundred others to analyze!"
Your interactions with the apologist "scientist" crowd is my favorite soap opera.

2 hours of Erika makes my day.
That video of a “student” stumping a museum expert is unwatchable. That’s the only time I’ve said that about any Aron video.
Their 'museum expert" is actually a preacher.
@@vestafreyja That's what makes it so unwatchable, and that's rare for me with anything Aron shows.
If it wasn't for Aron's "Wanda Wonder Wig" quips I probably couldn't have watched the whole thing.
The way the preacher plays it shamefaced-not as if the student is pointing out errors or things he hadn’t noticed, but catching him in purposeful lies-is enraging, after i was lied to my entire pre-college education about what evolution even is… by parents with secular sciences degrees, no less
I saw it first from Forrest Valkai, so i Knew what I was in for. I love that those in the auditorium audience never question the girls "evidence," it's just all "that girl is sooooooo right" adoration. 🤣
People like Gunter are the reason that Erika, and her “ilk”, are arguing about things that I learned about over 50 years ago; In spite of the incredible increase in evidence that supports evolution. Gunter and his ilk are so sure that they are right they believe evidence that doesn’t support their beliefs must be wrong.
The thing is while Dr. Bechly could certainly actually believe the stuff he's spouting, it's not really necessary. It's also a possibility that he could be presenting this way for financial gain.
"The hero the Discovery Institute deserved." I see what you did there, *chef's kiss*
He is to paleontology what James Tour is to chemistry.
That's pretty harsh.
Harsh, but true.😅
He also has alot to say about quantum mechanics. He is on the level of Deprak Chopra there.
🤬*MISTER ERIKA!!!*🤬
@@babotonddammit you beat me to this. Well played, you beautiful bastard. ;)
Discovery Institute is a -think- confirmation bias tank.
more of a septic tank, really.
I don’t have time to watch all of this now, so here is some engagement for support. 🙂
Maybe he meant your Adorable Elk?
OMG! You have been called a "Darwinist!" How will you survive the insult?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Always a good day when there’s a new gibbon video 😄
As a German and a Geologist, I think I can safely say that he shames the entire country and field.
"Costume change" puts a jacket on over the my chemical romance shirt 😂 that's the anti-anti-science jacket
This is my first new release I’m catching after finding your channel! Former creationist kid and I really appreciate all your work!
This is the type of content that eventually swayed me. The complete evisceration of every counter point that I thought I had in the bag. I truly appreciate that you take/took the time in the past. Its that standard of evidence that really helps others that are truly looking.
I suspect that Bechly went after Erika because he can't verbally hit Dave Farina anywhere near the level Dave spanked him. So he cowardly went after someone associated with Dave, thinking Erika might be an easier target. Well, we can see how well that worked out for him.
It's certainly good to see unscientific people being shown their limits.
Note to self: Do not, I repeat, do not, in any shape or form, piss off Gutsick Gibbon unless you're ready to get roasted to oblivion! 😂
One might even say - Gunther who?
At least don't do it while being wrong about everything.
I think that it is hard to do so in that as long as you argue in good faith and are not cruel than gutsick isn't going to have a problem.
Frankly I think you're entitled to hate this guy. He's given you that right.
The NSF should give you a grant to support you debunking junk science.
It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between the positions of experts who disagree violently over the minutiae of their speciality. But it is reasonably simple to identify anti-scientific frauds - especially when the flaws in their arguments are highlighted with this degree of clarity and thoroughness.
55:30 "Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?"
"Yes I would, Kent".
Kitzmiller actually showed the evolution of ID through several transitional populations from the more basal Creation Science. I still cannot believe DI stayed in business after that.
Featuring my second favorite transitional form of all time (tiktaalik just barely edges it out), “cdesign proponentsists.”
@@HowToTrainYourDuncan lmao this made me laugh
It is kept alive by desperate american christians.
@@HowToTrainYourDuncan I'll always be fond of tiktaalik because not only is it exactly the right sort of transitional it was where it should have been both geographically and stratigraphically.
But for lulz "cdesign proponentsists" is still my favorite.
Kitmiller didn't show that.
Heck, with the Genesis map, you could prove God constructed a Circle K mini mart. They didn't think anyone would go to the trouble of a library loan.
Always makes my day to see a new 2 hour long gutsick gibbon video
You'd think little Guntie would have learned after getting pasted by Professor Dave.
Paste don't learn.
He learned to fuck with somebody else.
…He picked the wrong somebody.
As a grifter, he's betting on uneducated fencesitters going "monkey lady mean :

He should try arguing with a duck, that’s more his speed. Probably a rubber ducky, not like a real one who would also call him out.
@@thedave1771
He is, after all, a quack.
HEYOOOOOOO! 😆
Funny, I discovered the Gutsick Gibbon channel when I randomly watched the Rubutting Genesis Impact videos. It was very clear that Erika is a very intelligent and articulate biological anthropologist. Being moderately obsessed with hominins, I knew right away she was my anthropological hero.
Agreed. I think I've only ever really disagreed strongly with GG on one point. I'm not an ape. I'm a teapot.
@@tehspamgozehere You do you. I'm definitely an ape.
I am happy to see you fight back and defend yourself. You did not allow an affront to your personal dignity to stand, unchallenged. I myself also do not mind people who disagree with me. What I take strong exception to is when they mischaracterize and obfuscate what my positions are to more easily attack them, and resort to name-calling and personal ridicule. Not cool! It gives me great pride to see you correct the record and stand up for yourself.
Erica!!! Your inter-library loan from NM came from my state ❤ So glad to see NM supporting your efforts!!!🎉
On behalf of the German people I would like to apologize for Günther Dingsbums.
It's not like we are in any way responsible for his actions, though. Also, we didn't choose our nationality when we were born.
Anyways, some commenter called him "Herr Kartoffelkopf" and I suggested "Dr. Kartoffelkopf" in response. Would you find that fitting for him?
At least he no longer lives in Germany.... Austria on the other hand...
There is nod need apologies on behalf of the Germans. We are such a nice and lovable people, well liked everywhere around the globe.
I would be glad to be categorized in the same ilk as Gutsick Gibbon.
You know they're "winning" the conversation when all they can do is talk shit, threaten to physically assault you, and point out one single mistake over and over again!
This gunter dude is such a fucking coward. I have enough videos that I can point to, to confidently say that I don't think there's anything gutsick says here that she wouldn't say to his face, but I also feel pretty confident that he wouldn't say half the shit he says in this article to her face.
1:04:00 Absolutely spot on. People behind computer screens love to obsess about _a_ mistake someone makes while ignoring all the good they accomplish and _have_ accomplished. Please do not take this shallow person to heart. *You know that intelligent people in the real world appreciate you and your hard work.*
Here in Brazil, the Ministry of Education (federal education administration) also considered Intelligent Design as a subject for Theology courses and UNRELATED to science. That's a major win for us, since we're the second largest Christian population in the world.
You know things are about to get real when Erika pulls out the MCR shirt
This is like science and diss rap combined into the best thing ever
You are so killing it with the releases, thank you again. Was just rewatching your vid and saw the notif for this new one, got so psyched you won't believe it
can we get a rude girl super cut? just a full episode of jacket erika
Happy to be part of your deplorable ilk 💖 respect the hell out of you for the work you do, RUclips and otherwise!
I love how creationists hear all the terms and arguments applied to them and they immediately go on a rant using those same terms. "Uh uh! YOU are!"
GG with the good stuff. Let's go!!
Saying Dave Farina is "a *little bit* more aggressive" is a wild way to say " *unhinged* compared to me" 😂
One of the problems with irrational belief systems, is they really impairs your decision making.
I grew up neck deep in one of many anti-science movements of the 80's post that "moral majority" nonsense. There's a _very_ deep misogyny that was constantly present in those circles. Nothing threatens the "manhood" of those dorks more than a young educated woman. That is (in my opinion) why at times there's such venom in their approach when addressing GG. I once started listening to creationists doing a stream amongst themselves which I regretted 5 minutes in but I heard that they mentioned GG so I was curious. Immediately they went for her voice annoying them or her looks on some weird creepy level like she's literally an object to them and nothing more. I needed to take a shower after hearing that.
(not all creationists are disgusting misogynists, just to be clear... just sharing an anecdote and an opinion)
Tbh I would wager that the venn diagram between creationists and misogynists is nearly a circle.
@@GenesisTheKittysame
Christianity, and Abrahamism in general, is fundamentally misogynistic.
@@GenesisTheKitty You are seriously downplaying or misunderstanding misogyny in your preferred social class and ideology if you think that's the case. It's honestly quite disturbing to hear someone say something this ignorant of misogyny and who practices it and be upvoted so much.
@@dingdongism It's hyperbole for effect. Of course we know that misogyny is a bigger circle and a much bigger problem. It's just that not much of the creationist circle lies outside of it.
Not giving out your true name to potential enemies is such a fundamentally sensible idea that it's embedded in our faierytales and a common practice throughout history. When someone takes issue at such a common and reasonable practice, it makes one wonder.
"So with that, it's time for a costume change". Ah yes, throwback to the Mean Jacket™!
G.G. you are a treasure in the science education community! Well done!!
I already watched professor Dave eviscerate Gunter and now I get to watch Erika. I feel so spoiled.
How wonderful that GG ponders that she might now hate Gunther, but then can't let herself go that far ❤
Gonna be honest, i had this on as background noise because i like hearing you talk, and then i heard "interlibrary loan" and I immediately tuned in. I ❤ libraries 😁
HAD to subscribe after that absolute slam dunk of "the way you fumbled this so bad should be studied"

Idk how I fell into this little bubble of drama on RUclips, but I'm into it. As drama goes, it's almost cozy.

Erika: provides peer review
creationists: NOT LIKE THAT!

Bump for the algo! You're my favorite youtuber Erika, love what you do!
No matter my belief, I would never defend or spread “information” that was not proven or completely undisputed. Miss Gibbon I am envious of your knowledge. Thank you for sharing with us.
Man, I want to become a content creator on RUclips, but I'm scared of people finding out my last name and tracking down my *father's* university office.
It's not like they'd even need to travel to our city to hurt him or me - just bombarding his office or the university in general with calls or his email with messages could cause a serious problem. (It's not like they'd even need to use their own phone number and send each call themselves if they are proficient in tech at all.)
It's completely insane to criticize *anyone* for hiding their name online.
I don’t understand a lot of stuff you talk about. But you communicate it in a way that gives me an inkling of understanding. Enough to make me want to learn more. It takes me a few days to watch your videos because I might hear something every couple of minutes that I want to google and try to understand so I can understand what you’re talking about. Then I go down a wiki hole and end up at a TV show stub article about pirates or something.
Erika's last name isn't Gibbon? Is her middle name even Gutsick or is that a lie too?
It's Sick. Gut Sick. I don't know where the Erika nonsense comes from though.
