- Not all BMW adventure bikes need a boxer engine, or do they? The F 850 GS-A may have the heft of the R 1250 GS up top, but it has a more agreeable engine compared to its bigger brother. In this Adventure model, this middleweight has been specced with a Filipino-friendly dimension and touring-oriented features and fairings for long-distance riding on the road. Great review!. One note - it does have cruise control (as an option, at least in Europe) and quickshifter. It is really a multi-purpose bike.

Is the Adventure model available in our Country? I've been to different BMW Dealers to look for this and they told me that they won't release it here. Did they change their mind?

dont do it. I own a 2023 850gs. I recommend you go with something else. 1 month into owning the bike and my water pump went out. Chinese manufacturing at its finest. Wish i knew prior to purchasing they were made in china.

it’s a sport tourer. i don’t get it why motorrad slap a 21” front wheel-that rim size and non-adjustble front susp will probably wobble you on the corners.

I sold my bike after 13 000 km. I had changed two seats ( comfort,low) and a windshield but could not find any proper. It was a pain in a butt for long rides. Moreover constant problems with electronics and sensors. I only liked the engine. Bought 1200 gs instead and was happy with everything in stock.

yes, after completing my 1st Philippine Loop on a 400cc maxi scooter, my mind tells me now that the best bike for my 2nd Philippine Loop is somewhat in this category.. particularly, this F850GS would be very interesting I guess... F1250GS is too heavy for me standing at 5'-6" and very hard to position the bike when inside the RORO during sea crossings.. IMHO
850 is good for 5,6 im 5,7
Im 5ft 7 and own a 850gs. I recommend you either go with a different adventure bike in the middle class or just go for the bigger brother 1250. The 850gs is the heaviest in its class and it feels it. Extremely high center of gravity. Sure the 1250 is heavier but its lower center of gravity helps keep the balance. Dont get me wrong, on the road, the 850 is as smooth as butter but I do not go offroad much thanks to that issue. The newer 900gs for 2024 I heard will have a good amount of weight shaved off too

The 1250 weighs 590 pounds. The 850 weighs about 540.
This thing should either be under 500 pounds, or have ~15 more horsepower. As it is, it's just an underpowered pig.
