Jinno has graciously invited Caco to come and flex his scooter riding skills in a special review of two new EV Scooters in the Philippines, the Segway E110L and the Segway E300SE. These two electric two-wheelers present themselves as a great personal mobility machine around town, but how will it fare in a competition of wits and dexterity? The duo heads to the Angkas training center to put the models through their paces and to see who is the superior scooterist.

Nice video. How about a comparo. Zeeho A8 S+, Segway 300SE, BMW CE-02, Vespa Electrica, others. Have been wanting to get into EVs, but living in a condo in Manila and w/o much public charging infrastructure, making me consider the 2 wheel variety. Already had an electric motorcycle 12 yrs ago but they were heavy and NiMh / lead acid batt powered (old technology). They looked like the equivalent of the electric “underbone” supplied by a local company. It was powered by 5 pr 6 12 volt lead acid batteries. These new e scooters look way better. And if the batteries are removable and chargeable on common sockets, then they’ll be more practical.
I saw a gogoro that is also priced around that range (250k +). The thing is, if you own an E scooter like that, that is most likely going to be confined to city driving. If you're planning on riding outside the metro on weekends (Rizal, Quezon, Laguna etc), you either need to plan your trips properly (like knowing locations where you can charge those e scooters) or own another bike / scooter tht runs on gasoline.

I am still wary of charging batteries inside a home. I work with batteries at the office lab and we take battery safety very seriously.

A hundred thousand pesos? Not worth the price. I own an e-bike with a 1000W motor that cost only 25 thousand pesos. I mainly use it within the city-carrying groceries, hauling mineral water, and providing service of transportation for my kid. But given the price of that bike, I’d prefer to invest in a combustion motorcycle.

Yung China version na E300 is really better than the export version E300SE, China version has Bigger dashboard screen at 3 battery na sya hindi 2.

I agree. Seriously. As they mention, electric motors have more torque, and reach their peak horsepower more smoothly and quickly, but still.
Better wait for the battery innovation, ATM battery cost so much maybe 50 or 60% of the price went to the battery itself.
