Thanks for the video, I like the multisite information included here. I created a DB for the site during the install. But if I am going to work w/multisites and each need a DB...what do you do? Create a separate WP install for each locally?

Did not work for me. Followed your tutorial exactly (besides using a different name for my database and site folder in htdocs) and when I hit install I got the "There has been a critical error on your website. Learn more about debugging in WordPress."
i tried to run the test.php from local host but it is showing "object not found:The requested URL was not found on this server. "

for example you may have a site for blog, a site for merchandise, and site for general info (like about, features and contact) and all of them using the same domain

Sorry, I need a wp-config-sample.php file to work from. Please re-upload this file to your WordPress installation.
you just don't need to change the file name in wp-config.php, leave it as it is and will work
