She's not wrong. "I beg your pardon" in the US usually gets whipped out by someone in your parents' or grandparents' generation and almost always is an indicator you just said something that offended them.
Same in UK! saying I beg your pardon translates to "wtf did you just say to me??" whereas just "pardon?" is what you'd say if you needed someone to repeat themselves haha
In the books, the second book delves into a new “Jane”, but I do really hope that they continue with this storyline for a second season. They definitely left it open to it. The show was really cool, give us more!
