-A Muslim has to accept ikhtilaf. This is the opinion of the sheikh, backed up of course, but the other opinion which allows loose pants also has a lot of sources.

Search for the right fabric for the season. It is not a burden until you make it a burden upon yourselves. Forget about peoples comments and do not lose your hijab by following your desires in styling it and trying to fit in.

A question for the sisters. Why is there so much hatred towards the Abayah? It has made being modest so easy for us Muslim women. If it isn’t worn in your culture and your cultural clothing isn’t modest, then simply go buy yourself one. If you want to assimilate with your culture then do that at home.
The abayah is one of the best garments out there. Instead of buying 10 blouses and skirts, you get that in one piece.
Please sisters look at your intentions!! I myself never liked wearing an abayah and when I thought deeply about it, it was because I didn’t want to appear too “religious”, I wanted to “style” my clothing or I didn’t want to be stared at.
The point of hijab has been heavily distorted by the media. The idea of hijab is that you’re concealed!! Not focusing on what matches with your undercap.
    Baarakallahu feekunna.

There’s not hatred towards abaya. There hatred towards all the rules being towards women, whilst men have a tiny fraction of these rules. It’s exhausting because whatever we do, it’s not enough. Whatever we do we are sinning. It’s hard to not see it as unjust

We can choose to blame the people of knowledge but it will boil down to them having STUDIED the religion and us not. While they present us with evidence we start barking our opinions and personal interest. Let us study as much as they have and then come to a conclusion.
It's not a men VS women thing, we women have GREAT status in Islam. You feel oppressed only because you would rather follow your desires than submit to Allah and His ruling. We as humans love to do it, but when we think it's not our desire and the fault is in the verdict itself, we have chosen to follow the way of Shaytaan. May Allah guide us.

@@MH-bf4uu That’s because you’re focusing on the rules for women. If you were a man, you’d say the same thing; there are many rules for men whilst women have a tiny fraction of these rules. Men have to work and spend their money on their family while wives keep their own money. Men have to protect their family with their life while women don’t have to risk their lives. Men are obliged to fight in Jeehad (it’s not an option, it’s mandatory to put your life on the line) and risk serious injury, blindness, severing of limbs, and death, while women get to stay at home and be safe from the battlefield. You think women have more rules only because you’re looking at it from your own perspective. Many men would rather have more rules pertaining to modesty (which is only a slight inconvenience) than the things I mentioned above (which are life threatening).

It does not even have to be an abaya.
Any long piece of cloth that covers you head to feet, loose and appropriate fabric. ✅
You are uselessly arguing over abaya vs other clothes.
Everyone prefer abaya not because it’s an arab thing but because it a 1 piece kinda thing which falls from shoulders to feet and Jilbabs which cover from head to feet.
Anyone who adds belts and adornment over abayas, attractive colors, using clingy or revealing fabric, have tight fittings or showing front hair (like some do in gulf countries) or exposing neck, or chest, is definitely defeating the purpose and Allah knows best.

I wear pants, but they're very loose, or they don't accentuate my curves at all. If they are tight on my waist, I cover it with thin cotton/polyester shirt/jacket. Nothing really shows, and sometimes, like in PE, wearing an abaya isn't really feasible imo, but I may be wrong. After all, Allah knows best and He knows that I'm trying. Edit: I wanted to add that I live in a western country, and for those living in a muslim country, as I once did, this is easy for and livable therein. A skirt should be fine InshaAllah as long as your upper garment (tunic, sweater, abaya, etc.) is long enough that it loosely covers the area where the skirt starts i.e. your hip and even more below that so that even if it rides up a little, your hip isn’t exposed.
The idea basically is that all parts of your body should be covered by a loose garment, although a one-piece abaya that goes from shoulder to below ankles is obviously preferred over all other alternatives.
