Nah mate, the idea was perfect. Simple enough that it could be added without destroying the model, and it looks great. Really adds the element it was missing. Thanks for the suggestion again!

Vallejo Black Surface Primer. First primer I ever used, and yet to finish the two bottles I bought years ago :D
