@@eliasmediaThe tank had no threat at all because of a bad leader call, so when the pet died the boss blasted the druid that had just enraged. It could've been anybody else. Just don't pull like this, ever

ZG chain lightning, Naxx spiders, the under level duo in WPL, DM trees, Scholo escape, ZG bats, BRD Angerforge. Somehow this series still finds ways to amaze.
the clip in BRD made me chuckle IRL

- tank doesnt do the pull
- not sure to fight or run, decides to run
- doesnt know about the fireguards spawning
- doesnt fear them
- jumps out of wrong window
- jumps out of another window but lands in the lava
- he STILL can live, but doesnt have petri OR lava jump WA

You forgot the othe mistake... hes a fury warrior tanking
I know it's "HC" but a lot of people would rather play the game naturally than abuse the UI to essentially make your character unkillable unless one shot

Hahahaha on the intro I mentally said "Wait, but if the pet is the only one on the aggro table, doesn't that mean after it dies the beam could target anyone?" and two seconds later.....
Who thought up that strategy? He just blew about 1000 hours of people's gametime.
For a bit more detail, notice how the guardian druid pops Enrage. If it works the same way a warrior's Bloodrage works, it also generates a small amount of threat (both initially and over it's duration) on everything you're in combat with. I believe this is why the druid becomes the target of the chain after the pet dies.
They are all in combat as soon as the pet pulls (take a look at the mages unit frames @ 0:06), so it's not about being on the aggro table. I think @Lion-drome is correct as why the druid is chosen as target, due to him having generated the highest amount of threat with his enrage ability.
@@etou1146 Right but even if the Druid hadn't done anything at the point they're in combat they're all equal when the pet dies. I'm assuming the Warrior hiding on the side of the stairs was supposed to make a ranged attack on the boss, putting him firmly on top the aggro table and thus getting the target of the beam? But no it really seemed like they were just gonna wait for the pet to die and all the mobs to run towards the raid.

How many times are people going to try and run away from Angerforge and be surprised by the 5 elementals..?
I'm still trying to figure out how it pulled. It's almost always the other way around, they ranged pull the big group from the stairs and it drags additional groups with it as they path up the stairs. Instead this party actually tries to clear the side pack first and even though the elementals path seemingly flush along the wall it pulls the big pack so far away? That's nonsense.
it was the rogue who must have pulled, if you look at the map he's close to angerforge@@Thanatos2k
@@Thanatos2kI'm fairly certain the rogue griefed them on purpose. He gets aggro onto Angerforge and is OUT of stealth. Vanishes and watches from the sideline as the entire team flails and dies separately. True roach rogue gameplay.
@@ArchRawrch Read the chat, The Rogue went to sap Diamond as they originally planned, but the group switched up at the last minute to pull the flame pack instead. The Rogue even asks "R?" and nobody replies before the hunter pulls. In classic sap will leave the rogue out of stealth so he pulled the pack. They should have cleared marks or at least told the rogue to not do what was originally asked.
I was the tank. Rogue hit the sap as we were discussing plans and apologized for the miscommunication. I literally felt sick after this pull @@Thanatos2k

1:35 u should put Yourself closer to your party, not boss (literally push boss into the wall), that way range players staying out of range of his death aura and healer healing only melees

I cannot imagine winging an explanation of the exploding batriders as "These guys explode so nuke them" followed by "Kill cross kill cross" when they really meant kill skull. If I'm melee no way in hell am I staying in on that.
I feel so bad for those people who got hit by that chain lightning. Like, why would you not remind your group the boss has a hard hitting chain lightning? So many hours just flushed down the drain because everyone forgot the chain lightning. I get this feeling that the POV person didn't even know about it by that reaction.

@@FloknowssTo be able to pull with the pet (which is already sketch) the tank should have grabbed the boss right away and the hunter recalled the pet so that the mages could sheep them down the stairs. Waiting for the pet to die to do anything was almost guaranteed death, not bad luck!

They didnt group up properly and got lightning'd
Raid leader did not understand the fight mechanics whatsoever and got half the raid killed.
They pulled with the hunter pet, so once it died, the hunter was the only one on the aggro table. He got targeted with the chain lightning and the rest is history
@@KingJerbear Correction: If you look at the boss' target, the moment the pet died, Vanassyl the mage casted Mage Armor spell and got aggro. You can see him at the bottom.

Yeah man that's him but the pally actually survived. He LoE hearth at 60 hp. I used Lip up so couldn't LoE. Every time I died pretty much, I've had LoE hearth macro ready and it just didn't cross my mind.@@shanzulwhiteglintt3919

Bro WTF the first thing everyone needs to do in that first raid room is to spread out all around the room before you pull. Raid leader failed bad.
No need to spread. Just pull with a tank and stay away from them until phase 2. The problem wasn't stacking, it was the tank didn't generate any threat

@@flowerpower111 we could have brought Barov into a room to fight him. We started the fight and were half dead and the paladin was oom. Hard to recover from there tbh. I also learned after the fact that the tank was trying to bail sooner than I saw him hearthing 🤣

@@quineloehonestly after playing SoD the skill level of HC players is generally higher, BUT if the only thing stopping you from getting 60 is time, theoretically eventually anyone can do it.
This is why I joined a good guild after this clip. Pugging scholo/strat UD is generally heavily recommended against because loose cannons like these guys exist. I had just turned 60 like 2 hours before this clip so I didn't know any better but it made for good content 😂

Its possible because theres noone in his melee range. This pet tactic is dumb.
When the pet died the bosses aggro reset. The warrior hadnt taunted the boss so the ranged stack got aggro and he casted his chain.
I'm still trying to figure out the second clip. Did some players got cc'd and killed by group members?
No death log is buggy. Was a double pack pull most of us died to poison.
8 ppl died there mostly because of the poison tick, it was an accidental double pull we weren't prepared for

I don’t know if it’s mechanics, but most of these hardcore players are legitimately terrible at the game. Slow reactions, keyboard turning, clicking, backpedaling, lack of knowledge…guys the game is 20 years old

no my man, there were l ike 50 signups so not that many ppol to choose from, druid and warlocks are still one of the last played classes at 60 (and also stacking warriors is and was always a good stratety, esp for naxx where you need like 5-6 warriors for trash, usually if we didn't die on the double pull :d )
@@johnwaye147 yes my man, you've been stacking warriors like this from the start, of course you're not gonna get signups for a more balanced raid setup when you hit Naxx.
@@quineloe that would 100% be true on softcore but on hc it changes a lot with deaths and the roster is limited. the only class that wasn't accepted in the guild for the longest time was hunters but there was always barely druids and warlocks are a dime a dozen. Warriors are still the most popular in classic tho, but they die often. on softcore raids, you would even see 15+
