- This is a (6) part documentary on the life and career of my dear friend Etta James. Each video is 30 minutes in length totaling 3 hours filled with music plus interviews I conducted with people who performed with or were inspired by Miss Peaches.
Part 1 examines the career of Etta James from 1954 to 1955 including music plus interviews with Etta James, Ruth Brown, Wilson Pickett, Johnny Otis, Buddy Guy and Phillip Walker.

Wow! She was only 74 when she passed. What a sad loss. I so luv her. Rest peacefully Etta "Ms Peaches" James.
Actually 5 days before her 74th birthday. Miraculous, considering how tough her life was.
Yes hon but she performed for over 60 plus years plus. Starting the Peaches at 14 yrs old. And she had an awful lot of living life in that time. On her own basically at 14 yrs old and carrying burdens from childhood and her relationship with her mom. Then the addiction and the abuse and the recovery and family she really had a lot of life stuffed into her 74 yrs.

I was a 12 year old white boy in a very conservative family in 1963. I got a "Greatist Hits of 1962" album for my birthday. The first cut on the record was Etta singing "Somthin' Got a Hold On Me". I heard that and got chills in me spine I will never forget, that opening riff was sanctfying . I decided then and there to play bass and be a musician. Thanks Etta.

I only got to see Etta James perform once. She opened for the Rolling Stones in Tucson Az. on their Some Girls tour! Man oh Man did she rip it up! Love her rough & ready style, and then, she can sing a song like At Last.

i like to say thank you for putting this up. Im 27 years old and johnny guitar watson and etta james are my favorite artists.I'd always search for documentaries on her life but wasn't successful. I guess no amount of film or time can capture the life that she lived. Very extraordinary woman. You did a great job with this
KSG there is an autobiography that was written by her and another person and Im sure you can learn a lot there. Especially since it is written by her. You are gonna get her story, not someones story about what they think or what they heard you will be hearing from the horses mouth as they say.
She is my favorite female soul,jazz,and blues Singer I'm a singer and I be taking her riffs they are so amazing and how she vibrate her voice

I love everything about any James I can’t express to you how much that I love her I was 75 now and I’ve listen to her since I was 14 years old and that’s what turned me onto the soul music there is an app of record that I don’t have your name the artist that I’ve got them now don’t get me wrong I am in DD music also OK of this Chris Stapleton this new guy that’s come on the scene Creedence Clearwater RevivalI put a spell on you Lynyrd Skynyrd Marvin Gaye Gladys Knight there’s too many to name Liz the queen it is my very favorite probably until the day I die

Majority of my favorite artists have been herion attacks . I loved them before I knew about their drug use. The American blacks n the irish have so much history thats been kept outta the history books. My fathers name is Tyrone Henesey. Tyrone is the lost city of Ireland. The irish were slaves to English long before black slaves. The English had blacks and irish on the same lists when it came to getting housing and jobs. I have a picture where that black n white sign in a store in NYC saying no nigg..s no dogs and no irish. This Gov't used starving irish that didn't even speak English. The irish were drafted into the union n the rich white used them to win the war. There was a time in history where African n irish slaves were breeded together until the govt outlawed it. An irish slave cost 5 n an African slaves cost 30. In Ireland theres a thing called black irish. Everyone assumed if your irish your red n blonde with blue n green eyes, most of them were the offspring of the English. The Spanish raped the irish in the 14th century n before that middle eastern/ mettetranian. 10000 years ago the irish were dark skinned with blue eyes. Eurafrican Mediterranean n Celtics DNA leads back to africa. The English grouped us together in the same group come the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Why would they group us together? Because we've been closely grouped together for reasons only the rich would know. They kept us irish with the blackies as the English would say, but why? We looked completely different by this age in time. Its because they knew how closely we were in blood n didnt want other whites to interbreed with the the irish because they knew are black roots.

So-called "Etta James" was born Jamesetta Hawkins . Obviously just another example of show business deception & shallowness. Changing one's birthname is also disrespectful of heritage. The only valid reason of a name change is when women get married and add their husband's last name ...hopefully WITHOUT the unnecessary hyphen that sometimes is used, just for 'show'.
