- Josh from Exotic Power & Performance swings by the Howard and checks out our Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. It turns out that there is a lot wrong with the car and honestly, we're impressed that it even was able to be driven at all. The clutch for sure is gone, the e-gear system is broken, and the catalyst thermocouples are not functioning along with everything else we already knew wrong with the car.

Sadly I was heading home when one of my pontimeters went out on my F1 transmission on my f430.
Yeah man when you see that transmission failure light and then the car goes into limp mode it's a real shitty feeling.
I was about a mile from home thank God.

I had a P1426 code on my murci there is a little black box below battery cut off that could controls both cat temp sensors. Replace that and no more codes. It’s a common failure on the Murci

Its the door lock actuator. This is very common. Water pools from door handle into the actuator motor. I have two Murci’s and both failed on me. The trick is to determine which side (left of right) needs the actuator replaced.
Actually, our locks were just out of sync. One was locked, one was unlocked. So it would toggle back and fourth. Strange but it works now.
@@normalguysupercar cool. Usually the actuator is all rusty and locks up. Maybe you actuated locks enough to break free. I got locked out 1x ever since, i never use my door locks. Glad you got it working. If you are ever in dallas area, please look me up. Our Dallas Crew probably has 7/8 Murci’s now. All the best
Now we know why the manuals are worth so much more than the e-gears.... and amazes me there are so few when it was a no cost option 🤷♂️
Well, they still have the same clutch expense. But yeah.
The manuals are simpler and more reliable. The E gear was the latest and greatest tech at the time so everyone jumped on the bandwagon and went E Gear.
@@bkscott2010ss well no human can ever match the shifting performance of an E-gear. It's kind of like the DSG transmissions on Audi and VW cars. No human can beat those.
But, nothing like that manual connection with a good ole clutch pedal.

If it locks and immediately unlocks, you might have a second key fob in the car. My audi did the same thing when I forgot my jacket in the back seat with a key fob in the pocket.

Texa's documentation is incorrect regarding Murcie clutch wear. Those are Gallardo (twin disc) clutch wear specs. The Murcie (single disc) clutch is worn at 7.6. So technically you are 85% worn. Also, not sure if you have tried it but clearing trans codes will get it working again. Lastly, some potentiometer codes (out of range errors) can be cleared with an actuator relearn. In the end though, if you want to do the clutch for the views, might as well do everything Josh recommended
IMO...85% worn and pot codes fully warrants the engine out, full clutch/egear service. Especially since the car will be sold. Can't have come-backs.
Potentiometer code can be caused by the actuator rather than the potentiometer itself. The computer gets an unexpected feedback when shifting but it's the actuator that does not provide the right motion. In this case Ferrari dealer I know replaces the actuator, potentiometers, pump, accumulator, systematically. A kind of overkill, but having the whole system checked as Josh said is the right thing to do.

I mean, boring for you and your channel wouldn't exist rofl. But it's possible and wouldn't be boring to the normal everyday person I'm sure. But this isn't for mclaren and lambo to do. This is for Honda and Nissan to do to compete. There's no reason the Japanese/south Koreans can't create a reliable competitor. Why should lambo, mclaren and ferrari change if they don't have to?

Vw cars have the same lock unlock issue. It is easy to fix by just replacing the driver side door lock. It's extremely frustrating if it does that

That's not totally true. The F12 and 812 are low maintenance. Supposedly the Aventador isn't terrible either.

To bring down the bat wings. Hold down the wing button in center console. While holding down, start the engine. After a few seconds the wings will start to come down. Dont release button until both wings are fully in downposition.

I hate to be bitching in the comments, cause I love your stuff (and we all love hearing from Josh!) but... I'm afraid I have to comment on The Howard.
Leaving aside the slightly ridiculous 'gentleman's strip club' kind of vibe (because meh, not really important) the actual problem is the lighting - it's just completely awful with all those black walls and roof. It's the perfect mix of being awfully dingy so you can't see anything that's filmed inside engine bays/interiors/under panels etc, coupled with terrible spot glare on anything external (because of the same reason - you just get the direct spot light from the luminaries, with no reflection from the general wall/ceiling surfaces building the general lux level).
Sorry again to bitch, dude, but 🤷 it doesn't do justice how good the rest of your production is.
Really am looking forward to seeing this latest Lambo repair though 😁

Sounds like you experienced what happened to me. My car was sent an EMP and my car went wonky. I suspect it was this one police car that was behind me in traffic. I had to replace multiple sensors and solenoids, one after the other as I troubleshot each individual behavior using my analytical skills of engine and rev behavior.
If the sensors in the Murci go bad, it basically just dies and won't go in gear at all.
