Once a racer, always a racer. We join former pro Neville Bradshaw as he takes on the first round of the new Maxxis British 2 Stroke Championship at the historic Canada Heights. Two strokes need to come back fully, I think they should make a 2 stroke tier in the monster energy supercross where pros can have a bit of fun riding the 2 strokes

AMA must be soft cocks. 2 strokes are alive and well in Australia. There's been a big return to them due to the high costs of running a 4 stroke.

carabela125 maybe we need to wait for EFI kits for all two strokes, I think that will be soon, low emissions and more power.
I stopped watching mx when 4 strokes took over. This brings back such awesome memories please keep it going. 2 strokes... make motocross great again!
I enjoyed watching Kenny Roberts (snr) on a 500 GP 4 cylinder 2 stroke in the 80s. We have a 96, 125 Honda CR, its good fun.

Neville is a great communicator and certainly a gifted racer... To make a pipy two-stroke go fast is far more complex than a four-stroke. You have to engage your hearing and pick up on vibration in the bars when surrounded by the cacophony of sound from others. You have to be always hunting for peak power while dealing with racing.
Going fast on these bikes has more of a sense of pointing it between the fences and hurling yourself down the track while hunting for something to deflect off of to change directions.
You're either hunting for a lip strong enough to catch you or if you are overcooked into a corner you hunt for some deep cake to dive into in order to scrub off enough speed to be able to change your trajectory... most difficult, and horribly addictive.

yes for sure i started on 2 strokes still have one a yz125 and a yz 400f just rebuilt they both kick ass love the 2 strokes kick some but NEV KICK ASS 2nd is great 1st is best ok go get em .Nigel sydney ,i also ride a fireblade on road ,good luck to you all .
I still have my 05 and 06 rm125s I raced them in them years they have been sat in the garage since I start them now and again but simply can't afford to race them 2 strokes are life

I really liked that video made it better he's riding the same bike I ride now except I have a 03.I sold my 2016 Yz250f and bought a 03 Cr250 and revalved the suspension and I have way more fun on this bike!great video!!

Hey everyone, I'm a university student working with a motorcycle start-up and they are looking to develop a new 2 stroke engine.
Would you guys be more interested in a new 125, 250 or 500cc engine? Also, what are some added benefits you would like to see in those new engines? Price range?

Looking forward to the upcoming winter series at my local track. 1st race of this last season was my last, another rider landed on me putting me into a tree at about 35mph breaking my arm, 5 ribs and my sternum. 2 months after the wreck I bought a 01 Service Honda Cr500af. I'm getting it ready to race this next season. Nobody at my local track races a 500. In 16 years of riding there I've only seen 4 or 5 500's on practice days.

In my own personal experience, the secret to happiness is learning to sort the occasional good idea from an endless body of bad ones.
That being said, that 700cc “Megaladon” of yours seemed like a good one, although you could have just bought a Maico 700. But since you did, here is an idea for you: R/C glow engine fuel is nitromethane. You need jets that are about 8 times bigger, and it’s far from economical, but you can expect about twice the horsepower.

All my friends have 4 strokes 125cc enduros , I m the only 1 un the group wiht 2 stroke (Yamaha dt125r) and I realy enjoy trolling them. XD They always try to race me but they always fail . Even the WR125x is way to slow for the 2stroke bike!

I'm 43 now an as a kid its all I wanted to do/be , a MX rider . parents couldn't fund it . so I always had the yam DT 175 or DTR 125 to fly about on . but I'm in a better place than my parents an I now i own a kx250 2stroke 06 . biggest buzz I'm getting my grandkids into now :-)

Yeah there a lot of people who get scared away from dirt bikes and racing because they are ready for the physical load,I got started very late right at 30,and it was apparent,going to the gym 4 times a week 50 miles away,working 5 days a week,working on the bike,I was on the starting line yawning,3 minutes before the gate was about to fall,and I woke quit and said,I can't do this,pro MX deal by myself,I'm gonna get hurt yawning on the start line,you know that good yawn,and poof your sound asleep...so now I'm gonna chill a little and give Supermoto go...will see,250f lite class,tell Damon I said hi,haven't seen him like 15 years...rock on Neville rock on...peace.

Bring back the CR500 & 500cc 2 stroke races. Honda please build a new aluminum frame electric start water cooled single cylinder well balanced fuel injected CR1000cc 2 stroke with electronic decompression during starting & start 1000cc 2 stroke races also. Put on a high power magneto/alternator for running headlights, tail lights, running lamps, electronic gauges, charging circuit ETC. & offer a gauge package with turn signals, LED F&R lights supermoto kit ETC.
Bring back the 98 type yz250 fastest 250 period.

Yeah quite simply the way I've always felt,is I have been hyperactive kid since I was 3 years old,and a two stroke to me is like,my heart beat at full throttle,my metabolism is like 125 on steroids screaming,it like my heart if I was running as hard as I could,but drop it back to half throttle and twist it back to full again,I laugh,I can't do that with my metabolism,or heart rate and it awsum to feel that and be able to have control of that.Four strokes are unbelievably trick and so technically advanced but they just miss that two stroke sound that just unique...more so to master it and to become one with that lightning delivery of power is like nothing else,Zen...zis is da vey it is..

Why would anyone want to a own a 4stroke ??? High maintenance and very highly strung motor. They're a ticking time bomb for when they are due to blow up. Never want one. Here in S.A we had a rider die last week after his RMZ 450 blew up during competition. High costs and high maintenance of a 4 stroke , give me a 2 stroke for anything half serious these days.

Better still why can't Kawasaki come out with a 900 cc three-cylinder Mach 3 two-stroke sport bike? It would be light, ungodly fast, and refined with today's electronics. It could be liquid cooled, have direct fuel injection, and an oil injection system with a modern formulation that would pass emissions. I think Rotax had an 800 cc 2-stroke twin that was cranking out 150 hp! Should be cheaper too without needing the expense and complication of a valve-train. IMO a new Mach 3 would sell like hotcakes!

my 1st bike was a 03 Yamaha 2stroke & once you get it in your blood,it never leaves!!! I dream of the day the ban on 2strokes is lifted!!!!! a lot of these newer kids who have never owned a 2 stroke,feel bad 4 em.unless they have 10 grand or more to get a new bike,even still,it wouldn't be a 2stroke!!! im going 2 find me a old 2stroke again 1 day!
Two strokes are faster if you know were four strokes can’t go wide open plus there a lot more fun! I don’t feel like I’m fast on a 4 Stroke although people tell. Me I’m fast but they know I’m faster on a 125 or 150 but I relay on the KTM 250SX.
