I am 63 and raced as a lad. This is truly one of the best shot videos that I have ever seen. It sure brings back memories of me and my CR-250 and CR-125. You actually feel as if you are the one on the track. Thank you for posting such a gem.

I raced for a couple of years back in the ‘80s. This was almost a dead ringer for my most memorable race. Only I lead for half a lap and stalled in a tight turn long enough to let everyone by. I too finished 2nd. Watching this was an intense experience. Great memories 😎!!! Thanks for posting!!

Same here brother, I also had a CR125 85 & CR250 86. Those were the best years for Honda, I believe, Tried the 4 strokes now & now matter how much "They" say "it's the same as a 2 stroke & even better" is horse shit . There's nothing like a 2 stroke 250R/500R , maybe a Honda CBR900R engine in a CR500R frame !! Lmfao, "that" would be a sight to see.. Respects to you mate !

was watching this at work with headphones in... someone came in so I changed the screen to work related stuff. The guy leaves and I'm working just listening to this race... after a few minutes I become aware that the audio of 2-stroke is more soothing than most things I hear on pandora or iheartradio

My father was two times enduro champion in Argentina in the 90s with a two stroke CR250. I cannot tell you how much I miss those good old days!!
I haven't had a ride like that since 1986. That was wonderful! I need to mount some handelbars on my desk and rewatch this.

I just sit on my old 480 with my iPad mounted on the handlebars and a set of speakers on either side of the shed wall. Run it all thru an amp and turn it up. You should see the freestyle tricks i do like standing on the seat and turning around a whole circle to see who’s behind even whenim leading. I can even drink a can while im at it. Best of all i dont get hurt too much when i fall off the big bore two stroke and it doesnt vibrate ya balls off.

I ride a 2002 cr125 myself just with new red white and blue plastics, that look similar to this, it's good to see 2 stroke riders
He makes up quite a bit of time on the jump faces - he doesn't slow down nearly as much as the other riders he passes. This allows him to keep up more speed on the straight aways. His corner entry speed is also faster. Very impressive! Great video.
Epic racing right there. Love the Honda two-strokes, hate their 4 strokes. After that race, everyone should agree the CR's were fast, and I live and breathe Yamaha.
Cr125’s are slow, but the 250’s fucking rip. And I’m a Yamaha fan myself. Got a 17 yz250x
You should try a 144 TM I have raced a CR 250 and a YZ 250 but the 144 TM is the best
All the 2 strokes were fast, my first bike was a RM 80N (79 model), wasn't a heap of diffence between my old girl and the 82 model CRs, i did notice later that the later model RMs handled very poorly compared to the other big 3 japanese makes, but still went as fast.

@@matthewbreheny9283 Yeah I didn't care for the 96, 97 or 98 RM125's n 250's myself. Raced a bone stock 04 RM250 though and the handling was excellent. Carved corners better than my 05 YZ250 I had at the time(first year of the aluminum frame and the year before the Kayaba SSS suspension unfortunately).

I look at this track and think how spoiled i was growing up. Saddleback Park .. Orange County California 1967-1984. World class MX track, TT track, international track and a flat track in the last few years. In 1967, it's main track was designed by Joel Robert and Roger DeCoster, two famous MX racers at the time. Saddleback Park hosted many regional, national, and international motocross racing events. and SCORE offroad event (Cars).

I remember the race in Cagayan de Oro City with my nephew in 1991, He crashes at the starting of the race and continues and took the first place.... that was awesome

thanks for the 2 stroke vids 999! ridden them for 45+ years. currently ride a 05 cr250, i could go to yamaha, ktm, but i love red. if red doesn't revive the 2 stroke i'm going yamaha and have a new bike instead of an antique i've built for far too long

Have 84 with atac power valve makes ton power it's on or off its as fast as my Kx 500 to ride either bike to its full potential. Better be in shape have your a game going for ya

What an awesome video, or should I say, What an awesome ride....Never give up, that was so inspiring....Like all the guys on here, I want to tell you my 2-cents also....But I feel like Burt Reynolds, telling you....If I'd been 3 second quicker in the 100 yard dash, I would have been All American.....From, 1974 to 79 motocross hit big in Natchez Miss, and really all over the country...But we only raced in the south....The bikes we raced had little to no suspension...Only the last year I raced the monoshock came out on the new Yamaha's ....But I'm not complaining...I loved racing motocross and meeting new people who also loved to race and some are still my friends today.....I'm 68, and life has been so wonderful in so many ways...And the folks I met while racing were some of the best people in the world....I like to call them the salt of the earth...In the end, all we have is our memories and I'll put motocross up there with all the rest of them....Thanks again for inspiring an old fart....After watching your video for 15 minutes...My stomach muscles hurt the next morning...Hell, I couldn't figure out what I did to them ...And then, it hit me...One of God's angels took my spirit for some fast laps...What a wonderful ride it was too....I'm sorry for writing so much but for a moment I thought I was talking with an Ol' friend....May God bless and protect your family in the great upheaval to come.
those cr'sare a brilliant bike. 15 years old bike and just lkillin the field with this bike. the crs ate by far in my opinion and Many others it's was the bar for other country s still to this day. definitely my favorite bike.
I commend you just for having the patients to deal with all of those horrible racers! Literally NONE of them knew how to pick a damn line & Stay with IT!! They were all over the place & u managed to avoid all of the stupidity with some patients I like it!

It's amazing how much faster you ride when your pissed off. Had that happen to me more than I cared for on the track racing.what no big 100 foot doubles, table tops or even whoop sections like in the states ??

Two stroke mx bikes are the only way to go. case reed induction, two stage reeds, and a properly set up exh. power valve will make a very potent, competitive machine. in my opinion. excellent video!!!!!!

I grew up not far from the track where the Ken Hall trophy was held in Petersfield Hampshire, we used to go there all the time from about aged 9 till I left home. There was a rider call Bob Golner or something he had a motocross shop and raced a 500 sidecar he used to take us for a ride in the sidecar around the field “ it’s was petrifying and super exciting all at one 👌
As a 14 year old kid, had a similar experience from the late great Dave Bickers, (we lived next door in Suffolk) he gave me a passenger ride on his Norton works sidecar outfit in '76, probably the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced, the blinding speed, the insane vibration on the grab rail trying to hold on for dear life.....this was him doing a couple of 'gentle' laps......awesome.

Yeah defo lol, not too many of those around! I was Ice racing in Canada few weeks back and there was 2 KX500's and a CR500 all going at it. Awesome day out watching 25+ year old machines keep up and beat $12k 2018 bikes lol. Obviously it's about the rider too but go oldskool.
Live in Canada too and love my CR500 better than my CRF450!
