I've never actually noticed how much better it looks being able to get close to the ground w/o a barrier until this vid. Now all I've gotta see someone do is loop a crane, I'm surprised that that wasn't the first thing anyone I've watched play did
It's a small thing but it seems to me that they reverted the thwipping animation back to the way it looked in the beta of the first game, which I appreciate since I always preferred the more fluid look of Peter shooting the web he's about to swing from in beta footage than the way he does it in the final 2018 game. Everything about the traversal in this game is perfection; swinging around in the last 2 games feels jarring and weird to me now that I've experienced this friggin masterpiece.
This is a great showcase of what it’s like without swing assist, you can definitely tell the movements are more deliberate because of the few times where you lost speed from sending out a web at the wrong time, still tho you managed to maintain a lot of speed, proper impressive
I never understood that saying in the first game and in SMM cause I never really felt like I was the one in control. With this game I get it now, Being able to finally swing low knowing I could mess up at anytime. Each swing giving me a rush of dopamine after pulling off near misses
But the saying is more a meme, especially for the first game, because it comes from the Batman games, where people said "this game makes you FEEL like Batman" haha@@Laikalister
only reason I didn't do many Loop de loops is because every time I try to do one I get either pulled into a building and completely lose all momentum even though I was accounting for the angle and direction I needed to go, and that even when I should be going fast enough to do a loop de loop when divebombing it doesn't do it even though I know it should have
I like the option of speed, you know you can go faster but you can choose to relax with the speed aswell. In spider-man ps4 you could only go snale like. (Btw i know it’s because of the hardware limitations xD). Dang i realize that this comment is weird out of context xD.
Takes a while to gain speed in this game, but in the ps2 spiderman 2 game you could just spam r2 and in 5 sec youre mach speed going faster than textures render

@@JvanEdits fuck yes that's a good idea because Spider-Man 3 for PS2 and PSP actually had that! You'd scrape along the wall and lose your speed (not damage but still) but that could be avoided if you pressed O as soon as you touched the wall

haha to be honest the quality on my videos are kinda crappy but with this specific video I just recorded the game directly from my PS5 and uploaded it straight to RUclips. But if you wanted 4k quality you could use Sharefactory to render the video in 4k
I wish swinging was at least twice as fast. Especially considering how the web wings kinda invalidate swinging now. The PC port spoiled me with that mod that lets you swing fast as fuck and now it's so hard to go back to swinging damn near one building at a time.
Its 3x as fast as the original, although with swing assist off it changes the way you gain speed so its slightly slower since you have to actually build that speed up yourself
I recommend turning it completely off, gives you complete control. But if you don't feel like smacking into the ground constantly ( which is apart of the fun ) just turn it up to 1 and that will only keep the floating mechanic on so you'll never hit the ground but still have complete control over everything else
I love how with siwing assist off they force you to land on the ground if you are swinging too low, instead of making Spider-man just run on the ground and jump. Why?
Put it on 1. It’s literally the same as swing assists 0 but without the annoying ground magnet effect. And they do that to make swinging harder, by putting it on 0 you are telling them you want a challenge
@@youngspecial64 no i mean like a regular swing but the swing time is much longer. That could only happen if the webs you're swinging from are longer. Imagina a web half the height of the empire state building or the rest of the tall buildings and your simply swinging with a web that has a much longer diameter.

You just hold circle and move in the direction you want to go, it’s the tether mechanic but you can use it for poles or anything that isn’t too wide to swing around and gain speed
like the actual webs bending and twisting going around a flag pole? or me swinging around a flag pole cause if so I'm pretty sure that's like one of the first things I did in the beginning of the video

You can... its the thing I do the most in this video, you can literally swing between cars if you time it right. Swing assist off completely gets rid of the floating handicap they enable by default, allowing you to swing as low as you want, that is without hitting the ground. Here are a few examples 0:36 - 5:40 - 7:04 - 7:32 - 8:48
Yeah true I reckon it was my fov I changed it at the start of the game and never thought about it because I had it at max like the other two games but for some reason it is the opposite in this game and you need to have it at zero to get a higher fov but anyway appreciate the video I probably wouldn't have changed nothing if I didn't see it. cheers bro

These assists have made the web-swinging seem so redundant. In Spider-Man 2 (2004), you have to create momentum through web-swinging alone. Now that Insomniac Games has finally implemented physics into web-swinging, why is it that no one has explored it to its full potential yet? All I see are copycat videos with maybe just a touch of variation. Otherwise it’s like rinse and repeat every time I search for “marvel’s spider-man 2 swinging zero assist”.

It’s all for the better if you ask me! You can create MORE speed by combining all the different moves. The web wings, for instance, are not there to let you fly over the city and be done with it. They would’ve made a Superman game if that were the case😂no, they’re there to give you another precious option to have control over your movements. Personally, I’m having a world of fun by using as little of one single move on repeat as possible. I try to combine and experiment, and the result is that I’ve never enjoyed swinging around New York this much in any other Spidey game. Variety is the key.
@@Meaburr I see, I agree with the airtricks. The new airtrick animations are good but I feel like they don't blend well with older airtricks. The transition between doing them and then swinging immediately after feels and looks janky sometimes
Neither of those matter, also you hold onto the web longer to go higher. I don't see how that's a problem, the only time its a problem is if you don't even press X afterwards. I like going fast so I let go early

I think they should allow you to fire another web after you fire your first web during your swing just like in the movies.
