I’m from the Deep South of the US (Mississippi). These Aussies did me proud with the soul with which they sang this gorgeous Dylan gospel song! Press on, my fellow southern brothers and sisters! ;)
The true inspiration for this song: “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I PRESS ON toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
Vearn Rogers I first heard this 8-9 years, performed by the Montreal Mass Choir on a tv special. I was going through a huge battle in my life. This literally catapulted me through/over/pass it. It was amazing. Great song.
This is my first time hearing this version of Pressing On. It's such a good song: I wish more gospel choirs would have this as a staple. The best version, IMO, is by John Doe. Yes! John Doe of X!
I was so totally praying for the lil girl in that chair the whole vid. & did'nt know why she did'nt get up? then I relised hey this is taped''' Praise God she might be doing wayy better! Thank you Jesus =)
Thank you Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir, and thank you, Bob Dylan. This is such a good song, but it always makes my eyes leak. Alicia Keys sings this song at the end of the Muscle Shoals movie and it too is beautiful.
Very well performed. They did it their own way, rather than try to copy Bob. Probably my second fav song. Now, listen to one of Bob's versions to hear how it is really sung.
Bob Dylan could not have written his Christian period of songs from a secularist point of view.Bob knew his Saviour in an intimate Holy moment that cannot be ever denied. When we Christians revisit his lyrics each person will realize that Bob Dylan knew the cost of discipleship as he laid out his beliefs for a mass audience to ridicule. When will He return?
Just because he decided not to be a slave of pastors and churches does not mean that he is not living in the Lord. He might be nearer to god then the judges who try to judge him before the time...
Also a Mississippian. Dylan is special to us here, black and white. What a message to us all to keep pressing on to a higher calling.

Nice tribute to Dylan, on his Christian stage. He would have been proud. Didn't expect the late 70s would held it so well.
Yes Jesus is doing His part and we need to do our part.
This is brilliant. Thanks so much for your performance.
GOD IS BOB DYLAN..... NO DOUBT ABOUT IT
Thanks, I really enjoyed this. The choir did a fantastic job, really building up nicely with great power.
Sick cover! I am not christian nor religious but this is gorgeous
Bob Dylan was a backslider.
But he's still the greatest songwriter of all time.
